Brazil defender Arthur joins Bayer Leverkusen

RIO DE JANEIRO (BRAZIL), APR 4 (IANS): Brazil international right-back Arthur has joined Bayer Leverkusen from America Mineiro, both clubs said. The 20-year-old will remain at the Brazilian Serie A club until after the U20 World Cup in June, according to an America Mineiro statement on Monday.

DIMAPUR, APR 4 (NPN): Nagaland Veterans Football Association (NVFA) has informed that the Nagaland Veterans Inter-District Football Tournament could not be held for the last few years due to unforeseen circumstances. A press release issued by NVFA president, K. Kire has informed that NVFA has been planning to conduct the tournament this and requested all District Veterans’ Football Associations to start preparations for the same.
It also requested the new districts to immediately form the Veteran’s Football Associations to participate in the tournament. NVFA has informed that a meeting will be called shortly to discuss the ensuing tournament where representatives of all district veterans will be inducted. Any district willing to host the ensuing tournament are also asked to come prepared with their proposal.

DIMAPUR, APR 4 (NPN): Intending candidates (referees) for CAT 5 RIN exam, have been informed that the last date of submission of form/ confirmation will be April 8. It may be noted that Nagaland Football Association (NFA) in collaboration with All India Football Federation (AIFF) will be conducting the 2nd edition of Referee Recruitmentcum-upgradation course 2023 from April 11 to 15 at DDSC ground, Dimapur. Speaking on selected sports disciplines, Metha said that prioritizing of those disciplines is the key to succeed in winning the medals. “We should understand the trends in sports and suggested that Nagas should focus more on weight categories due to our stature”, he added. Metha disclosed that six indoor stadiums have been com- pleted in the state which will soon be inaugurated.
“Stadium should not be confined to badminton stadium alone but it should be a stadium for multidisciplinary disciplines”, he asserted. He also asked the different associations affiliated to NOA to come up with a road-map along with a yearly calendar. He said NOA has commissioned four films on sports which will soon be screening in schools and other events to motivate and encourage sportspersons.
