KODH to celebrate 50 yrs: Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home (KODH) would be celebrating 50 years on April 16 within the home’s vicinity on KohimaDimapur Road. All well-wishers and former children who grew under the care of the home have been requested to join in the celebration.
CMO Wokha informs: Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Wokha office has informed that medical board for service confirmation would be held on April 19-20, 10 a.m. at office premises for all government employees of various departments under Wokha district. All concerned are asked to produce appointment order and birth certificate for the medical board examination.

NNC/FGN meeting: Naga National Council (NNC)/Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has convened its monthly authority meeting on April 24, 10 a.m. at Transit Peace Camp (TPC) Kohima, Nagaland. All the eligible authorities including tatars and CEC members of the NNC/ FGN have been requested to attend the meeting with essential agendas.
DBS wishes: Dimapur Bengali Samaj (DBS) has wished the community a very happy, prosperous and eventful Poila Boishakh. The Samaj hoped that the Bengali New Year would usher in jubilant, opulent, rewarding and socially meaningful times.
Toiho inaugurates Nivishe Village: S. Toiho Yeptho, MLA, on April 12 inaugurated the recently recognized Nivishe Village under Suruhuto constituency and Aghunato Sub-Division in the presence of Dr. Sukhato A Sema, MLA, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali and other leaders.
ABAM organises training: A “contextual training” for associate pastor youth was organised by Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) on April 11-14 at Pine Book Centre, Umbang, Meghalaya. The speakers were, Rev. Dr. Aowapang Pastor Guwahati Ao BA; Rev. Dr. Meyu Changkiri, Pastor, Shillong Ao BA; Butisen Ozüküm; Imli P. Lemtur, Pastor, Jorhat Ao BA; Toshi Sanglir, Secretary, ABAM YM and Teka Imchen, coordinator, ABAM YM.
Distributionofmachineries&demonstrationforfarmers
DIMAPUR: With an objective to skill farmers and enhance agricultural production of the state, agriculture and allied departments distributed machineries, and conducted trainings, demonstrations, field visits for the farmers.
DAO Phek: District Agriculture Office (DAO), Phek distributed farm machineries to Phek Sadar farmers under Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) 2022-23 on April 13.
Speaking as a special guest at the distribution programme, SDO (C), Phek, Tsenthungo E Ngullie, thanked the department of agriculture for providing free farm machineries to the farmers.
He encouraged the farmers to use their machines judiciously and boost agriculture produc- tion to a higher proportion.
Ngullie also encouraged farmers to opt for organic farming for a healthier living.
A keynote address on farm machineries was presented by DAO, Phek L Sunep Pongener. The programme was chaired by AFA, of thanks appreciation were delivered cluding drinking water sources.
ATMA Mokokchung: Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mokokchung, Chuchuyimlang Block conducted a field day on “Production of Vermicompost” on April 13 at Chuchuyimlang Village.
During the visit, resource person, ACTO, KVK, Tuensang, Samuel Anar spoke on the management of vermi bed and post-harvest management of vermicompost.
He also demonstrated vermicompost harvesting by pyramidal heap and explained that this method of harvesting vermicompost takes the advantage of the earthworm’s sensitivity towards light as they will tend to move deep into the pyramid. Screening or sieving, storing and packing of vermicompost was also highlighted.
DPD, ATMA Mokokchung, Sentinaro Longchar also briefed the farmers on the purpose of the field visit. Altogether 18 farmers with ATMA staff from Chuchuyimlang block attended the field day programme.
The department said Social Behaviour Change Communication strategy and tools had been conceptualized and designed based on consultative meetings with various stake - holders and research study. The six posters in English and six local dialects, three animated videos in Nagamese developed by the State ISA NEIDA was launched for capacity building and SBCC campaigns.
