FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13 Longleaf Tree Walk – 2-3pm. Free. Join educators from Halyburton Park on an hour-long hike to explore the unique life cycle of the longleaf pine, one of North Carolina’s most iconic trees. The hike will highlight longleaf pines at all stages of growth, the historic significance of the tree to North Carolina’s early coastal industries, and modern efforts to restore longleaf forests through the use of prescribed fire. Participants are required to follow all COVID-19 guidelines, socially distance and wear face coverings if social distancing isn’t possible.
