Rock Casino Northern Indiana Donates $25K to Salvation Army of Lake County

Gary, IN (May 4, 2023) Today, Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana donated $25,000 to the Salvation Army of Lake County Indiana. At a special ceremony, Matt Schuffert, President of Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana presented Captain Amanda Keene, Corps Officer in charge of the Gary-Merrillville Community Center with an oversized check for $25,000. The funds will support programs and services provided by the community center including the Pathway of Hope initiative that helps recipients build a future by connecting them to additional support services such as job training, housing options, health services, childcare and education.

According to Schuffert, “Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana is proud to partner with The Salvation Army of Lake County. They make a huge impact to the community, and we want to see that continue.”

“We are truly blessed to be receiving these funds today,” said Captain Keene. “We are especially grateful for a partner that has been helping us year after year.”

The Gary-Merrillville Corps Community Center provides rent, utilities and food assistance to those who are at risk of homelessness and hunger. The center also provides summer and after-school programs for local children, youth activities, as well as support services for women and seniors.
