Banchory Recrea�on Ground will open at weekends from 12noon to 5pm from Saturday 4th June, when bowling, tennis and putting facilities available for all. The Dee Street facilities include an 18-hole putting green, three new tennis courts, bowling green and a chlldren's mini-tennis court – the only one in the county! Founded in 1903, on land donated to the people of Banchory by Burne� of Leys, the Bowling Club has been at the centre of Banchory life for many years. Over the years it has been run/owned by the British Legion, Banchory District Council, Kincardine and Deeside District Council, then Aberdeenshire Council. Around 2000, it was handed over to the members of the bowling club to run and maintain, but is still owned by the council. Community Tennis Memberships are available, allowing unlimited access to members. Courts will be open to members from April to November 2022. Trust secures cash for Sta�on Wood

The Scottish Land Fund have awarded Crathes Public Hall Trust £22,515 to buy Station Wood from the National Trust for Scotland for a community woodland. Moira Hamilton, Convener, Board of Trustees, Crathes Public Hall Trust, said: “We are delighted to be awarded this Scottish Land Fund grant which will enable us to purchase the 2.2 acres of woodland surrounding our current and future community hall for events such as barbecues, picnics, children’s nature clubs, environmental and educational activities and to use as an outside space for hall weddings and for short walks, relaxation and meditation.
