The veins are responsible for transporting blood throughout the body and then back to the heart. When a vein has a weak valve is unable to carry blood back so it accumulates. This causes vein to permanently dilate and increase its size.

What results can I expect from the procedure? This procedure offers almost immediate results. The first two days the treated area may redden and some bruises may appear. This discomfort should disappear during the first week. Seven days after the procedure, patient can see the results. Once varicose veins are infiltrated with this treatment, they dry to become scar tissue, and then, disappear. You can expect from this treatment a clear improvement in your appearance with the removal of varicose veins.
Technique and Protocol The most common technique to perform this treatment is sclerotherapy. The doctor injects a saline solution directly into the area to be treated (in the vein) causing the scarring of the vein. The treatment lasts about thirty minutes. The number of sessions required varies depending on the characteristics and needs of each patient.
Recovery and aftercare This procedure does not take extreme care but, like any aesthetic technique, it requires precautions. It is recommended not to do extreme physical exercise during the first days after the treatment application. It is convenient to apply bandages after the procedure.
