The Villa is facing the Bassac River in the South area of Phnom Penh. According to the client requirement, most of the cooling system will be provided by natural ventilation thanks to the microclimate which provides constant windy weather. Shading systems (made by a thin metal net and wood planks) are designed to avoid direct sunlight inside the house.

This building is placed not far from the seaside. So the outside views and the balconies got great importance. Furthermore, the land where the residence is going to be constructed got a curved shape which affects the building shape. The balconies and the ceilings got curved shapes which generate a black and white texture that changes from the point of view and the distance.

This building complex will face the white seaside of Sihanoukville in Cambodia. This city is going to develop becoming a touristic and business center of the country. The project provides two towers: the lower one will host a hotel equipped with terraces, a casino, and a shopping mall on the first fourth floors. The highest tower will host offices. The project uses white lines which get an irregular pattern on the lower floors turning straight starting from the 5th floor. The hotel tower gets horizontals lines in memory of the sea’s horizon line. The tallest tower gets frames that vertically surround the offices.

The inspiration for this project become from the barcodes that we see every day printed on the daily products. Due to the shape of the area, the building looks narrow: to emphasize this aspect the volume is cut by vertical plans which define the facades.

A residential building for five families with a detached building for guests. Every floor is different in the plan shape according to the client’s request. The effect of uniformity is due to the use of the terraces which surround every floor. The terraces get thinner floor after floor till the roof floor. On the first floor, a wide canopy connects all the buildings to create the effect of a unique volume. An adjustable shading system provides the correct quantity of sun.

Light, wood, prewathered zinc and fire are the elements which play the most important part in this green building. The house’s structure is composed by wood. Big windows bring the light inside, the intensity of natural light is moderated by sun blinds. The dobleside fireplace divides the living room and dining room and it’s visible outside through the big windows. The dimmable led light come out from many cuts in the ceiling giving in the night a kind of natural lighting without strong shadows.
