BEACHES ON LAKE MICHIGAN Bryant Park: On West Grand Traverse Bay just east of
downtown, this enormous beach offers a playground, picnic tables, charcoal grills, shade trees and squeaky-clean restrooms. At the base of Old Mission Peninsula where Garfield Avenue meets Peninsula Drive.
Clinch Park: Just steps from downtown, TC’s most popular beach offers 1,500 sandy feet of frontage on West Grand Traverse Bay. Picnic tables, lifeguards and big shade trees for when you need a break from the heat. Major renovations last year included sparkling new restrooms and a splash pad for little ones. Get there safely from downtown via the pedestrian tunnel at the foot of Cass Street.
East Bay Park: The shore here is very shallow, making it ideal for young families (and anyone wishing to park their lawn chair right in the water). Lifeguards, restrooms, playground, shaded picnic area. Located at the foot of East Front Street, where it meets East Grand Traverse Bay.
Acme Shoreline Park: The beach at Bayside Park—one section of what will eventually be the mile-long Shoreline Park—is open to the public, with picnic tables, basketball and shuffleboard courts, and public restrooms.
