Pick your way to better health
New litter stations are a boon to Banchory, writes Linda McPhee Mike Scotland is a Banchory ”loon” and is already an award-winning major influencer, setting up manUP speakUP to support the mental health of those working offshore. He is also responsible for the revolutionary movement, Community CleanUp, encouraging people to look after their local areas, pick up litter and benefit mentally from the exercise, sense of community and positive changes. Mike is really proud that Banchory is the first place to take on the "Pick and Collect" stations, which will soon be installed within the village to allow anyone to litterpick and bring back the renowned beauty of our own piece of Royal Deeside. The three stations for Banchory were kindly made by the Men’s Shed and kitted out with the support of Banchory Community Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Keep Scotland Beautiful and Mike, allowing YOU to pick your way to better health and preserve our beautiful heritage and environment.
The storage station pictured above was built by Men's Shed member Alan Pumfrey and is located in George V Park.
