About this book This book was made by Grade 1 students at Nagoya International School to help the horseshoe crabs. A student found out that they are endangered when he was reading another book in Japanese called ‘Horseshoe Crabs: From Ancient Times to the Future’ by Hiroshi Sato. After doing some more research about where they are in Japan, he found an organisation called the Makishima Horseshoe Crab and Firefly Raising Association. They help the horseshoe crabs by looking after their habitat. He said that he could help by inspiring his classmates and raising money. That’s why we made this book! Please buy our book to help the horseshoe crabs. Horseshoe crabs are really interesting and important because they are a part of coastal ecosystems and because humans use their blue blood to make vaccines. We need them and all of the other endangered species in this book.
