Branson shows and attractions have been helping families create a lifetime of memories for more than half a century. When people think of Branson, they are more than likely picturing a stage with talented performers, dazzling costumes, amazing choreography, and incredible music. Live shows in Branson began back in 1955 with the famous Baldknobbers. They began performing in front of Lake Taneycomo before moving into a theatre. Many families would soon follow in their footsteps to produce shows of their own. As a result, Branson has one of the biggest varieties of live entertainment in America. When you’re looking for a show with a few of your favorite legends, there are several to choose from. Sing along with the cast of the #1 Hits of the 60’s (And 50’s Too!). In these family shows alone, you’ll hear a variety of music such as a capella, bluegrass, classical, pop, and more! One of Branson’s founding families, The Presley Family, has been entertaining audiences for over 50 years. They built 6
Branson’s first live music theatre on Highway 76 back in 1967. The show features country and gospel favorites, an incredible live band, and hilarious comedy. Audience members will be tapping their toes, singing along, and laughing out loud throughout the entire show. Country variety shows such as the Grand Jubilee, Clay Cooper’s Country Music Express, and Pierce Arrow bring a combination of music and comedy like no other. From sidesplitting comedy to songs that everyone will be singing along to, these shows will leave every audience begging for more! A newer addition to the country scene is Hit Songwriters in the Round featuring Nashville recording star and writer, Billy Yates. All About The Presleys
The Presleys are an iconic music family in Branson spanning four generations and over 50 years. They first played the underground stages of local caves, perfecting their show, before buying an isolated piece of land in 1967 and building the theater that today has become a Branson landmark. Presleys’ Country Jubilee became Branson’s first show on the famous Highway 76 strip. Audience members fell in love with the family, and The Presleys’ show would then evolve into something even bigger. The Presleys added more cast members, a few sparkly costumes, and lots of theatre seats.
8
Gary Presley, original show member and co-founder who is known on stage as ‘Herkimer’ feels “humbled by the love and support of our family and friends over the past 50 years.” Since their opening day the family has performed for millions of audience members. Their incredible music, stunning costumes, and hilarious comedy keeps guests entertained and coming back. Along with their live show, The Presleys also produce a weekly half-hour show on the RFD-TV network that has over 1 million viewers each month. “We’re reaching out to more folks than ever and it’s exciting to be a part of a dream that is decades in the making,” says original show member and drummer Steve Presley. Presleys’ Country Jubilee has also been featured by the Los Angeles Times, CBS’s
60 Minutes, Good Morning America, radio icon Paul Harvey, and on Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford’s TV show. Be sure to come see this one-of-a-kind mix of country, gospel, bluegrass, and hilarious comedy and revel in some of Ozark music’s finest history.

The Branson Shuffle
A Janice Martin Cirque Show Raiding the Country Vault Each year Branson takes part in what has become known as the “Branson Shuffle.” The Branson Shuffle happens when shows change their venue. Some years there may just be a couple of shows that change theatres, but there are times when numerous shows change where they are
located and even the days and times that their show is scheduled. You’ll also find several entertainers that change where they perform as well. The shuffle begins around November and can continue until opening day. You just never know where your favorite show or entertainer will end up!

Today, Mabe family members still perform for audiences each and every night. Tim Mabe, Jim Mabe’s son, is one of the shows comedians and is best known as Droopy Drawers, Junior. He is also the show’s

Get to Know Our Branson Entertainers Better PlayBranson, the unique new television show that lets guests get to know some of Branson’s top entertainers, sits down with Billy Yates of Hit Songwriters in the Round and Illusionist Rick Thomas!
Billy Yates Billy Yates Hit Songwriters in the Round at Americana Theatre Tell us about your background. I’m from Doniphan, MO and moved to Nashville about 30 years ago. I started singing demos for songwriters there and began hanging out with those folks. Many songwriters there encouraged me to start writing. They took me in as a young songwriter and spent time teaching me and writing songs along with me. Talk about your songwriting career. I have written over 2,000 songs. One of the first hit songs I wrote was “I Don’t Need No Rocking Chair,” recorded by George Jones. How did you get to Branson? I got a call from Michael Peterson and I
wasn’t sure at the time that I would say yes because I was touring over in Europe. But, I threw my name in the hat and they ended up calling me and I came to Branson to join the show. Tell us about Raiding the Country Vault. It is nice to be a part of such a great show and talented cast. Guests can expect an all-star cast, people who have written songs for big artists, backed big-name artists, played on the Opry numerous times, or who have had their own hits. You’ll see the history of music on screens as a country music concert full of lights and smoke is performed in front of you.
Talk about your new show Hit Songwriters in the Round. Nashville is home to so many songwriters and numerous songwriter shows. I participated in a lot of those and wanted to bring something like it to Branson. Each week there are two diffferent Hall of Fame songwriters. They tell stories that inspired the songs and perform their songs with just a guitar and their voice, the way it was written. The show is unscripted, unplugged, unbelieveable. You’ll have lots of laughs and be prepared to cry because all of your emotions will be tapped as you’ll hear heart wrenching and funny stories behind each of these songs.
Rick Thomas Illusionist Rick Thomas at Andy Williams Performing Arts Center & Theatre
to headline the theatre and I moved from Vegas to Branson and I’m here to stay.
Talk about your history/background.
Tell us about your show.
My family has always been in the entertainment industry. My parents were ballroom dancers, competitors, and teachers, so I was forced into ballroom dancing. My sister and I were also forced to become United States ballroom dance champions for 3 years in a row.
There is non-stop magic in my show. I take dancing and magic and put it together in my show. I perform airadage, dancing in the air. It is the finest guaranteed magic spectacle you’ll ever see. You can sit in the front row and bring binoculars and you still won’t be able to figure out how to do it.” Rick recently won the World Magic Award for the Illusionist of the World because he knows how to interact with the audience. “I was taught very well by my parents. It’s not about dancing it’s about the presentation. Magic isn’t the most important part. Magic is the relationship with the audience, the key to the show. Anyone can do a trick, very few people can perform magic.
Talk about your performing experience. I began doing card tricks underneath tables at dance competitions. I began performing magic during my teen years and I became the youngest single performer in Disney’s history as the magician for the Disneyland hotel. I performed there for 2 years before heading out to do shows on over 300 16
cruises. After the cruises, I headlined in Las Vegas for 15 straight years doing 2 shows a night, 6 days a week. What led you to Branson? I was called on behalf of the Andy Williams theatre. As I say in my show: I never planned on being here, I never planned on performing here, and I never planned on driving through the area. I was soon asked
