Markus Zimmermann

Markus Zimmerman is a native Bernese Oberländer. He grew up in Interlaken, and despite his fondness of travelling, Interlaken remains the place he refers to as home. It is not only because of the area’s dynamic landscape and striking topography, but also due to the vigorous energy the surrounding lakes and mountains are considered to provide. He knows the perils and risks, yet simultaneously loves the region’s magnificent glaciers, the impressive mountains with their rugged faces and steep cliffs, the numerous narrow winding canyons, and the rapid brooks and rivers. Over the years, Markus Zimmerman has developed eyes like a hawk. He can spot the specific details, the stunning ambiences, and the extraordinary settings that are evidently seized by his camera. Both at home and abroad, his flexibility, versatility, and eye for precision have granted him access to unique places and diverse terrain, in which to explore and capture in his photographs.
