Women’s Bible Study

SANCTUARY TRADERS AT THE LINCOLN CENTER SUNDAY MARCH 5, 2023: Samantha and Caelyn of Sanctuary Traders of Frankfort, Il present their wares at the Fishing and Hunting Expo in Highland. The women do 18th Century Historical Shows along with hunting and fishing expos and Viking Festivals. ***

HELPING THE HOMELESS ONE MAT AT A TIME: Volunteers are pictured here making mats for the homeless out of plastic grocery bags. It takes 700-900 plastic bags to make a comfy waterproof mat. The ladies here volunteer their own time and efforts to create the mats which take about 25 hours to assemble. Pictured are Chistine Dziadon, Jamie Tarrant Swain, Shawne Duck, Patsy Wahlen, Marci Janas, Andrea Martin, Pat Duck and Nelly Gamboa. The women use the back room at Steve’s on Baltimore in Hegewisch each Wednesday afternoon to assemble the mats. They are looking for more volunteers to help make the mats. If interested, drop by Steve’s on Wednesday afternoons. Bags are also secured from Marsh School, 98th and Exchange, in Vet’s Park via the school Community Service Department, Ms. Canales and Mr. O’Brien ***

ENJOYING THE FISHING AND HUNTING SHOW AT THE LINCOLN CENTER IN HIGHLAND: Judy Marten, Paul; Marten and Chirs Rich, all of Dyer, Indiana enjoy perusing the fishing and hunting expo at the Lincoln Center on Sunday. The expo spanned 3 days and featured examples of fishing and hunting and equipment by experts in the fields along with huge fish tanks depicting different types of fish one could catch.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY International Women’s Day, Mar. 8, is a global day celebrating the historical, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also observed in support of taking action against gender inequality around the world. We all know the world couldn’t run without women. This is the day to appreciate their efforts! Organizations large and small come together to show women just how valuable they are in today’s society.
