Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 12 hosted an annual Tactic Assist Visit with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Weapons School Pacific (HSCWSP) onboard Naval Air Facility (NAF) Atsugi from Feb. 7 to Feb. 25, 2022 to provide an assessment of HSC 12’s warfighting capacities, while additionally providing training to ensure it is continually improving its combat effectiveness in all tactical mission areas. Capt. During the event, participants paraded through the streets of Yamato with local Japanese citizens performing various traditional dances.

Naval Air Facility Atsugi held its annual open base festival, Bon Odori ,on August 19.During the event, visitors to the base shared music, food, traditional Japanese dancing, carrying of the Mikoshi Shinto shrine and other aspects of the Japanese culture with members of the Naval Air Facility Atsugi community, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and local communities.
