Minister Amit Shah on Monday asserted that the NDPPBJP coalition will retain power in Nagaland and it will solve all problems of the state.
Addressing an election rally at local ground Mon Town, Shah also assured the people of expeditiously bringing the Naga peace talks to a successful end and also addressing the issues of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), which has been demanding a separate state.

In response to a call for debate on election manifestos by the BJP to Congress on February 16, Clean Election Movement (CEM) under the aegis of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) said that it would like to facilitate in organizing the public debate by inviting both the parties to take part in a Common Platform.
To increase voters’ knowledge, political accountability and wider democratic participation of com- mon public, CEM convener Dr Villo Naleo requested both BJP and Congress to attend the debate at Dimapur on February 23 at 1 p.m. Naleo said that further details for the common platform would be notified at the earliest after hearing from the two political parties. While maintaining that CEM stood for clean, free, fair and informed choices, Naleo said that the people in Nagaland awaited this occasion with great anticipation.

Prohibitory orders clamped in Thonoknyu
DIMAPUR, FEB 20 (NPN): Following poll-related violence between LJP and NPP workers at Thonoknyu headquarters on February 19, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Noklak K Mhathung Tsanglao has promulgated Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) 1973 with immediate effect and would be applicable till 6am of February 22, 2023 or till further orders. In an order, DC has prohibited the assembly of five or more persons at Thonoknyu Hq and a perimeter of 200 meters around the town.
