Path to success
Our goal is to ensure all students are challenged and supported on the path to success. At RWU, we believe that your preparation for life after college is an ongoing process that starts in your first year and continues as a partnership over the course of your college career and beyond. An investment in an RWU education gives you all of the ingredients for success.

RWU alumnus and former President and CEO of Samsung.
Even with the challenges of the pandemic, 94% our 2020 graduates found success in employment or in graduate school within 6 months of their graduation.

Whether it’s securing internships or writing your resume, the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) will help guide you during your time at RWU and beyond. The center provides comprehensive support to current students and alumni in launching and advancing their careers. Your support from CCPD starts in your first semester and stays with you every step of the way.
Here’s how:

NOT SURE ABOUT A MAJOR OR CAREER PATHWAY? CCPD will help you navigate and explore great professional pathways based on your interests, values and skills. Advisors are available for individualized appointments throughout the semester and offer valuable insights into the job market, occupations, industries, and the necessary steps to pursue opportunities.
LOOKING FOR AN INTERNSHIP? RWU students are connected to hundreds of distinctive internships each year, with companies ranging from KPMG and Pfizer, to Raytheon, Day One, Indeed.com, and the New England Aquarium. Enroll in the Internship & Career Planning Seminar where you’ll develop personal branding materials, learn job/internship search skills, network with alumni, improve your interviewing skills, and more.
THINKING ABOUT LIFE BEYOND AFTER RWU? The CCPD provides a full suite of programs and events each semester with large-scale hiring events/fairs, panel discussions, mock interviews, workshops and professional development sessions involving employers and alumni. Get connected to a robust network of Hawks through The Roger Connection for mentorship, career advice, and personalized connections in your field of interest.
STUDENT SUPPORT: ADVISING, MENTORING, TUTORING
The Center for Student Academic Success (CSAS) is the hub of academic resources and support on campus. Among many other activities, CSAS services for students include the following:
• More than 20,000 hours of writing, math, and science tutoring each year. • A peer mentorship program that matches each incoming student with a current RWU student to assist with the transition from high school to college. • An accessibility services team to help students advocate for any physical or academic accommodations that would help them to be more successful in their coursework. 31
