Welcome to the Mycreativeimages Magazine “Art is a line around your thoughts.” – Gustav Klimt

Featured Artists

Many artists use their work as a way of expressing their opinions or sharing their thoughts or emotional responses to things that are happening in their life. For some people the seasons also affect the style and “flavour” of their artwork.

Vivien Capper 8

Winter conjures up images of grey skys, rain, snow, ice and fog. For most people winter also fosters thoughts of staying warm and dry inside.

Alison Bailey 22

For me it means the opportunity to capture dark bold skys, gushing streams, and waterfalls, the lines and patterns that form in ice or snow, or the stark black an white photographs that nature presents you with when fog forms over water and the clouds are low and blocking out the light making everything look ghostly and desaturated. During the long dark winter nights (yes I know they aren’t really long and yes all nights are dark as the sun has set and yes this is the UK and I’m not living in the wilds but you need to allow me some creative licence here!), when its difficult to sleep as ideas are buzzing around my mind

Over the last two months most of my work has been completed between 1am and 3am (an example is on page 34) by which time my mind decides ok you’ve done enough time to sleep before you have to get up for work at 6am! So in short what I’m saying is all artists create for different reasons so when you flip the pages of this months magazine see if you can look deeper and find the hidden messages in the artwork.

Achraf Baznani

https://www.baznani.com

Achraf Baznani Between Real and Imaginary Achraf Baznani is the most inspiring Moroccan photographer of the social media, specialized in photo retouching, surrealism and photomontages. When he takes pictures, he has the imagination! The mind-bending surreal photography of Achraf Baznani proves it. He uses staging, a great trend in contemporary photography, he is also clever because he has a great mastery of technique: overprints, collages, retouching… his creations have no limits. Achraf Baznani opens wide the doors of fantastic, dreamlike and poetic universes. We are embarked in other places that invite us to reflect on the world around us or to meditate. If photography has the ability to restore reality, it also has the power to make us dream. To infinity and beyond! “I am not a picture taker .. I am a storyteller!”

Hello. My name’s Vivien and I’m from the beautiful county of Kent, England though currently living and working near Rome in delightful Italy with its exciting, lively way of life and vibrant colours and designs . I started out as an artist developing Indian ink artwork of a variety of subjects especially figurative artwork and abstract floral designs, then progressed into creative photography and digital artistry thanks to Sebastian Michael’s courses at ‘Photoshop Artistry’ and the advanced courses ‘Awake’ & ‘Kaizen’. My inspiration is drawn from my love of nature, figurative artwork and Italian design and I love using many textures, patterns and colours. I’m thrilled to have some of my artwork in various publications including: Living the Photo Artistic Life, My Creative Images and also gained ‘honourable mentions’ in the Shift Art Monthly Challenge. I was also pleased to be the winner of the Shift Art Challenge with a piece ‘The Mysterious Cobbled Street. If you would like to see more of my art: https://vivien-jane-c.pixels.com/

My Cr e a t i v e I ma g e s – B e h i n d t h e scenes by VivienJane

Photographer/photo artist/ urban, mystery, darkness style of art artwork is best described in her own words: “My work is a mix of my photo’s and brush painting and a lot of fantasy and impressions”. In this month’s issue we’ve asked her to share some of her creative processes with our readers:

Do you consider yourself to be more a photographer or a photo artist? I think I am both, my photographs are the basics for my art works -----

When did you first start out in photography and photo art & do you belong to a camera or art club? I started in 2015 in a photography school but had a camera for fun as a lot of us do from my younger years , photography is my passion but digital art opened the door to a new vision and creative expressions. Since I joined the “Living the Photo Artistic Life” course from Sebastian Michaels a new world of art opened for me. Everything changed for me, it became a passion to create something, an opportunity to learn from the best and grow as an artist developing my own style.

-----

Have you been influenced by other photographers or digital artists & do you have a favorite? My absolute favorites are Vibeke Alvestadt , Billa Bozem and Ali Oppy. -----

Do you already have a basic idea or story in mind when you start creating a new piece? Most of the time I have a basic idea but sometimes it starts with a blank canvas a model the art grows its own way. -----

Could you tell us about the equipment and software you use and which item is indispensable in your studio? I work with a Canon 5DMark IV and Profoto lights and shapers. I do put a lot of work and time in my shoots . As for my art I use Photoshop. -----

12

What are you working on at the moment? I am inspired by the Old Masters in their use of color and textures and would love to bring this into a series of art works . ----What would your advice be to an aspiring photographer/digital photo artist? Follow your own vision and do not be scared to be different.

Linda puts a lot of passion into her projects and produces stunning photo art. You can contact her here lindacelis02@gmail.com and on FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/linda.celis.100

David Walker

https://www.vista-foto.com/

The work of an artist is continually ongoing…changes in technique and direction are to be expected…nothing remains constant and the creative artist must change with the times. Every time I look through my camera lens or sit at my iMac I try to address new works in such a way as to be of interest to the viewing public. Most times the resultant experimental works are failures - sometimes, often against expectations, a special piece comes through…I am sure this was the same for artists through the centuries (as evidenced by canvasses being overpainted?). I tend to share my more “conservative” pieces in magazines such as this journal “My Creative Images” or “Awake Living the Photo Artistic Life”. Some of the more “imaginative” tend to sit in my computer, perhaps awaiting discovery at a later date?

Claude Trew I am a retired lady who is a keen photographer and I belong to a local camera club. However, while I enjoy entering the competitions organised by the club, I feel that the style of photographs that are most successful in club competitions is inhibiting my creative output. I am following some online courses to try to improve the artist in me. So far I have enjoyed every course I have done and hope to share my work with a bigger audience. This is an ongoing process.

I retired in 2017 and am able to spend my time doing all the things I enjoy. I am a hobby photographer and particularly enjoy going to nature reserves with my cameras hunting for bugs. I am trying to learn more about birds but bugs will always be my love. I have always enjoyed playing about with my photos and after taking part in some challenges in a 365 photo project, I was told about the photoshop artistry course. I signed up not long before I retired and in the following January, I also signed up for the AWAKE course. I found myself getting interested in creating things to use in my photoart and this reawakened my love of multi media art and I have been concentrating more on that recently. Going into the new decade, I want to bring my photography, photoart and multi media art together and to do that I have decided to do both bullet and art journals. I have also started a new blog on Wordpress which I hope to do regular updates on. There are links on there to my other social media accounts and also to the two places where I intended to put work on so that it is available to purchase. Esta Moon Artistry is the name I will be using going into the new decade. I hope that you will follow my journey. - https://estamoonartistry.art.blog

Susan Jones

My name is Susan Jones I have loved photography all my life, though I was rejected from the photography class at school due to not having my own SLR camera. About 20 years ago a bought a DSLR and haven’t looked back, I love taking photos, mostly studio but as often as possible getting out and about, particularly London. I have been using Photoshop for a few years, and to my joy found Sebastian Michaels Photoshop Artistry courses and then Awake and have learned so much about Photoshop and continue to learn every day. I love the program, I love changing plain photographs into fantasy colourful worlds. I hope you enjoy looking at my work as much as I enjoyed creating it. Norma Slack

https://www.normasue.com/

I am a digital artist, writer and poet from beautiful Northern Ireland. I currently live in County Down, within sight of the majestic Mourne Mountains. I have been an enthusiastic photographer for many years but it was only when I discovered digital art that I finally felt able to create images that reflected both my emotions and vision. Every day I work towards improving my skills within the fascinating world of the digital workspace. For me it’s a place of magic, a place where I can give free reign to my imagination and create the type of art I feel connected to. About eighteen months ago I began to combine my new digital skills with my poetry and have recently published my first illustrated poetry book, Thunder In My Soul: a collection of illustrated poems. The book is now available at Amazon. It is a project I feel a strong emotional connection to and has been a labour of love. A free sample, along with a selection of my art, can be viewed on my website. You will also find me on Instagram @artbynormasue or on my Website

James Hurley - Cover Artist

www.jameshurley.art

James is a photo digital artist that captures landscapes photographs as well as painterly portraits either in the comfort of his home or on location. He is based in Huntingdon, near Cambridge, and has a passion for incorporating his emotions and frustrations into surreal artwork. James is a self-taught photographer who has learnt Photoshop by taking a number of online course hosted by Sebastian Michaels. His work has received a number of awards from the Heaven art gallery in the USA during September and October of 2017, since then he has had artwork appear in a new conceptual virtual art gallery created by Curat10n Open Art, in the My Creative Images magazine and is available to buy from the Patterdale Hall Estate Office shop, the Artisan Craft Centre (see rear page) and via his website. James’s current focus is to further explore and enhance his photography skills and further develop his own photo digital artistic style which incorporates lots of colour and textures and employing a Chiaro-oscuro style with the aim of producing artwork and photographs that lean more towards a painterly or surreal feel than a realistic photograph. If you are looking for a portrait photograph or want a photograph of you blended into a scene / artwork or just want some unique artwork to decorate your home or give as a gift, get in contact with James, who would be happy to work with you and create something special just for you. Help Me Plant Trees! I took this photograph in October this year on Patterdale Hall Estate (PHE), Ullswater. This is a small section of a waterfall that runs through private land actively managed with the help of many volunteers. If it was possible, I would be there helping the conservation work every weekend, but sadly its not. So instead, I will donate 50% of the profits made from the sale of any of my Ullswater based photoart to PHE to help them plant trees and continue the amazing conservation work they do on the estate.
