NOA* NETWORK OF ARCHITECTURE BOLZANO / BERLIN

Noa* is the essential expression of a collaborative workethos: the young team of architects & designers, led by founders Stefan Rier, born in 1979, and Lukas Rungger, born in 1977, is based in Bolzano, South Tyrol, Italy and Berlin, Germany. The architects’ main focus is on an interdisciplinary approach to design, continuously evolving depending on both nature and the specific requirements of each project. By following the concept of “emergence”, where the whole is perceived as being far greater than the sum of its parts, a holistic approach and strategy is central to the way noa* conceives design. Messner House-impression that shows the merging of old and new in the kitchen and living room area.

This place encourages relaxation in a setting, perfectly in harmony with nature.

Taking a bath while enjoying the breathtaking views of the Alpine panorama. Visual links harmoniously integrate the complex into the Alpine environment. The ground floor plan is based on the plan of the former building, thus respecting the topography and landscape requirements.

The combination of old and new pervades the entire design concept and pays homage to the original architectural language of the building.

The Valentinerhof hotel, completed in 2017, is located in Castelrotto, Italy, next to the well-known Seiser Alm. After noa* had reconstructed and extended the building in 2011, the architects were commissioned to evaluate a rebuilding concept that would pay homage to the hotel’s original architecture and maintain its identity in harmony with the surrounding nature. The reconstruction is intended to reinforce the concept of integrating nature even further by establishing a visual relationship to the surrounding mountain scenery from every point of the hotel.
