This qualification is aimed at aspiring teachers and those interested in working in a support role with a more senior qualified teaching instructor. It will give the skills and understanding required to assist in the delivery of a pre-prepared swimming session.

The STA Level 2 Award in Swimming Teaching is for anyone wanting to teach up to 10 beginners. It enables the holder to deliver the STAnley Series of awards and also the Octopus and Goldfish Series of STA’s International Learn to Swim Programme. Holders of this award may also act as an assistant swimming teacher and may teach larger classes or advanced skills under the direct supervision of a swimming teacher qualified to certificate level.

What will I learn?

STA Baby & Pre-school is a stand-alone course to train swimming teachers in the special skills required when introducing babies and very young children to aquatic activities.

What will I learn?

What will I learn?

open water swimming coaching Who is it for?

The Level 2 Award for Open Water Swimming Coaching (QCF) has been developed by the National Open Water Coaches Association (NOWCA) and accredited by the STA and is recognised by the QCF Register at Level 2 with Ofqual.

The Level 2 course is run by qualified NOWCA National Tutors and Assessors and is a one day attendance.

What will I learn?

The theory and practical elements to the Level 2 course are relevant for swimmers who are moving from pool to open water, doing their first open water race, in need of confidence and efficient techniques and wish to swim faster in open water. Coaches will learn how to run, manage and operate lake facilities, produce important procedures such as SOP’s and EAP’s etc. Learn the basics to safe and effective group and individual coaching in Open Water. They will be creating risk assesments and learning to write session plans. There are diverent levels of pass depending on the qualifications you bring to the course as well as the standards attained on the course.

Payment Policy

- All courses must be paid in full within 7 days of receipt of invoice. - Payment can be made by Bank Transfer / Debit Card / *Credit Card. - Post- dated cheques will not be accepted. - Course fees are non-refundable. - Non-attended courses are forfeited and course fee are non- refundable. - Courses fees are non- transferable without 28 days written notice and will incur an administration charge of ÂŁ35. - Payment of your course binds your contract with Trained:UK Terms & Conditions - Course package and discounts must be used on the courses offered at the given at the time. Any cancellation or transfer of such a course, if applicable, the higher course cost must be paid.

Liability Policy

- Trained:UK will endeavour to inform candidates of any course cancellation / venue changes within 14 days of course start date. - If an alternative course transfer cannot be offered, a full refund will be granted at no charge, Trained:UK cannot be held responsible for any expenses incurred by the candidate. - Trained:UK reserves the right to cancel courses if the minimum candidate numbers have not been met within 14 days of the course start date. An alternative course start date will be offered. Trained:UK cannot be held responsible for any expenses incurred by the candidate. - During parent and toddler events / courses Trained:UK cannot accept responsibility for public health issues due to pool contamination (fecal / vomit). It is parents / guardians responsibility to ensure babies / toddlers are wearing adequate nappy protection. - In the event of course cancellation due to pool contamination, course dates will be rearranged. Course refunds will not be issued. - Learners must not attend courses during periods of illness. - Please report any accidents or near misses to a member of Trained:UK staff. - Please respect all course venue property, staff and facilities. - Physical / verbal aggression will not be tolerated under any circumstances and will result in the cancellation of your booking and removal from the course without financial reimbursement. DW Sports Centres - Non-DW Members are not permitted to use the gym / pool facilities unless under the direct instruction of Trained:UK staff. - Food and drink must not be consumed on the premises unless purchased from the cafe / shop. - Please respect all venue property, staff and facilities. - DW Sports reserve the right to close the pool / gym / classroom at any time. Allerthorpe Lakeland Park - Food and drink must not be consumed on the premises unless purchased from the cafe / shop. - Do not enter the lake without direct supervision and direction of Trained:UK staff. - Please respect all venue property, staff and facilities. - Allerthorpe Lakeland Park reserve the right to close the centre at any time. Course Policy

- Report to reception / course tutor to register your arrival. - Please use changing facilities in accordance with your gender. - Upon booking, Trained:UK will inform learners of exactly what footwear, apparel and any equipment they must bring to meet the course requirements. - It is the learners responsibility to ensure they have the correct footwear and apparel for their course. If apparel and footwear are not suitable, learners will not be permitted to take part in the course and their course fee will be forfeited and without transfer. - Upon booking, Trained:UK will inform learners of any pre-course coursework they will need to complete. The appropriate manuals will be issued in accordance with the duration required to complete any pre-course coursework. - It it the learners responsibility to ensure they arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the course. - Once the course has begun, late arrivals will not be accepted and your course fee will be forfeited without transfer. - Parents / Guardians must be readily available to collect any learners under the age of 16 at the end of their course. - Trained:UK reserve the right to change tutor / examiner / assessor without notification to learners. - Photography / video are not permitted without written consent from Trained:UK Office. - It is the learners responsibility to ensure they meet course prerequisites prior to course commencement. Trained UK will not be held responsible for candidates not meeting course prerequisites, learners will not be permitted to take part in the course and their course fee will be forfeited and without transfer. - Active IQ learners will be offered two written theory paper resits free of charge, any additional resits will be subject to an additional administration charge of ÂŁ35 per resit. All other awarding body theory resits are charged at ÂŁ35 per resit. - All practical examination resit are subject to an assessment day rate, rates are variable from course to course and will be advised by Trained:UK prior to rebooking.

Qualifications

- Certification will only be issued once all course pre-requisites are met and the learner has successfully completed all course requirements. - In the event of non-payment or dispute, certificates will not be issued until resolved.

Adverse Weather Conditions

- Courses may be cancelled by Trained:UK in the event of adverse weather conditions. - We will not be able to refund these courses but they will be rescheduled. - In the event of learner course cancellation due to adverse weather conditions, course fees will not be refunded or transferred.

Complaints / Feedback Policy

- If you have any complaints or feedback to make, please contact Trained:UK to request a complaints and / or feedback form. - These terms and conditions are attached to every email enquiry and posted for telephone / postal enquiries upon request. - Company policies will be issued by email upon booking. Please contact Trained:UK to request paper copies. - Complaints will be investigated within 24 hours of receipt.
