Preparing your mobile device for a performance of Stefan Prins’s FITTINGinSIDE (2007) The “Desktop/Laptop -> Mobile device” Approach The easiest way to move the mp3 file from the Internet to your personal mobile device is to use your desktop or laptop as an intermediary. To do that, follow these simple steps: 1. Open the browser on your desktop or laptop (for example Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer.) 2. Surf to www.bit.ly/FITTINGinSIDE It should look like this:

3. Give it a listen, then “right mouse click” on the white player field in the middle of the screen. (For Mac users, that is a two-finger click). 4. A drop down menu should appear That looks like this:

5. Click “Save video as…” 6. Choose a destination (for example “desktop”) for your file and then hit “Save.” 7. Now use iTunes for the iPhone or Kies for Android to load the file into your favorite media player on your most preferred mobile device.

The “Direct to your Mobile Device” Approach This approach is a bit trickier and may require you to download additional software onto your device. If you are not an advanced mobile device user, please slog through the directions above. Proceed further at your own risk. **IPhone users: go visit the app store and install the Dropbox app (www.dropbox.com) or Google Drive app (www.drive.google.com) now. You’ll need it. **Android users: it will probably be easier for you if you install the Dropbox app, too. Who knows, it might come in handy one day in the future.

1. Open the browser on your mobile device of choice. 2. Surf to: www.bit.ly/FITTINGinSIDE It should look something like this:

3. Click on the Export button. On the iPhone, it’s that one right there, centered at the bottom of your screen. Here’s a picture:

4. Choose the cloud service to which you’d like to save it. i.e. Dropbox, Google Drive. (See above.)

Here’s another fine piece of artwork:

**If this button does not appear in the drop-up menu, that means you have not installed the appropriate app (correctly). Shame on you! Please use the links above to find out how to install a cloud service. Remember, you need to tell your mobile device where to store this precious little gem of a file. 5. Once you’ve downloaded the mp3, close the browser and open your cloud service’s app (Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, etc). 6. Find the freshly downloaded mp3 and make it “available offline.” In Dropbox, those steps look like this:

Give it a listen just to see if it works. Have fun and look out for any crazy trombonists. ***Don’t forget to bring your own headphones! ***

You’re all set!
