Mokokchung gets new GA rest house

DIMAPUR: As part of the platinum jubilee year of Gauhati High Court, a tree plantation drive was kicked off at New High Court Complex, Meriema on April 14.

During the drive, 14 variety of trees, both ornamental and fruit bearing trees, numbering were planted around the vicinity of the new High court complex, Meriema.
The plantation drive was graced by advisor of Law and Justice, TN Mannen.

In a short speech, Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, MLA, encouraged the youths from different districts of the state to discover their talents and seek guidance to hone their skills.
Principal director, School Education, Thavaseelan K said the larger problem faced by students after completion of college the students was the “next step”. He said such confu- sion has caused unemployment problem, which was posing as a “ticking time bomb” for the youth.
To address such issue, Thavaseelan said there was a need to identify the interest of students in early stage and skill them so that they are employable.

Mannen also lauded lauded the judicial fraternity, especially the various Bar Associations under Kohima for the initiative and encouraged the law practitioners to inculcate a fresh and progressive mind.
Pointing out that Nagaland Land Law has become an integral part of Naga Municipal Act, he assured to try and organize the Nagaland Land Law during the drafting in such a manner that it will benefit not only the urban dwellers but also in interest of the rural area as well.
The advisor also stressed for early completion of the new High Court Complex at the earliest, and said that he will discuss with the chief minister to ensure that the dream of all Nagas for the early completion of the complex was realized in record time.

NPGN/NNC (N/A) lauds GoI, IM decision
DIMAPUR: NPGN/NNC (N/A) has lauded the government of India and NSCN (I-M) for agreeing to solve the “pending Naga political settlement” issue on the basis of August 3, 2015 “Framework Agreement”.
In a press release, NPGN/NNC (N/A) president, T. Ovung appreciated government of India and NSCN(I-M) for their “fruitful negotiation pertaining to Naga Political” on April 13 at Rhododendron Police Complex Chumoukedima. Ovung said the parties agreeing to solve the “pending Naga Political settlement issue” on the basis of Framework Agreement which would be acceptable to all Nagas people of Nagalim.” Further, Ovung has appealed to the people of “Nagalim” to support/ join hands with the negotiators to enable to solve the problem at the earliest. their careers based on their interest and abilities.
Chuba informed that the program has covered 3000 students with 3394 enrolments in 2020-21 and 3397 students had enrolled in 2021-22.

Fire service week observed at Khuzama
DIMAPUR: Along with the rest of the country, Fire Station, Khuzama observed National Fire Service week on April 14 under the theme; ‘Awareness in Fire Safety for Growth of National Infrastructure’ at Sacred Heart High School Khuzama.
At the programme, officer in charge of Fire Service Khuzama, Maisunsilakbo appealed to the gathering to take note of the demonstration on fire safety measures, LPG care maintenance and safety, rescue technique bandages and use operation of fire extinguishers. He advised the public to not panic during fire incidents but to inform the fire station immediately.
The invocation was offered by Emmanuel Baptist Church Pastor Zakie Metha, while welcome note and closing remark was delivered by Ravolü Chüzho.
It may be noted that LaunchPad, a career guidance and employment skills development program designed for students pursuing their 12th standard in all GHSS across Nagaland, was initiated by the department of Youth Resources and Sports in partnership with YouthNet and supported by the department of School Education.

14 (NPN): The newly constructed General Administration (GA) Rest House, Mokokchung, was inaugurated, Friday, by Advisor, CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo after it was dedicated by MTBA associate pastor, Rev. P Chuba Jamir, in the presence of advisors, Tenjenmenba and Imkongmar, along with the district administration and
CAWD departmental officers.
In his inaugural speech, Kudecho Khamo, lauded the officials of CAWD and the contractor for the successful completion of the rest house and described it as one of the best rest house in the state. Khamo expressed the hope that the rest house would cater to the people in need, as emphasized by the CAWD officials, not of Mokokchung but the adjoining districts, as well.
Earlier, short speeches were delivered by advisor of Transport and Technical Education, Tenjenmenba, advisor of Minorities Affairs and Sericulture, Imkongmar and Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Shashant Pratap Singh,. The technical report was delivered by Executive Engineer (CAWD) Er. Sungtiba Amer and the function was chaired by EAC, Abinuo Jasmine Ashao.
PHED launches SBCC tool for Jal Jeevan Mission
DIMAPUR: Department of Public Health and Engineering (PHED) launched a Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) tool for Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Information, Education, Communication (IEC) activities on April 13, at the 4th state level co-ordination committee meeting with the State Implementing Support Agency (ISA) North-East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA).
A press release by the department informed that principal secretary, PHED, E Mhonbemo Patton and chief engineer, sanitation and WSSO, PHED, Thsathrichem Sangtam attended the launching programme.
