Nilufer Kozikoğlu Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi’nden 1995de mezun oldu. Yüksek lisansını Londra’da Architectural Association Design Research Laboratory, Tasarım Araştırma Laboratuvarı’nda tamamladı.

KÜNYE PROFILE

Tuşpa 2000 yılından bu yana mimarlık alanında hizmet veriyor: Mobilyadan kentsel ölçeğe ölçeklerarası tasarım alanlarında araştırma ve üretim odaklı ilişkisel modelleme anlayışı ile projeler üretiliyor.

Nilüfer Kozikoğlu is a graduate of Mimar Sinan University, Istanbul, 1995, with masters degree in architecture and urban design from Architectural Association, School of Architecture, London in 2003. She runs her studio in Levent and her workshop in Maslak, Istanbul. She started her profession with a contractual supervisor architect role at the YapıKredi Operations Center Project in 1997 and has kept an internationally connected profile. She taught seminar and design courses at graduate and undergraduate levels as guest professor at Yıldız Technical University 2004-2012. Her work has been published in UK, Italy and Germany, exhibited at Garanti Gallery, YEM and Antrepo, Istanbul. She was selected to represent Istanbul in the Istanbul-London architectural exchange program by Architecture Foundation, 2010. Publications include a book by Garanti Gallery and articles at ECAADE, ARCADIA, various academic and commercial magazines.

Projects and design research at Tuspa range from urban analysis and parametric design to commercial fitout projects. Psychiatry, elderly care, rehabilitation and hospital programs have become one expertise since 2000. Another area of experience have accumulated on new applications of concrete and casting. Numeric urban analysis, diagrammatic and parametric methodologies are incessant part of the studio workflow. Out of 14 competition projects, 5 have been awarded. Work is published in ARCH+, Domus and RIBA Journal.

URBAN DESIGN KENTSEL TASARIM

Kızyakup, kentsel tasarım alanında bir yarışma projesi. Mansiyon ödülü kazandı. Proje raporundan alıntı: “Bursa Kızyakup Park tasarımı teknolojik ile doğalın, tasarlananla kendiliğinden oluşanın, pastoral ile kentselin, hızlı ile yavaş olanın, heyecanlı ile sakin olanın içiçe geçtiği bir alandır. GSM Parkı yanyana duran tarlalar gibi dizilen ancak akışkan, aynı topolojiyi kesintisiz paylaşan yüzeylerle kurgulandı. GSM Binası kütlenin iriliğine rağmen yoğunluk gerektiren programları gömmesiyle bir binadan çok deneyim mekanı olarak algılanırken, gezintiler için bir düzenleyici, uçta Uludağ’a ve farklı vistalara dönerek bakan kulesiyle de bir heykel (landmark) aynı zamanda”

Bursa K覺zyakup Urban Park at Osmangazi Bursa, is an urban rehabilitation project, the competition entry, 2007, received mention award. The derelict site of former squatter houses 70.000m2 is located at the old city, on the touristic walkpath. The brief required minimal load of program and gradual distribution of green areas and related leisure programs. Tuspa worked out an interplay of green areas with degrees of human interaction and hard surfaces, creating multiple routes for the everyday user, like the business luncher, the student, the artisan, etc as well as for differing accessibilities, like the strolling mother, the elderly, the walking disabled, etc.

ANALYSIS FOR REDEVELOPMENT AND URBAN DESIGN KENTSEL DÖNÜŞÜM VE TASARIM İÇİN ANALİZ VE GÖRSELLEŞTİRME

Preliminary analysis and criteria setting for builtspace rehabilitation concerning the hospital sites of Istanbul University, 2010. Situated at the core of the historic Istanbul Suriçi area, the two renowned hospital campuses of IU need instant update and modification due to old and rundown infrastructure, incompatible buildings for current eathquake codes and forces of urban change. The dossier is a brief study to understand the challenges of the current location and change of premises. Main goal of modernization of the buildings and the infrastructure is also coinciding with the new transportation system that reconnects this old town area to larger city therefore increasing potentials. On the other hand the university as a whole is one among 200 such historic and well established universities of the world an the site is integral to the legacy. The presence of these academic matris has eliclited a strong community in the area, total erasure of the program causes urban trauma, a strict gentrification.

Istanbul Üniversitesi Hastaneleri Çapa ve Cerrahpaşa alanları için suriçi bölgesini içeren veri toplama, görselleştirme ve değerlendirme kriterleri analizi. Her iki hastane kampüsünde de güncel şartlara uyum sağlayamayan eklemlenerek kaotik hal almış ve bakımı yeniden yapımından pahalıya gelen yapı stoğu, deprem faktörü ile de yeniden yapılmayı gerektiriyor. Bu rejenerasyon süreci öncesi yerdeğiştirme, ve veya yerinde yeniden yapılaşma olasılıklarında alanın çevreyle ilşikisi, eğitim ve tedavi süreclerinin kentsel etkileşim olanakları gibi kriterlerle alanlaarın değerlendirilmesi için bir avan rapor hazırlandı.

PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS FOR REDEVELOPMENT AND CAMPUS DESIGN DÖNÜŞÜM İÇİN ANALİZLERİ VE YERLEŞKE TASARIMI Bakırköy Ruh ve Sinir Hastalıkları hastanesinin alanı için konsept proje hastane yönetimi tarafından talep edilen varyasyonların ve saha dinamiklerinin analizini içeren bir süreç projesidir. Parametrik modelleme araçları ile çoklu senaryolar üzerinden alan potansiyellerinin belirlenmesidir. Hasta sirkülasyonunun irdelenmesinden yeşil alanların tesbitine kadar bir dizi araştırma yürütüldü.Proje kapsamında İngiltere’de örnek hastane ziyaretleri yapıldı. Varolan fiziki şartların yetersizliği ve değişen hastane normları ile bu 1500 yataklı kampüsün psikiyatri terapi mekanlarının yeniden yorumlanması gerekti.

Bakırköy Hospital for Psychiatry and Neurology redevelopment plan, 2008. This project extended almost a 2 year span, focused on the potentials on a site prone to redevelopment both as land and as program. Although the whole site had been devoted to the psychiatric pogram, there has been invasive sharing and currently still more change is worked on by both city health authorities as well as the ministry. The scope included investigation on criteria governing the site and extrapolation of differing scenarios.

2009, Forensic Psychiatric Clinics Sample Design and specifications setting commissioned by the Ministry of Health. With a team of psychiatrists and administartors from Bakırkoy Hospital, the project output is a dossier for the PPP department in the ministry used to convey future architects the requiremments and principles. Therefore rather than a sheer building design it is a set of design rules and parametric templates, defining the design and evaluation criteria, such as adaptability, flexibility, levels of security and emergency, modes of operation, etc. Psikiyatri Kliniklerinin özel bir hali olan Yüksek Güvenlikli Sağlık Kurumları için Bakanlığın ihalelerinde örnek proje olarak kullanılan konsept projeler. Yüksek Güvenlikli Sağlık Kurumları yasa ile tanımlanan ve hükümlü psikiyatri hastalarının tedavisi için planlanan yapılar. Bu yapıların kent içine entegre edilmesi, psikiyatr, hemşire ve diğer tüm çalışanların iş alanlarının tasarımı, hastalarının genel hastanede kalış süresinden farklı olarak en uzun süre barındıran bu kurumlar için tasarımda hasta ayakizlerinin gerektirdiği alanlar geniş tutulmaya gayret edilerek, mekansal yaşam ve güvenlik kaliteleri ve yeşil alan olanakları sağlandı.

EXEMPLARY DESIGN AND SPECIFICATIONS SETTING ÖRNEK PROJE TASARIM KRİTERLERİNİN HAZIRLANMASI

2010, Sample Clinic Layout and Hospital Schematic Design for Psychiatric Care commissioned by the Bakırkoy Psychiatry Hospital. The project is a continuation from the forensic hospital exemplary design this time focusing on acute psychiatric care clinics. parametric layout studies and adaptation to varoys sites are major dividents of the project.

Psikiyatri klinikleri örnek projesinin farklı illerde hastane kampüslerine master plan ölçeğinde uygulanması.

2009, site adaptations to various focus sites of the ministry of health for Campus Hospitals Scheme such as Etlik and Bilkent Ankara, İkitelli and Bakırköy, İstanbul, Trabzon and Kayseri.

Forsen Sennebogen Office and Service Building, Gebze, İstanbul, 2006 Forsen Eğitim ve Servis Binası, Gebze 2006

BUILDING DESIGN BİNA TASARIMI

Sennebogen yükleme/boşaltma ürünlerinin Türkiye temsilcisi olan Forsen’in Bakım Servis ve Eğitim Merkezi olarak kullanmak üzere yaptırdığı bu yapı Gebze’de TEM otoyolu ve D100 karayolunun çakıştığı Dilovası Sanayi Bölgesi içinde yeralıyor. 2006 yılında kullanıma geçen bina bodrumda depolar, giriş ve mezaninde ofisler, çatıda eğitim ve yemek salonu şeklinde 3 ana kattan oluşuyor. Forsen Sennebogen Education and Service Center, completed in 2006 is located on the crossroads of D100 and TEM, in Gebze, İstanbul. 1174 sqm building is designed to restrain from northern winds and opened up to SouthEast for the meeting areas. Offices look inwards, the layout exploits the slope in this tiny triangular site to separate a parts store and warehouse from the main building entrance. Truck manouvres and handling tracks were major design drivers.

BUILDING DESIGN AND CONTROL WORKS YAPI TASARIMI VE KONTROL İŞLERİ

100 bed annex to Bolu Government Hospital in 2000. Commissioned by the German Red Cross, the annex served as a remedy after the earthquake of 1999 as the main building was severely damaged. The append with six operation rooms served for over 6 years as the main hospital until the former got consolidated. The scope included project design and tendering documents and process as well as local control of the construction undertaken by Garanti Balfour Beatty. The site is on TEM that connects Ankara to Istanbul, equidistant to both cities.

Alman Kızılhaçı 1999 depreminde kullanıma kapatılan Bolu İzzet Baysal Devlet Hastanesi’nin bahçesine geçici önüretimli bir ek yapmak için girişimde bulundu. Tuşpa’da 6 mimar biraraya gelerek 3 ay içinde proje ve ihale dokümanlarını hazırladı, 1 ayda ihaleyi gerçekleştirdi ve Garanti Balfour Beatty tarafından 4 ayda tamamlanan inşaatın kontrol işlerini yaptı. Temmuz 2011 de hizmete açılan 100 yataklı kapasiteli hastane ve 3 ameliyathane, 20 muayene odası ile hizmete açıldı. 6 yıl genel hastane olarak tam kapasite kullanıldıktan sonra 2007’de ana binanın güçlendirilmesinin ardından psikiyatri hastanesi olarak kullanılmak üzere devredildi.

Bolu Government Hospital annex that Tuspa had designed got reassigned to become the psychiatric care clinics after the consolidation on the main building. The Reprogramming and Fitout Design project is about the shift of the inner spaces from general hospital to psychiatric program, This project in 2006 introduced Tuspa with the psychiatric spaces, that then followed by Bakırkoy and other related projects.

Psikiyatri kliniklerine dönüşüm için yendien programlama ve iç mekan projesi hazırlandı. Genel hastane ile terapi süreleri farklı olan hasta ve hemşire ayakizlerinin gündüz yaşam alanlarında daha yoğun olarak geçtiği bu klinikleri bakımevinden ayıran temel özellik rehabilitasyon.

BUILDING ADAPTATION DESIGN AND TENDER DOCUMENTATION YAPI EKİ VE YENİLEME TASARIMI VE İHALE DOSYASI

Inmate Psychiatric Care Clinic Project at Bakırköy, Istanbul involved the rooms of the patients to be refurbished, building renovation with additional wing and annex. A visitors room and a new dayroom added, with new bathroom facilities, and a new ward. Total of 56 beds and 1078 sqm on one floor, the project challenged current regulations and targeted European human rights standards. Tutuklu Psikiyatri Kliniği Bakırköy’de halen zayıf fiziki şartlar altında çalışan bir klinik. Porje hastane yönetimi tarafından varolan fiziki şartların iyileştirilmesi ve yeni bir yataklı kanadaın eklenerek gündüz yaşam alanlarının alanlarının artırılması şeklinde idi.

TV Tower Istanbul competetion entry, 2012

LANDMARK DESIGN AND PARAMETRIC DESIGN PARAMETRİK TASARIM VE ANIT TASARIMI

2012, TV tower for Istanbul Project is the design of a parametric model that works on animating surface formation. TV towers are usually located at a height open to atmpspheric conditions and face major behaviour differences between their surfaces. The project addresses this apparent phenomena. In order to arrive at a self affecting shadows and maintain the ratio of surfaces apt for northern to southern winds the parametric model is set up. Istanbul is lucky in the number of days the sky is clear and vision distance is deep. Tepekule preferred the SE S SW and W as major view trajectories. Manzara/seyir hava şartları ile birebir ilişkili. Yakın geçmişten iklim verilerine göre İstanbul görüş alanı için şanslı bir kent. Birkaç belirli fırtına dönemi ve kışın bir iki hafta hariç manzara kentin kendi topoğrafyasının kendine sunduğu doğal bir fırsat. Kulede seyir için göğe-balkon tasarımında manzara yönlenmesi kadar hakim rüzgar yönleri ve güneşlenme alanları ön plana çıkıyor. Kentin manzarasız yönü yok; bununla birlikte hakim manzara yönlenmesinin KB-GD aralığında olduğu düşünülebilir. Güneş batışında siluet, “grup” İstanbul edebiyatının parçası, göğe-balkonun da hitap ettiği ana yön olacaktır.

RESTITUTION AND RESTORATION RESTİTÜSYON VE RESTORASYON Bu koruma kararlı arsa ve yapı grubu Beylerbeyi’nde batıya bakan bir sırt olan Küplüce’de yeralıyor. Beylerbeyi Bizans döneminden beri önemli sayfiyelerden biri ve sarayın inşaası ile daha da yoğunlaşmış erken belediyeleşen bölgelerden biri. Koruma kapsamında burda bulunan sık sık değişiklik göstermiş geç dönem Osmanlı konut tipoljisinin birebir fiziki özelliklerinden çok Osmanlı sokak dokusunun sürdürülmesi amaçlanabilir.

Restoration Project for this Beylerbeyi site involves archeological site survey, elevation survey, restitution and restoration projects. Research includes on visual/and written informaton regarding the geometries od the demolished buildings as well as to define current ways of dweling and building technologies to conform with this 19th century habitation,2011 ongoing.

Rehabilitation Hotel and Wellness Center Project focused for hospice programs, or Elderly and the Disabled in Antalya. The facility is a mixed use project with hotel, seniorcare and rehabilitation hospital areas distributed in 12500sqm construction area. Local environmental dataand analysis are effective in the design of this year round active center. 2012. Antalya’da Döşemealtı’nda Mukaddes Aksoy Huzurevleri için hazırlanan bu proje Wellness merkezi ve Rehabilitasyon oteli ileri yaş ve uzun nekahat gerektiren hastalıklar, fizik tedavi gerekleri için hazırlanan yılboyu turizm hedefleyen bir yapı.

This competetion entry for Dallas is about density and porosity to allow for passive microclimatisation and urban production possibilities. 2007 Orta ölçekli konut projesi Dallas da güncel teknoloj,iler ve kentsel tarım olgusunu konut tipolojisi ile birleştirilmesini talep eden bir yarışma önerisi

FITOUT DESIGN AND CONTROL WORKS İÇMEKAN TASARIMI VE KONTROL İŞLERİ Genel tipolojisi iş yeri mekanı olan bu 300m2 alanda, 7/24 çalışma programı geçerli. Akustik şartlandırma için tüm duvarlar çift kat alçıpanel arası kauçuk ile kaplandı. Ayrıca tavanda dik ve sıralı asma kumaş akustik paneller ile duvarda ekspoze düzenli yönlü yonga levha (OSB) kaplamalarla ve zeminde halı kaplama ile yüzey akustiği düzenlendi. Levhalarda yonga yüzeyleri ve gazbeton örgünün dokusu özellikle okunaklı bırakıldı yormadan görsel canlılık için renkli parlak yüzeylerle oranlı kullanıldı.

Call Center Fitout Design for the 112 Emergency line of Istanbul realized in 2010. A 400 sqm call center and offices acoustic, work environment and furniture design adaptive to 7x24 tempo. All furniture is produced with plywood, with calm and contrasting colour palette enhancing concentration. The inner hall connects upper and lower work areas with continuous visual connection, Major emphasis of the brief was on audio quality, ambient daylight penetration.

FITOUT DESIGN VE CONTRACT İÇ MEKAN TASARIMI VE UYGULAMA

2007, ALP CHEMICALS ofis mekanlarının Kurtköyden kent merkezine taşınmasında Tuşpa proje ve uygulama desteği verdi.

2007, ALP CHEMICALS office fitout project and works for 600m2 area. Move from Kurtköy warehouse to city loft for this import-export company meant fast construction and refurbishment in 2 months and thus sleek concrete flooring and minimal furniture and spacious layout. Tuspa was undertook with project and the works.

2012, ADEC ofisi maslak iş kulelerinden birinde statndart altyapı üzerinden ekibin çalışma düzenlerine uyumlu alanların projelendirilmesi

2012, ADEC office fitout for Avitec in a Maslak tower. The project focused to arrive at fluid office working environment for this dynamic speedy company for highend AV environments. The porject is a 300 m2 that hosts 18 pax, 2 meeting rooms and 2 directors offices.

RESEARCH AND EXHIBITIONS ARAŞTIRMA VE SERGİLER

2006-2008 Fibrous Structures Resarch project, Workshops and Fibrous Room Exhibition, Garanti Gallery. The series is an investigation into the potentials of new advents in concrete with structural operations and patterns. The exhibition exposed the project by hosting one experiment in the gallery, therefore concrete pumping and curing was part of the exhibition. The project is coworked with EcoLogic Studio, AKT and is internationally published.

2005-7, SPEC is a design research project that started at a workshop with students, took part in a UIA competetion and won second prize. It is widely exhibited across universities and in public areas. Currently resides at Bahçeşehir University Architecture Department.

2006-2008 Lifli Strüktürler araştırması iki yıl arka arkaya İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi ve Architectural Association ile gerçekleşen uluslararası çalıştayın ardından Garanti Galeri’de bir sergi ile sonlandırıldı. 2005-2007 tarihlerinde yürütülen SPEC ise tasarım araştırması olarak Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesinde başlayan ve önce ulusal bir yarışmada ikincilik ardından defalarca sergilenerek kullanılan bir enstalasyon.
