Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Diversity, equity and inclusion are core institutional values at RWU. We are at a critical inflection point in our national history and in our institutional history for diverse opinions. In both settings, this is a time of powerful momentum for change. In February 2020, we officially launched our three-year Equity Action Plan which is focused on the development of critical mass, capacity building, and culture change. This plan will help us continue to build our campus culture while adding programs and support services that will help you thrive academically, professionally, socially, and emotionally.

Our efforts begin in the classroom with a vibrant and evolving curriculum, and our Faculty Diversity Fellowship, which focuses on equity in instruction. They extend through our commitment to professional development specific to diversity, equity, and inclusion that equips staff to support a diverse student body. Additionally, we facilitate support and communitybuilding through numerous student-facing centers, offices, affinity spaces, clubs, and organizations. Peer education and empowerment groups help students find places to share their stories and have their voices heard.
