Intelligent laziness. Smaller the bug. Bigger the bite. Cinnamon coffee. Hang hat on light bulb. Smell burning hole. Shampoo in eyes. Too late. Doom dome. Kind loving sledgehammer. Abandon banana mattress. Camp on warm butter earth. Small village. Becomes town. Then overcrowded tent city. Circus everywhere. Balls. Clubs. Hoops. Pois. Airborne. Hit my head.
Take toys to Hula Tent. Trade tricks. Mirror tricks. Renegade tent entry. Secret birthday. Day of Dead. Secret tent altars. Renegade red nose. Death bread. Bug genocide proposal. Fundraiser to bail out drug possessor. Rain on deaths parade. Wet wicks. Fizzling ames. Light. Night. Skulls. Celebration.
Sun rise. Play. Practice. Share.
Bit their victims. Incited fear with their venoms. Sucked new juices. Intravenously.
Sun set. Sleep. Hungry. Eat.
After four days war. Regained their territory. They survived the juggling acrobatic balancing gods.
Do when compelled. Then the end. Everyone goes. It fades like a dream.
We leave behind our leftovers. Waste. Overproduction. Footprints. Junk.
Bottle caps. Cigarette butts. Empty circus tents. Discoloured grass patches. The only evidence. A space invasion. The mosquitos. Scorpions. Spiders.
We were willing to wipe out the indigenous. For our wellbeing. Sounds like history. Temporary conquerors. Invade. Destroy. Bade Farewell.
Stone´s throw on map. Boulder push on foot. Squander at laundromat. Eccentric performing. Centric breathing. Difficult simplicity. Breathe in to cross road. Exhale having crossed it safely. Lost in drizzle. Minutes away. Lost for hours. Girl practicing recorder on abandoned car. A Beatles song. Hobo audience huddled around fire across street. Let It Be. Awake early. Pass perfect gardening. Graffiti. Stickers. Religious figures. Little flags.
Ignored traffic lights. Ambulance siren blaring. Unbudgeable traffic jam. No change trolley cart. Pay less in evening. Even the score. Never new pants. Afternoon is night. It begins to rain. And the street wants water.
Buses. Baggage. Bashing. Breathe. Roadside quesadillas. Outer space woman. Hobbling sidekick. Wait with dogs. Ice Creams. Rain. Coffees. And she appeared. Home in hills. Bioconstructions. Evil neighbor. Breaking. Entering. Spraypainting borderlines. Unreal estate state of affairs.
Shake shoes. Blankets. Scorpion precautions. Uphill cemetery. No hitches. Dizzy spirits. Blue tortillas. White tortillas. By the dozen. Inated. Flat. River sweeping woman. Scattered avocadoes. Wind blows out lights. Not candles. Cleansing disaster. Forest wander. Tree eating rocks. Plum sucking.
Hop over rivers. Hidden cold water. Crevasse dives. Inverted bubble bombs. Naked goblins. Hanging with Hangs. CampďŹ re chimney centipede. City chaos. Packed to rim.
Hostel comforts. Communally uncomfortable. Foot odours. Or smokey. Too noisy. Chorizo. Or occupied. Brakefast. Awake task. Stale corn chips. Chiliquile not really. Soup. No spoon. Table. No chairs. Waiter. No food. Early. Wait. Perform late.
More smoke than reections. Toilet paper origami. Poo. Fold. Be interested. Not interesting. And everything changes. No longer crowd pleaser. But the crowd be pleased. Volunteers provoke tears. Curious kids. Don´t forget. Curiosity never killed cat. Fear did. Suitcase deteriorated. Hospitalise. Stitch. Cast. Recover.
Three bars of soap. Hot showers. Luck surely. Spicy chili on big toe. Stains. Saves tongue.
Rain returns. Slippery thongs. Follow green lights. Turn at red. Discover uncovered. Ingrown toenail outgrew. Triangle cut geometry. Paid in park. Envelope sums. Get everywhere asking. Century old donut recipe. Thunder quakes. Juicy drops. Manantial. Front row. Dance with show. Like nobodies watching. Free play.
TrafďŹ c light juggler. Baby in one arm. Other juggling balls. Passing the hat. Confronting. Rapper on train forgets lines. Admits it. Beautiful. Coffee and touchscreens. Hari Krishna Tom Sawyer. Sleep with squirrels. Invisible peanuts. Needed the earth. Always there. Supporting. Let it support. Rise. Shine. Wait. And wait. Last minute organization. Finish in the rain.
Empty gut. Empty guy. Raindrop bombs. Back of truck showmen stories. Farfetched. Fantastical. Fitting. Shiny clothed pensioners. Cha Cha Cha in park. Buckets of uneaten food. Share hat money from street. Count on theatre oor. Spend on amazed taxi driver. Ex textile worker. Now our miracle. Everyone knows everyone. Somehow. Human constellations. We are where we are. Aligned. Synchronised.
We will eventually all meet. And eventually all farewell. Hunter Gatherers of memories. Dreams. Adventures. And joy. Half empty theatres. Overcrowded streets. Plumbers on the sidewalk. Waiting. Everybody waiting. To be wanted. Now and again.
Out of tune harp songs. Swervey bus ride. Directions to more directions. Puck harmonica for empty street. Dirty face kids up front. We ride in the trailer. Station fourteen. Cross the tracks. Two blocks. Everyone knows everyone town. Pedro. Claudia. Take us so far. Maps in sand. Diagrams. Lonely electrical wires whining. Windmills still. Roll under barbed wire. When mountain calls. No standing prohibited.
I ahead. Her a foot. Behind. Exhausted. So far. So close. I find tree. Tingles. She finds jicuri. Ey Ey Ey. Cactus spines. Fingers. Shins. Ceremonial stone circle. Fire. And a deer. Glowing in the flames.
Sleep with stones. Then sleep like stones. Dry wood before breakfast. Hour of fire. Minutes of hot shower. Worth its weight. Vague arms point. Over there. Yes. Over There. No. The Desert Sea. Peyote phishing. Cast away. No signs. No bites. No bait. Footprints. Tiretracks. Deadend beginnings.
Walk far. Still far. Far out. Doubt. Sit in tree. Find wire. Bean can cooking handle. Greatest inventions. Born from leftovers. Morning. Midday. Afternoon. Night. Days in themselves.
