Karva Chauth

Karva Chauth (Karak Chaturthi) is a festival celebrated by married women especially in the Northern and North-Western parts of India like in Punjab, U.P, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. It comes 4 days after full moon (Purnima) in Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. On this day, married women observe fast (Vrat) for a long and healthy life for their husbands. Women get up before sunrise to have some food as per their traditions which differ in various states. After the pre-dawn meal, they don’t eat anything. Some may not even have water (Nirjala Vrat). Karva Chauth is also a festival celebrating friendship among married women. They spend the day visiting each other, applying Henna (Mehendi) and cosmetics. They buy Karvas (earthen pots), paint them at home and fill them with makeup items, bangles, ribbons and handkerchiefs and exchange them as gifts. Women wear traditional dresses of their states like sari, salwar kurta or lehenga choli in the colors of red, orange and gold which are considered auspicious. Black and white are said to be inauspicious. In the morning, after bath, the women visit temples or pray at home. Then they visit friends or relatives, get together at a place, sit in a circle with their plates for puja. While doing puja and singing songs, they perform ‘Feris’ (passing the plates around in circles). After puja they offer water (Arghya) towards Sun. The rituals vary in different states.

The women chant the following mantras for each God or Goddess.

Shiva-Om Namah Shivaya

Parvati-Om Shivayai Namaha

Ganpati- Om Ganeshaya Namaha

Kartikeya- Om Shanmukhaya Namaha

Moon- Om Chandraya Namaha or Om Somaya Namaha

In the evening the women sit in a circle with plates for puja. They listen to the story of Karva Chauth and story of Ganesh, told by priest or elderly women. There are many legends and stories associated with Karva Chauth.

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 010

Karva Chauth

In between the story, the women sing puja songs, perform Feris and wait for moonrise. Then the woman view moon or its reflection in a vessel filled with water, through a sieve or through the cloth of dupatta. Water filled in Karva, mixed with milk and rosewater, is offered to moon (Arghya) chant ing the mantra. Then she completes 4 times of circumambulation followed by prostration before moon. Her husband takes water from the plate and offers it to his wife breaking her fast. After that, Udyapan is done. After that only, the fasting woman takes her food.

The legend of Karva is about a woman named Karva who was devoted to her husband (Pativrata) due to which she attained spiritual power. While bathing in river a crocodile caught her husband. Karva bound the crocodile with a cotton yarn and asked Yama, the God of Death, to send it to hell. Yama refused, saying that the crocodile has few more years to live. Then Karva threatened to curse Yama. Knowing that the curse of a pativrata woman would be powerful, Yama sent the crocodile to hell. And Karva’s husband was blessed with long life.

Thus, Karva Chauth is a symbol of a strong bond based on deep love, devotion and trust between husband and wife. Wife observes fast praying for a healthy and long life for her husband. And the belief is that the couple will be blessed with a happy and prosperous married life.

Festivals !!!!! I LOVE THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR !!!!!

Celebration Time !!! Festival Time !!

It’s loaded with Festivals !!! It bring us together, it gives a good time to rejoice and built strong bonds between everyone.

Celebrating festivals is an great opportunity for us to teach our kids about being with everyone, to meet and greet everyone as well as teach them the importance of togetherness. One of the main reasons celebrations are so important is because it reflects an overall attitude of gratitude and enjoying what we have, instead of focusing on what we don’t have or only on what we want in the future.

Festivals are an beautiful way to celebrate our glorious heritage, culture and traditions. They are meant to rejoice special moments and emotions in our lives with our loved ones. They play an important role to add structure to our social lives, and connect us with our families and backgrounds.I mostly enjoy our traditional sweets , the chaklis, the karanjis, the shankarpara, sev and mouthwatering Ladoos !!!!

Family time can serve as an escape from the demands and deadlines of daily life, and is paramount in building strong relationships. The result of such closeness is they can ask for advice, lend a helping hand, and feel the unconditional support and love that is essential for mental health. Family time offers many benefits, including building confidence, creating a stronger emotional bond between family members, improving communication skills, better performance in school and reduced behavioral issues, as well as providing an opportunity to make memories built on fun, laughter and togetherness.

Spending time in everyday family leisure activities has been associated with greater emotional bonding within families. leisure activities, such as playing a board game, watching television together can have a big impact on the overall health of a family.

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 013

Festival

One of the most important benefits of spending time together during festival get togethers is creating memories that will last a lifetime. Whether it's playing a game together, attending an event, going on vacation or just sitting in the living room or around the table talking and laughing, positive memories are beloved possessions that give family members a sense of belonging and can help reinforce the importance of family.

Children learn how to behave and communicate by watching their parents interact with each other and others. Family bonding time is a way to model expected behaviors, and spending time together as a family can help parents relate more to their children and open the lines of communication.

It also had a very positive impact on our young adolescents as well. The ones who communicate and spend more time with their extended families and cousins tend to exhibit lower levels of aggression and antisocial behavior. It’s a wonderful opportunity to Unplug from the digital world. Today's technology-ridden world makes it easy for families to be present but not engaged.

Reminiscing about special family moments is an essential part of keeping those memories alive. Showcasing old photo albums is a great way to share fun and nostalgic memories, which can help bring your family closer together. Whether it was a trip to the mountains or visiting a nearby museum, discussing and reliving these memorable moments can evoke fond memories and a willingness to create new ones.

Let's celebrate the festival in the true sense by spreading joy and light up the world of others. Have a happy, safe and blessed Festival Season

LIGHT IN THE DARK

Diwali, the festival of lights, is the most celebrated festival in India. The word Diwali has its origin in the Sanskrit word "Deepavali," which means rows of lights. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura and declared a day of celebration for his people. This tradition was followed by the people of India until now. Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "Triumph of good over evil, intelligence over ignorance, and light over darkness.”

People around India decorate streets and buildings with festive lighting. Beaming fireworks go forth, creating a loud noise and light. People in India consider Diwali to be the new year's beginning. They celebrate by sharing sweets and tones of love. Even in the past, soldiers from India and Pakistan shared sweets on the disputed border to express the gesture of goodwill that Diwali brings.

But do we celebrate Diwali knowing what the true intention or belief is? We lavishly spend money to buy crackers, sweets, and clothes. We also spend a tidy sum on arranging a feast or get-together with our relatives and neighbors.

On the other hand, some poor people don't have enough money even to run their daily routine. Instead, we can share our love with those people who are really in need of proper food and clothing. This little act of kindness will bring forth satisfaction in our hearts.

The truth behind celebrating Diwali is to eradicate evil from society, as Lord Krishna did in the great Hindu epic Mahabharata. He fought against Narakasura and freed people from distress. We believe that God dwells in our hearts, then why can't we speak out against the demons that prevent people from living a peaceful life? Society is flooded with many evils like domestic violence, female infanticide, prostitution, corruption, communalism, illiteracy, etc. These awful things must be wiped away from society, which is a real celebration for the nation.

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 020

LIGHT IN THE DARK

The first thing that comes to our mind when we hear the word "Deepavali" is crackers. Have we ever thought about how crackers are manufactured and by whom they are made? It's once again a dark story.

Sivakasi, a small town in Tamil Nadu, is known as India's firecracker capital. It is a place that has given hope to approximately 6.5 lakh families by providing employment. Sivakasi is widely known for its crackers, and they also manufacture green crackers that are environment friendly. Products from Sivakasi are disrupted all over the world. However, it has also resulted in the death of millions of people. Owing to the carelessness of the officers and workers, there were many conflagrations that led to devastation.

We aren't aware of the unilluminated side of Deepavali. Let us all remember the suffering and sacrifice of the people who are behind the screen. Every festival that has been celebrated has had a motive. We shall now celebrate Diwali by knowing its true purpose and motive.

HAPPY DIWALI

Women ... Emblem of Powerdom

The Power of SHE

- The Second Sex (Simon de Beauvoir)

The above thought picturesque my mind with extremely terrible and pathetic situations women are facing mostly in Indian patriarchal society. No matter how much educated and qualified, no matter how much money she is earning, no matter how much sacrifices she is doing in the name of family and responsibilities but regardless of all her dreams, passion, talents and skills she is being suppressed silently.

People generally tend to call a woman an epitome of Love, Sacrifice and Power. But the actual scenario is far more different from the originality, women themselves set their mind and heart known to be as an emblem of sacrifice. There is nothing uncommon in it but the one thing where we need to pay attention is that , why do women even behave and need to be like that?

Actually, in this patriarchal society women are being moulded to think of themselves as a weapon of sacrifice. Each and every time anyone in their family calls for sacrificing something it's always a woman's turn to initiate and be a scape goat in the name of duty , and responsibilities without giving a second thought to what her actual desire is. And, it continues since ages which made women habitual of becoming or known to be an ideal or perfect woman on the scale of all pre-decided prejudices, dominated by male fraternity.

This is the fact that in the current scenario women are facing pathetically absurd, tragic and scary situations to which even a single thought can cause goose bumps. No doubt, this is absolutely a subject of more concern and awareness but one cannot deny from the brighter side of the current society where many women are growing, chasing dreams, becoming ambitious and following the path which leads towards success, glory, fame and popularity and enjoying exclusively their own existing identity.

The purpose behind writing this article is why do we always focus upon the discussion over the predicaments of women in society? Instead, why can't we put the focus upon the discussion over the brighter and positive sides of all the achievements earned by women in the society even after the loads of many unfavourable situations?

Only we women can overcome the deep rooted suppression n dominance by looking at the another side of the coin raising and rising in the same society, where many women are daring to follow their dreams and to root out the deep down old myths and traditions about female inferiority.

Draupadi Murmu is one of the epic examples of social gender equity, equality and equitable progress. A woman from a very remote tribal community with insufficient resources inspires us to overcome the challenges, to dream beyond the sky, to work hard and encourages one to get committed to oneself. She is the real epitome of empowered powerdom and strengthening womanhood. Her journey from a tribal woman passing through a lot of obstacles and tragedies created by fate and the patriarchal society destined her towards an influential and resounding

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 027

win. She is the greatest iconic personality of leadership in adversity. A stubbornly individual independent survivor she is. From her, we can learn to exhibit strong desires, commitments and willingness to change and improve our lifestyle no matter how many challenges we women are facing on a daily basis. Her irresistible success is the outcome of her strong will and a zeal of never ever giving up on life.

The next shining and twinkling Sun of the womanhood earth is Mary Kom, an Indian Olympic boxer, mother of three sons and one daughter. She is the perfect iconic image of the deep rootedness of an Indian woman who never fears storms and demons coming onto her while chasing her passion in order to discover her own worth. When everyone was busy thinking of a female as a feeble and soft skinny figure she has proved her worth as a boxer which was till then just meant for strong and dominated man. In spite of Being a mother of four kids she decided to prove her own existence in the world. Her determination and her desire of never to settle for less than she deserves made her an emblem of a world famous feminine strength.

So, in a nutshell, when we women think of ourselves as a slave, feeble feminine figure then we just end our life with a full stop sign. But, as soon as we think of standing by our own side and committed to our own true self, we women can break all the taboos and fight for our rights as a human being and not just as a 'second sex'. So just by looking at the more positive sides of the modern society atleast we can gather the courage to raise our voice in order to prove our own worthiness. As, this modern society is no longer the same old rooted male dominated one. Instead, you just need to change your own perspective towards it. This is the new world, the new powerdom of women hood . Now it's not only the 'beauty' but the ' brain' and the ' brave' is the new normal.

Protection of Girl Child in India

Education is a weapon that helps women to attain higher status in today's society.

Today in the society, oppression and oppression against women has decreased somewhat, but it is still happening here and there.

Introduction

A woman can be said to be the architect of a society. Women can be mentioned as a grammar of patience and love in this world. There is no one here equal to a mother in providing love and warmth. A woman contributes to the society in every aspect of her life. As this society has emerged and developed as a female protagonist, it is necessary to protect the girl child here. But this article looks at their challenges and how they can be protected in this environment where the society is denied the protection of girl children.

Girls are a blessing

People born in a town without women are depicted as lacking the nature of compassion and love. In other words, a house with female children is depicted in literature as full of happiness and auspiciousness.

Ancient Poetess Avvaiyar says, "Mathavam should be released for Matarai to be born." It is said that those who have sisters and daughters in life are blessed.

Security disorders of women in society

In general, women's safety is a major threat in our society. There was a legacy in the society of not wanting girls because of the high cost of living and safety

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 029

requirements for women. It was an expression of irrationality. There are also reports of a female child born in India being killed by abortion. Girls can't get the education they want, live with whom they want, can't move around safely and freely, can't choose their favorite career field, Many oppressive systems are built by our society against women like early marriage, child abuse, sexual abuse. It is a big challenge for girls to live independently or realize their dreams. But today this situation has changed considerably.

Status of women in today's environment

In today's environment, women are progressing more than men in education, profession and all fields. Education has become a weapon for girls to live independently without any impositions. Today women also earn as much as men in families. Women have started to achieve in all fields. This is seen as a good change. Women are speaking out against violence like never before. The freedom of women expected by Bharathiar has been achieved to some extent today. But it is sad that there are more and more morally deviant women today who use these and go in the wrong direction.

A successful society

A successful society is one where women live in peace, security and happiness. A society will be successful where responsible citizens free of injustice, creative thinking youth and non-violent religion protect the existence of nature without injustice. A nation formed by such minded people will be the best nation in the world.

Protection of Girl Child Act

According to the Constitution of India, women should be protected in society today. Devadasi System (Abolition) Act, Dowry Prohibition Act Prohibition Of Child Marriage Act, Production Of Children From Sexual Offenses, Protection Of Women From Domestic Violence, The Sexual Harassment Of Women At Work Place. Legislation has been established in India to protect women.

Conclusion

According to the laws of nature, the reason why God created men to be stronger than women is because men have to protect women. It is our duty to protect our brotherly relations. In today's environment, it is very painful for girl children to face a dangerous situation. Legally, those who deserve justice are not getting justice. This kind of suffering is not suitable for our society, so our society has no other option but to fight against it.

Women Emblem of Power

Once upon a time women were considered as baby producing machines and they always sit inside the house, behind windows and doors doing household chores, taking care of children and doing small work in the family. All these things happened a long time back. Now that scene is no more prevalent. This has undergone a tremendous change and transformed drastically. Women have occupied all the prestigious positions in the present scenario. They are no more weak or fragile or tender. She is really strong, brave and courageous. She attacks with forward face with confidence. No one can deter her confidence and determination. She is very determined to achieve success. We have numerous examples to prove that. In the present-day scenario women have occupied all walks of life, to tell a few Schools, aviation, Army, Navy, Air Force, police, collector, politician, doctors, engineers, lawyers, scientist, space research etc. and the list goes endless. They are very sincere, hardworking, regular, punctual and beyond that they are trustworthy, honest and talented. They work for the upliftment of the firm where they work.

They keep all the distress in their mind and work sincerely. As a single hand also, women have the capacity to run the family or firm. She becomes a single man army in that place. No one has the power to measure the strength of a women she has that much power. She is pure and gen uine. Her greatness is spread all over. At any cost we should not underestimate women in any actions or deeds. She has the knack to overcome any struggles. Her walk, talk and actions may seem to be different. They are unique and special. She has her own meaning for everything. No one can understand her fully. Let us give her some more freedom to express the emotions, thoughts, feelings. Still, many of them are unable to express the thoughts and feelings and emo tions. They are suppressed in many ways. If we give freedom for women surely, they will not mis lead you, instead they will be a guiding star for many members.

They will be a light to others who struggle in darkness. God cannot be present everywhere so he has created mothers, similarly if women are with us, they guide and nurture us. We have to adjust to her instructions and all of us can live in peace and harmony. That is the need of the hour. Let us take a wow to treat her with dignity, equally with love and respect. Let’s honour her. More than that she doesn’t expect anything from us. Let us love her then she will be very happy. They won't do anything wrong. Trust me. They are beautiful and this beauty is innate beauty.

A Woman's Honour

This verse was pronounced by Lord Sri Krishna in the Indian mythological epic; Mahabharata, when Arjuna had refused to fight in Kurukshetra. Abiding by the promise mentioned in the shlok, Kanha did exactly that when Draupadi needed him in the paramount grievous circumstances of her life.

Today I’m going to pen down my thoughts and feelings about the very same incident. The most talked about, debatable and the infamous episode of the utterly horrifying Draupadi Vastraharan from Mahabharata.

Draupadi; Daughter of Drupada, also referred to as Krishnaa, Panchali, and Yajnaseni, is the main female protagonist of the Hindu epic Mahabharata, and the common spouse of the five Pandavas. She is predominantly known for her beauty, courage, and a rare polyandrous marriage. In Mahabharata, Draupadi and her brother, Dhrishtadyumna, were born from a yajna (fire sacrifice) organised by King Drupada of Panchala. Arjuna won her hand in a swayamvar marriage, but she had to marry the five brothers because of her mother-in-law's misunderstanding.

The most significant and untoward incident in Draupadi's life is the game of dice at Hastinapura where Yudhishthira loses his possessions and his wife. Draupadi is humiliated by the Kaurava brothers and Karna. An attempt is made by Dushasana to disrobe her, but she is saved by the divine intervention of Lord Krishna.

We can't imagine the grief, humiliation, rage and shame Draupadi must have gone through in that Rajya Sabha, where nobody came to her assistance. Not a single soul cared, understood or sympathised with her relentless tears of sorrow. Ironically, she was standing in ignominy, in the presence of her family. Each and every person present was related to her by way of marriage or they were gurus. Majority were sitting there in amusement, taking pleasure out of Draupadi’s helplessness, and many were quiet, bound by excuses more than one.

Moreover, the most tragic part is that she paid a heavy price for absolutely no fault of her own. However, as said by Kulguru, Kripacharya, “Lust, temptation and gambling are bad habits that destroy a man and his character.” Draupadi was taxed and punished for the reckless and impulsive behaviour of her gambling addicted husband, Yudhishthira.

A Woman's Honour

I would like to discuss one particular person who was present there in the court and in spite of having all the powers did nothing to stop this nightmarish act of insult. I am talking about the great Bhishma Pitamah. The entire Mahabharata was drenched in the saga of this great personality. He was the greatest warrior in the Hindu epic Mahabharata, a man of valour, truthfulness, forgiveness, empathy and wisdom. Till date, it is flabbergasting and many times a finger has been raised in history, as to why Bhishma Pitamah maintained silence and let the injustice happen in front of his own eyes?

We all know that he had vouched duty towards the throne and the Kauravas. Therefore he could not go against them. Nonetheless, I am certain, in that glimmer of the moment when Draupadi was being ridiculed and degraded to its highest capacity, even Bhishma Pitamah must have felt shattered and equally guilty as the others who wanted to help but couldn’t. He must be cursing the vows he had once taken to protect and support the Kauravas.

Furthermore, what I strongly disapprove of is that despite the evil act of her sons, Gandhari still didn’t want Draupadi to curse her children, on the contrary she asked Draupadi to forgive them. It is very depressing that Gandhari being a woman could not empathise with another woman’s catastrophe. Alongside her eyes, was her conscious blindfolded too?

Creating a hypothetical situation, if I was present in that court of Maharaja Dhritarashtra, I for sure wouldn’t have kept quiet, considering my belief that raising a voice against unrighteousness is the first religion and duty of man. It goes without saying, that definitely I would have voiced out my objection and tried to reason out both with the Kauravas and the Pandavas, and would have tried my best to avoid this terrible incident.

Sadly, for most part of the living existence of mankind, women have been looked down upon and treated like the weaker sex of the society. For centuries now, she has been harassed and tortured not only mentally and physically, but also emotionally. Right from ancient epoch, women have been suffering for the horrendous acts of men. Paradoxically, you need to be really strong to bear the brunt that is enforced upon you by the opposite sex. Then why do men wrongly think that women are weaker than them?

In contrast to olden days, now woman is more aware and conscious. She is better educated and knows what her rights, duties and responsibilities are. What’s more, she also knows the

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 036

A Woman's Honour

difference between them. Education has brought this enlightenment in her. It’s not that women are completely safe in the current aeon. Even today we hear of ill treatment towards them, but now, we are not living in a suppressed world. People voice out their thoughts and feelings and go to any lengths to get justice.

Every generation will have a set of Kauravas. But we have to make sure that now there are no silent spectators. People must come forward voluntarily and jump in to prevent these mortify ing treatments of women.

The following lines were said by Draupadi: “Behind every strong independent woman lies a broken little girl who had to learn how to get up and to never depend on anyone else.”

As parents, mother and father need to keep a few important aspects in mind. First, equally educate both your sons and daughters, don’t favour the boys over your girls. Secondly, while you are making your girls strong to face the harsh world outside, teach your boys etiquette, manners and respect for women. It is only when good teachings are not given at home from an early age, delinquents are born in the community, who commit crime against women and don’t even feel guilty about it.

Remember, society is made up of us. This is not the job of a single person. The common man, the government, and the law and order of our country; all have to take equal responsibility and need to work hand in glove.

I end my article with this beautiful quote by Sadhguru:

“A society that does not protect, respect and honour its women, can have no claim of being civilized.”

WOMEN - EMBLEM OF POWERDOM

One evening, President Obama and his wife Michelle decide to go out for a casual dinner in a modest restaurant. Once seated, the restaurant owner asks the President’s security team if he could speak to the First Lady in private. The presidential couple agrees and Michelle talks to the owner. When his wife returns, President Obama asks what the conversation was about. She explains that he is a former boyfriend with whom she had a relationship as a teenager. President Obama says, “If you had married him, you would be running this charming little restaurant”, to which Michelle replies, “No, if I had married him, he would be President of the United States!”

Although apocryphal, the story is a pertinent illustration of how women can exert their influence from behind the scenes, and tends to confirm the popular adage “behind every successful man there stands a woman !!

In a recent study it was reported that firms that have no women on their senior management team are 15% less profitable that those in which women make up 30% of executives, while this lack of gender diversity emerges as the principal factor affecting business performance. Women’s participation in decision-making is highly beneficial and their role in designing and applying public policies has a positive impact on people’s lives.

Until very recently, wives lived in the shadow of their husbands. Women’s work is invisible, in other words not statutorily recognized and uncompensated, officially considered as “non-work”, whether at home or in the family business. Domestic work undertaken by women (preparation of meals, taking care of the house and laundry, education and child care, helping older members of the family, financial and administrative household management and so on) is either barely acknowledged, or not at all. This domestic work is unpaid. Yet the more they invest in the home, the more they reduce expenditure.

When women are living safe, fulfilled and productive lives, they can reach their full potential. contributing their skills to the workforce and can raise happier and healthier children. They are also able to help fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity at large.

WOMEN - EMBLEM OF POWERDOM

If women is not empowered then they cannot educate or empower their child properly because most of the time mother grow the children so to grow the world of next-generation it’s manda tory to empower the children from childhood to give right direction if mothers aren’t empowered then they can’t empower the children’s which can affect the economy of the world in longer way.

There is one famous quote of Malala Yousafzai “ We cannot all succeed if half of this are held back”

If we want to see rapid growth in the economics of the world then we will have to start empow ering the women and to make them working women, government and NGO’s are doing their duty still we can also help to increase empowerment by we can start empowering women right from our own homes.

There is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women.

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 045
The Goddess Within: A ‘Plea’ To Empowering Women!

Exhorting The Goddess Within: A ‘Plea’ To Empowering Women!

Women can't travel late at night, they can't travel alone, they can't hang out with friends and the list goes on. Why is our society so judgemental and regressive when it comes to women's freedom and rights? The horrendous crime against women in some States met their right fate, true, but the question is still hanging out in the open, will the Administration from other States take a cue too, and emulate the model? Will justice be provided to most of the pending cases in favour of our women?

We need to treat crimes against Women in a serious vein, in order to truly empower our Women and make them feel secure in a Country where ‘Women are worshipped and emulated as ‘Naari-Shakti’, and revered in the form of Goddesses.

I honestly don't feel that we need any hard-hitting dialogues or strong portrayals to change the mind sets of certain sections of society, irrespective of gender; or certain abstruse mindsets in our society. In certain cases, you need to follow the punishment, that heinousness of the crime seeks for. 'An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.'

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 046

Capital Punishment is the only answer in such cases. There should be no consideration for even 'Juvenile delinquency' in crime against Women. This reminds me of Mardaani-II, a cinematic adaptation of the tortuous crimes being forged against women in our Country, where the central character essayed by one of the finest actors, of our industry, reminds us of her take on rules for women in a television interview from a scene, where she raises questions on the biased rules of the society for Women in India in every sphere of work.

The lawyers, of such victims, less noticed and ignored, being women themselves, in most of the cases, might have also gone through a lot of opposition, while choosing to fight for their cause, i.e., justice for their clients, yet the fact that they choose to continue in their relentless struggle, amidst all the pressure and opposition, should be a matter of Pride and a subject of contention for the Judiciary and the Nation itself.

How many a woman, like Nirbhaya, her mother, and their lawyer, a Woman herself, choose to fight back every time a criminal chooses to cross their limits and the society decides to deride them of their pride, is a matter of contention and the need of the hour!

Kudos to such acts of Women Power!

Moving back to the judiciary, it takes a lot of time, but I guess, the timing couldn't have been more right than the hour, when most of the decisions being taken by the judiciary fell in sync with the emotional chords of the country. Even COVID-19 couldn't prevent the resurgent crowd of the nation from hoarding at the premises near the '(in-) famous' Tihar Jail of Delhi and shout out loud for the justice (finally) granted to the valiant, brave, deceased daughter of India.

The mother of the deceased, true to the spirit of her name (Asha Devi) stood ebullient with pride and mixed emotions of pain and grief having played a pivotal role in leading the long-fought case reach to its zenith. She expressed her satisfaction at having been provided with justice finally to her departed daughter and wished the same for the other similar pending cases lying to see the light of the day in India.

This Navratri, let’s celebrate the true, never-say-die spirit of our daughters and take a pledge to educate, empower and evoke the Goddess within; to fight away the demons, both within and without, that torment the society and the world as a whole!

Women Empowerment

Mental health is indirectly related to empowerment as it depends on the physical and environmental condition whereas we associate the concept of women empowerment with gender equality whereas these two are different concepts. Women empowerment refers to the rights given to women. Those whom they know, only then they can get full empowerment, as if we look at our ancient society, then our society was a civilized society in which women had many rights, whether it was swaymwar, warfarewarfare education, or whether it was the field of education. but as our society develops, our rights became narrow and we were deprived of the rights which were enjoyed by women in our ancient society, we became affected by problems like child marriage, dowry system, domestic violence, purdah system etc. And went on being deprived of the rights received in the field of property. Lets know what is the meaning of the concept of women empowerment, the meaning of women empowerment is to give that respect to women so that they can live a life of respect in the society and happy in themselves. Women empowerment is needed for the overall development of any society as it has been said that an educated woman educates a whole family whereas an uneducated woman can neither develop herself nor develop her family.

Therefore, in today's time, special emphasis is being given on women's education, due to which a developing society can come in the category of a developed society. If we talk about the society before independence, Durga Bhabhi is a strong example of this, who played an important role in the independence of India. In today's time we can take the example of women like Mary Kom Kiran Bedi Indira Gandhi Sushma Swaraj Pratibha Patil Mithali Raj Kalpana Chawla Sunita Williams etc. If we can talk about women empowerment We cannot only depends on the government, but our development is not possible until we are awakened for our own development. Some government policies for women empowerment are Mahila Shakti Kendra, Working Women Hostel etc. are the biggest step taken for women empowerment. women empowerment is also dependent on the economic

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 048

Women Empowerment

condition of the society, we can understand this notion in such a way that in a house only one person or man will earn money at the same place if both the people in other family are earning ie If both men and women earn, then the development of that family will be more than what a single person earns in a family.

If we look in the Indian context, as a result of the work done by the government, we have been successful in some areas, but in some areas even today we cannot talk about women's empowerment, as if seen, 30% of the daughters of our society have access to education. Due to lack of education, they do not have complete knowledge related to menstruation and the materials used, even today they feel hesitant to talk openly about their periods due to this many girls are not able to complete their education. Some women also feel hesitant to tell about the unfair treatment that is happening at the workplace, which affects their mental health a lot. Some women also tolerate domestic violence happening at home. So that they are becoming mentally frustrated. Girls have less rights than boys, due to which girls feel weak. In today's time, we have to talk about the following rights which helpful in providing mental peace to women.

Right to maintenance for all Right to equal pay Right to dignity and decency Right against domestic violence | Right at workplace | Right against dowry | Right to free legal aid Right to personal defence. So wo men empowerment can make you mentally healthy but it all depends on your way of thinking how you take it as achievement or opportunity or burden or satisfied ego.

“Women Powerdome pouvoir des femmes”

Power of Women versus Power over Women

WOMEN THE SYNONYM OF POWER,STRENGTH AND COURAGE.

Woman is Shakti and to respect her means respecting the Goddess There is a saying: 'Yatra naryastu pujyante ramante tatra devta', which means that where women are respected, Goddess Lakshmi blesses that home.

I remember how as a child, my favorite festival was Navratri. It was primarily because as a girl child, you felt very special by being treated as a goddess, treated with feasts, and loaded with gifts on the 8th and 9th day of the festival. The mythology states that there is a fierce goddess inside each girl that has the power to make or break you. However, people tend to forget that this is a reminder for the world to protect, nurture, and educate every girl. This will lead to a better place where women will be more independent, much stronger, and be able to build their own identity.History and mythology continue to influence our modern lives and it is an interesting way to reflect womanism and the celebration of the navratri is the synonym of that only.

Navaratri celebrations were popular long before the International Women's Day and the International Day of the Girl Child were conceived. India's psyche resonates with the stories of the Saptashati. Rather than preserving the stories and their messages, it was more unfortunate that they were overlooked. These messages must be rekindled and re established to fight some of the stereotypes against women ingrained in the popular imagination. The topic of women's empowerment and female leadership is more prominent than ever today. The modern woman also depicts the nine forms of all deities with managing and holding both the field very wisely and efficiently and proving herself as a nav durga with all her weapons of both the fields;Home and Workplace.

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 050

“Women Powerdom- e pouvoir des femmes”

The main motive of celebrating these nine days is just to purify your soul and learn the three basic Gunas in our life.

The festival of Navratri commemorates the three Gunas- Tamas, Rajas, and Sattva, which are represented by Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati.

"Trigunatmika"- the Devi represents the owner and master of all three Gunas. Having a divine consciousness can refine our inherent qualities called Gunas. A physical entity cannot exist without these three dimensions. Gunas are responsible for our behavior. Every being in this creation is affected by Gunas. Tamas is ignorance or inertia.

The Tamas are not in balance when we experience delusion, misunderstandings, and dullness. Rajas are activity, greed, or desire. When we have the Rajas trait prevailing in our personality, we are restless, crave money, and have too many thoughts in our heads. "Sattva" means transcendence. Having a sense of lightness, happiness, pleasure, being alert, and being awake are symptoms of Sattva in our environment or our bodies.

In a nutshell I can say that balancing these three gunas:Rajas,Tamas and Sattva in one's life only leads them to a happy and prosperous life. And If we learn the balance between these three our motive of celebrating these nine days will be fulfilled in a real way.

And if we raise a daughter with these three gunas she can lead her life prosperously ,confidently and beautifully.A famous shlok of Sanskrit clearly depicts the upbringing of a girl child which will become a strong woman who can live her life on her own.

vThe only daughter is like ten sons. The result of the upbringing of ten sons is achieved only by the nurturing of the girl. And at last I can sum up by these lines that-”Every woman has a “Durga” within ,it’s better not to poke.

“Every woman who awakens Courage within herself is DURGA…

Every woman who awakens Transformation within herself is KALI…

Every woman who awakens Devotion within herself is PARVATI...

Every woman who awakens Nurturing within herself is ANNAPURNA…

Every woman who awakens Shiva within herself is SHAKTI...

Celebrating the Goddess within…..

To ensure a sense of unity and promote global citizenship; harmonious and peaceful cosmos, crossing the waters and bridging the gaps through their distinct, groovy and artistic ink, forty one iridescent star poets as representative of twenty seven countries took initiative and contributed to the poetry collection 'Across the Seas' which is recently released. The collection is published with White Falcon Publishing House. Dr Shalini Yadav, a creative soul, philanthropic and Professor of English compiled and edited the volume of verses full of sensibility for fulfillment and complacence of the objective.

'Across the Seas' is an omnibus of lucid, picturesque and sensible poetic pieces and stimulates the hearts. The volume includes various themes including war, peace, harmony, brotherhood, nature, mystery, spirituality, humanity and right of equality beyond all borders.

In his article titled ‘A Hymn For All Mankind: Where The Mind Is Without Fear’, Badrul Hasan says- “The verse continues to exhort people—particularly in conflict zones across the world—to seek fearless truth, progressive thoughts and actions, and to stand up and see the world as one, undivided by borders or “narrow domestic walls.”

Even James Kirkup’s poem ‘No Men are Foreign’ is one of the upright exemplar to teach value of universal brotherhood, non-violence and equality to create a harmonious environment in the world. He tried to make everyone remember that no man is a stranger and no country is a foreign country by the lines-“Remember, no men are strange, no countries foreign/Beneath all uniforms, a single body breathes/ Like ours: the land our brothers walk upon/ Is earth like this, in which we all shall lie.”

In techno-advanced competitive era, our life style, caste, race, culture, gender, economic or literacy status may vary ‘across the seas’ but we all are same as we all have same type of body with in which one’s ‘self’ resides and heart breathes. Besides, poems prove to be a remedy for mental and psychological anxieties of as ‘antidotes against illness’.

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 053

The collection is a kind of Pandora with lexis full of love, audacity, respect and trust for unanimous synchronization and enlivening sensitivity in the aura. The poems are highly distinct, versatile, rich in imagery and sensitive to human heart with individualistic approach and would surely create a filmic effect on the mind of readers to enjoy the lyrical bounty. A must read book for poetry lovers.

What is Education?

It’s not a degree, it is letting yourself free. it is not about the marks you get, it is with the wings how far you set. it is preparing the child for the path and not path for the child. it is shaping the minds, not a career confined. It is not about winning or losing, it's a continuous experience life is teaching. Information is present everywhere but knowledge is found only in our Alma -mater and this knowledge requires proper implementation wrong use may lead to suffocation and complication. Education is a key to all the problems in its heart we can find life's multiple solutions. Education is not only for the mind but also heart because when we go to the temple we don't go with the pride of our qualification we go with a pure heart and ardent devotion.

The early age -the rush to school, the teenage years- the way to college, The twenties period- the time to prove That's the experience of life! the advice of parents, the love of parents, the values imbibed from parents That's the experience of life! The joys of a child, The responsibilities of an adult, the insecurities of the old, That's the experience of life!

Best teacher of my life

You have made me stronger than I was before, thank you for the experience you gave me yes, you are the best teacher of my life! you left me alone when I needed you the most, I learnt to be independent and confident Thank you my so called friend. yes, you are the best teacher of my life! just because of you, I learnt to stitch my broken heart thank you the trusted one .yes, you are the best teacher of my life! thank you for making me better than the best in every way and every day! yes, I value you, even though you are invaluable. Yes, my darling life, you are the best teacher I have ever met!

Failure and success

Failure is a penalty for continually getting things wrong. success on the other hand is an award for getting things continually right. Therefore I look at my self and wonder, whether I am a successful person or a failure. May be I am a bit of both whichever way the hammer falls only that will decide what I am.

Letters of the soul

I have a habit of writing letters, in my mind and not on the paper. some good things and some bitter just because I feel better. I write about the known, I write about the unknown as I don't like to text on my cell phone. I write to my family, I write to a friend, I am sure it's never going to end. I write to say 'thank you', I write to say 'sorry', I write to show anger, I write to say 'don't worry’. I write to God whenever I want to ask, ‘why'? Alas! it's of no use so I bid frustrations goodbye. talking frankly is not my cup of tea that trait God has never given me so I have found a final solution and by writing I become free of all tension. Happiness cannot be bought or sold but the fact is happiness can be created multifold. with the pen of my feelings on the paper of my mind, I write and write as I am the only one of my kind.

The Joy of meeting you!

Everything came to a stand-still,As if the whole world had taken a sleeping pill. we all were in a state of shock It felt as if life had given a knock. He said that he had to leave in a week, we felt utterly helpless, sad and weak. what he said was absolutely true, No one knew what we were going through! He said he was going for work and this statement gave us a jerk. he said he was going very far, this left on our mind a deep scar. After five years he came from London. we felt as if the Olympics was won. Immense happiness put me in short of words, I felt happy and liberated like a free birds! words fall short to describe him further ,He is none other than my 'dearest father'.

The Art of living

The more you give, the more you get .the more you laugh the less you fret. the more you live religiously, the more you get abundantly. The more everything you share, the more you will have in spare. the more you love, the more you will find, that life is good' and friends are kind, for only what we give away, Enriches us from day to day.

What is addiction?

What is the definition of addiction?

It is a series of bad habits in action. This requires immediate eradication ,or it will destroy our future generations. It is just a moment of pleasure and taste and the entire life becomes a total waste. for just a temporary satisfaction and joy, there comes a permanent miserable cry. Remember of your mind, you are the boss .Don't take your precious life with her with toss. take complete control over temptations and be free from regrets, repentance and frustrations spread awareness amongst younger generation, and teach them the art of meditation take care of your life as it is a gift of the Almighty and make your character strong and mighty.

Timeless thoughts

Don't write the titles first they limit your thoughts, similarly do not make plans first, they limit your exposure. I do not believe that love is in the air but it's presence is felt everywhere it resides in the heart and felt once we are apart. it is the hard work of "we" and not "me" That brings success and glory of any country. Nothing is permanent, Everything perishesh. we must chase the ones that our heart cherishes. stop chasing 'fantasies' start taming 'realities' .I am afraid of losing my identity, I am afraid of losing my patience, I am afraid of losing my confidence, I am afraid of losing my virtues, I am afraid of losing myself because, I am afraid of losing my mother. The same cruel world! once again I have been forced to take a burning candle in my hand.... just to comfort the soul of the brave men .In every nook and every corner, I hear it everywhere the cries and wails of the people targeted by cruel world! these inhuman acts, these hypocrite faces and talks, the battles where people bleed profusely have become regular occurrences. if this repeats, probably the love and care will no longer survive. for honesty and integrity, there would be no space As everyone will be too busy in winning their blind race! why can't these people recognize the pain of our mother-land, it is better to realize soon before it is too late!

Space and it's Wonders

Nothing is as huge as our space! it is not as simple as tying a shoe lace . I like watching the shooting stars while having some chocolate bars.learning about planets is a very fun they have a father named 'The burning sun' Think of the meteors and the massive rocks.Just wonder how it would be when they knock. the colourful lights at huge the northern poles the spiral galaxies and huge black holes. space is like a great, huge maze thinking stars are there to gaze!

We can work together amicably to avoid the third world war. or the end of human race will be our destiny and fate.

My Educational Philosophy: (Worth Reading With Patience).

We all know that each child is unique and god gifted. Each child learns a little differently from the next and has different interests. As parents, we have the responsibility to look for the hidden Potential of our children and encourage and equip them to achieve it. One of the greatest attributes a child can possess is the belief that they have the capacity. But a child will only believe what his /her parent believes about him/her. As John Maxwell said, "A child has no clear picture of himself. He sees himself only in the mirror of his parent's evaluation of himself." Unstopping a child's potential starts with the parent. No matter what happens in any given day, if we think our child has the potential, we are more likely to work towards developing that hidden potential.Whatever is your child's hidden talent, by having faith and patience it will surface. As parents pray not only for your children but for yourself. With faith and patience, you will accurately discern and nurture the precious potential God has placed in your care. Teach them love, trust and believe me, it can make a difference, if we nurture our children's dream. When I was a child I had many teachers who believed in me. I was inspired to teach. Today I teach with love and devotion.Inspire your child to his/ her imagination to give shape to the new ideas and to have self-belief. Imaginations help people to think outside of the box as there are no limits to thinking big and achieving it. Inspire your child to nurture dreams by saying "You Can Do". Ask him/ her following questions: - 1. Would you like to climb mountain or rocket to stars? (It will encourage our child to reach the height) 2. Would you like to care for lost dogs or cats? (This will instill the value of compassion and love) 3. Would you like to draw, dance sing, play the musical instrument, write wonderful stories or like to be an actor, doctor, teacher or nurse? (This will help them to dream what he /she wants to be and will soon discover their hidden talent). 4. Would you like to make people laugh? (It will in still the right values in your child and he/she would make his/her and others life happy). 5. Would you like to have special friends? (It will help the child love, be friendly, and honest). 6. Would you like to be strong, jump high, run fast? (This will help the child to set his/her goal of being strong and powerful). Then tell your child it may not be easy or happen as quickly. Say to him that you believe in him/her to find a way if she/he truly want something saying “You Can Do IT”.

Teachers Should Develop The Mother’s Heart In Themselves:

First of all, we, as teachers, need to develop a mother's – heart. What does this mean? One need not be a physical mother in order to develop mothers- heart. Neither is this ability confined to women alone; men too can, and have manifested it. We need to place ourselves at that point of perception, where we are able to accept the child as he or she is every child has infinite possibilities. Living with the kids, however, seems to force our attention on their mistakes, on their failed attempts at learning, rather than concentrate on their possibilities. A person whose mothers-heart has opened is able to see in the child the actualization of what it can become years later. It is not an imagination; it is a vision. Imagine the beauty of a relationship between the teacher and the student, where the student receives unconditional love and acceptance from the teacher! Does this mean the teacher will never shout or get angry? Far from it but, chastisement must always be preceded by a rock-solid foundation of strong emotional bondings. Subjectively, the opening of the mother's heart brings some palpable changes in ourselves. One such change is the ability to instinctively stand in the shoes of the child before us, to be able to almost see through his eyes, as it were. Every thought and feeling arising in the child will strike a similar chord within us. Another observable change, subjectively, is the ability to see the child as an integral whole, our vision not confined to any one aspect of the child's personality. We develop our ability to view any single aspect of the child's personality against the background of the child's entire personality. This is the stage where we become capable of truly seeing good in any child. Yet another subjective indication of the opening of the mother's –heart is that all our thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even our entire personality get suffused with the bright quality of light. This may sound a bit mystical to many, but there is really no other analogy in our language to express this change. A unique alertness comes over us. When this happens, it is impossible to see anything related to the child as trivial. These changes bring about an uncommon fearlessness in our actions. All the people around us may object to our seemingly unconventional methods of teaching and dealings with the child, but we get the feeling of being backed by a very superior certainty in the correctness of our own methods. There is a world of difference between these qualities that we are speaking of an ordinary stubbornness.

HOW TO DEVELOP THE MOTHER’S- HEART IN OURSELVES:

The mother's heart that lies dormant in each one of us can be awakened by various processes. Most of those time-tested processes are part of the spiritual love. What is relevant for us in our present context as teachers is to the possibility of awakening this dormant faculty through the means of our teaching vocation itself.

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 065

Ours shall be the attitude of the mother hen that incubate its eggs. The only contribution of the hen is the protective heat it gives to the eggs. Under that protective warmth, the egg matures on its own. Similarly, our kids have everything necessary for their intellectual, emotional and moral maturing built into them by Nature. As teachers, all that we need to provide is the warmth of our emotional and intellectual support. Another essential habit we need to develop for opening our mother’s – heart is that of seeing every child as a bundle of infinite possibilities. The moment we try to beat the child into a strait-jacket of behavior and activity, we atrophy. To express all this in the simplest terms we can develop the mother’s heart in ourselves by falling in love with our job of teaching. We can develop our mother’s heart by consciously growing the awareness in ourselves that the children whom we are teaching have all the requisite capabilities to be better persons than we are. It has taken us only one small line to express this sentiment. But it takes a lot of effort to actualize it. It is a job of a lifetime. A teacher should have a dream how do we sustain over selves during such a prolonged effort? This brings us to the second quality that we spoke of earlier. A teacher must himself have a dream. His own life must be fired that dream. His own life must be the actualization of that dream. The details of the dream may vary, but its crux must be constant self – improvement. Such a teacher aims to understand himself by teaching his students. It is the intensity of our dream that lights the fire in our students. For as Swami Vivekananda famously said, "Be and make”. Let us all, therefore, prepare ourselves accordingly

MOVIE REVIEW

''CRUEL CASTEISM"

Pariyerum Perumal is a very good film about the caste system. The movie starts at a slow pace and then picks up the pace with a great climax scene. All the actors have done a great job.

The film's protagonist Pariyerum Perumal belongs to lower caste. Parian aspires to be a lawyer and the plot begins when he enrolls in law college. There, he initially faces embarrassment due to his caste and culture, but this makes him befriend Jyoti who begins to help him in education. But Joe's upper caste family is threatened by the relationship and begins to trouble Pariyan. He is a law student from a lower caste and he is a good friend to an upper caste girl. However, their relationship annoys Jyoti's family members who harass Pariyan.

Pariyerum Perumal is full of idealism and hope as much as he describes caste violence. A scene in the principal's office, where the principal encourages a disappointed Pariyan, provides a whistle-worthy moment. Similarly, a scene between Pariyan and his mother in the hospital is emotional.

One of the best movie i ever seen.

The village narrative surrounding the law college reflects the prevailing caste system and its poor methods, in the best of ways. The direction that has shaped it deserves a lot of praise, and Mari Selvaraj deserves it as he has done a great job in his debut film.

"Joy can only spring up among people who feel equal.”

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 068

Every character, and scene is designed to impress about the social structure and its discrimina tion among people. The attempts to unravel the atrocities and its worst effects are well visible in the scenes and it really makes this film a neat one.

A special mention should be given to the excellent performances of Kathir.

This film reached a wider audience. Then it unites people in a humanity and responsibility. It added power to help foster positive change.

This film eradicated the caste culture system to the audience.

''UNITY"

It starts with the letter "U". If you not, then who?

"Only education and humanity can eradicate the caste system."

Although India is a country of unity in diversity, caste violence continues to follow. This is very difficult to change, but education can definitely change it. May the future be free of caste vio lence.

Talent can speaks so caste is underfoot. If you develop your skills you can reach any limit.Don't worry about caste. Surely this will not change now but ,there is a chance that many people's minds will change, so stay tuned!

Caste system can definitely be eradicated by thoughts and writings so we should develop our thoughts. let's encourage and change them through education. Unity in Diversity teaches all human beings and creatures to be united.

Try to ignore differences and find ways to bond with one another.

Rural Women Entrepreneurship In India

ABSTRACT

Women entrepreneurship has been recognized as an important source of economic growth. Women entrepreneurs create new jobs for themselves and others and also provide society with different solutions to management, organization and business problems. However, they still represent a minority of all entrepreneurs. Women entrepreneurs often face gender-based barriers to starting and growing their businesses, like discriminatory property, matrimonial and inheritance laws and/or cultural practices; lack of access to formal finance mechanisms; limited mobility and access to information and networks, etc. Women’s entrepreneurship can make a particularly strong contribution to the economic well-being of the family and communities, poverty reduction and women’s empowerment, thus contributing to the Millennium development goals. Thus, governments across the world as well as various developmental organizations are actively undertaking promotion of women entrepreneurs through various schemes, incentives and promotional measures.

Problems of Rural Women Entrepreneurs:

Women play a vital role in the growth and development of the economy of the nation. They attain the success in the entrepreneurial world by facing a lot many problems. women live in these states, according to an India Spend analysis of data released by the Economic Census 2012. With 73.4% of its women literate, Tamil Nadu – third among larger states after Kerala and Maharashtra – has India’s largest number of establishments run by women, one million, accord ing to the Economic Census 2012. Women Entrepreneurs position in Global: India ranked 29th of 31 countries in the 2015 Global Women Entrepreneurs Leader report by ACG Inc, a consultancy, above only Pakistan and Bangladesh. The report observed that in India and other low-ranked countries, unequal inheritance rights for women and work restrictions limited their access to startup capital and collateral. The number of women working in rural India is declining at a greater pace than that among women in the urban workforce, according to an India Spend analysis of government data. Sustained high economic growth since the early 1990s has led to improved education and health indicators among India s women. Harriet Beecher Stowe rightly said, “Women are the real architects of society”.

Findings

1. Women accounted for no more than 25% of the labour force in 2011-12, declining from 33% in 2005, according to national sample survey report on employment, a rate worse than neighboring Bangladesh 29%, Nepal 52% and Sri Lanka 34%.

2. The aspirations of rural women, increasingly educated and exposed to paid labour opportunities under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme, have shifted away from unpaid agricultural work on family farms toward more formal, paid work.

3. Women entrepreneurs in the four southern states and Maharashtra account for over 50% of all women-led small-scale industrial units in India.

4. At a global level, about 126 million women have started or are running their businesses and whereas in India, there are about 8 million women have started or are running their businesses.

5. Apart from that, women have 24% share in corporate senior management positions and in India it’s 30% for the same. Not only that, round about 37% of formal enterprises owned by women around the globe whereas 10% of formal enterprises in India are being operated by women.

Rural Women Entrepreneurship In India

6. As many as 25 million women have left the Indian labour force over the past 10 years, as India Spend reported in April. No more than 27% of Indian women are in the labour force, the secondlowest rate of female labour-force participation in South Asia after Pakistan, where female labour-force participation is rising. India s is falling.

7. MGNREGS, a labour demand-driven programme, is limited to providing only 100 days of paid labour on public works projects per year. The few paid, formal jobs available, besides MGNREGS, tend to go to men and women with degrees, leaving women educated till the secondary school level in limbo--with skills that qualify them for non-agricultural work, but with few such jobs available, according to a 2018 study by the University of Maryland.

8. This lack of formal jobs, coupled with shrinking availability of agricultural work, has led to declining numbers of women in the rural workforce.

9. Labour force participation rate (LFPR) is a measure of the number of persons in the labour force per 1,000 persons. The NSS data recording the change in female LFPR in rural and urban areas over 18 years to 2011 show that the female LFPR has declined in both.

10. A closer look at the NSS data shows that the decline is steeper in rural areas. Whereas female LFPR in urban areas has declined from 165 per 1,000 in 1993 to 155 in 2011, in rural areas the female LFPR has fallen from 330 to 253 over the same period.

11. 57 economies account for nearly 79 percent of the world’s female labour force. India had ranked 52nd in 2017 too. It trails developed nations like the US (4th) and China (29th) by a big margin, and is ahead of only Iran, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Egypt and Bangladesh.

12. Women entrepreneurs in India either lack social acceptance or struggle for funds and government support for their business ventures. It is no secret that there is a dearth of women entrepreneurs in India. Be it the lack of resources, the ecosystem bias, the women s own mindset or lifestyle issues, they have been far outnumbered by men in the world of startups and tech.

13. This sorry state of affairs has come to light once again in the Master card Index of Women Entrepreneurs (MIWE) 2018, where India ranked a lowly 52nd out of 57 countries when it came to women entrepreneurs ability to capitalize on opportunities offered by their local environments.

Rural Women Entrepreneurship In India

Conclusion

The status of women in India has been subject to many great changes over the past few millennia. With a decline in their status from the ancient to medieval times, to the promotion of equal rights by many reformers, their history has been eventful. Women in rural India, despite suffering from the problems like health, malnutrition, repeated childbearing, and lack of education, engage themselves in direct and allied agricultural activities, run small shops, sell by-products or handcraft products and

thus generate additional income for the family. A government of India study shows that more than 40 per cent of rural women directly or indirectly contribute to the uplift of their families and thereby bringing social change. Women entrepreneurs are an important source of economic growth. They create new jobs for themselves and others and also provide society with different solutions to management, organization and business problems. The government had encouraged women entrepreneurs in the state two decades ago by establishing self-help groups. Rural Women are key agents for development. They play a catalytic role towards achievement of transformational economic, environmental and social changes required for sustainable development.

Sustainability and Fashion

Are we moving towards sustainable fashion?

Take H&M; The Swedish retailer has pledged to cut its emissions by 30% by 2030 compared to the 2019 level, earning a B for its 2021 climate disclosure from the third-party nonprofit CDP.

The company's top priority is moving toward reducing its water and plastic use and relying more on recycled materials.

But even the best material can not counteract a production volume of three billion garments per year or investor expectations of beating fast fashion competitors!

Scientists feel that decoupling growth strategy in fast fashion and climate change is impossible, or it could be for emission but not for resource use. Some companies are trying their best, and Gucci has managed to cut its emissions by 15% compared to the 2019 level while still boosting sales. We are consuming and producing far more than what our planet can stand. If we continue on this path very soon, no planet will be left.

What can we do as an individual to support the cause of sustainability in fashion?

Last two years, I have been converting my old sarees into dresses! I have converted almost ten sarees into dresses, and I wear them more than I wear my sarees.

The concept of giving away sarees or dresses, especially the costly ones is not very well organized. It goes to the house help or end of in charity. Some more are just stacked into suitcases or trunks.

Nevertheless, they are much more climate-friendly, rather than buying from fast fashion brands of H&M and Zara.

Sustainability and Fashion

A few years back, we all knew how to mend our clothes. We have forgotten to fix anything and believe in throwing things into the garbage. Going back is not going to take us to the future. What is going to bring forward is a fact-based decision. Almost 80% of climate impact stems from the production process of the garment!

What can we do?

We can prolong the active life of the garment.

On average, it is said that a t-shirt can be worn 60 times, but usually, we discard the t-shirt after 30 wear and may be less!

So if we consciously wear any garment we have purchased multiple times, we can serve our planet better.

Most of us think cotton clothing is sustainable because it is a natural fabric. Unfortunately, the reality is slightly different from what you might have imagined. Granted, there are many pros to cotton; it’s soft, lightweight, breathable, and a naturally grown material, but cotton can severely impact the environment and the lives of those who produce it.

So is cotton good for the environment? Unfortunately not. Cotton requires enormous amounts of chemical fertilizers and pesticides to grow, polluting local ecosystems and the water from which farmers drink. It degrades soil quality, prevents biodiversity, and forces many to labor in harsh conditions without fair pay.

With almost 26 million tonnes of cotton produced every year, it’s time that big brands did more to source from sustainable cotton producers. We must demand more to influence the decisions of big brands.

Sustainable fashion encompasses consideration for people, the planet, and the rest of the living world (animals, plants, etc.).

Fast fashion is trendy, cheap, and rapidly produced in large quantities. Examples of fast fashion brands include Zara, H&M, Boohoo, Pretty Little Thing, Uniqlo, GAP, Primark, and Fashion Nova.

Sustainability and Fashion

Here are some statistics to paint the picture of the fashion industry today:

1) Textile production was responsible for 1.2 billion tons of CO2 equivalent in 2015 alone.

2)The fashion industry is heavily reliant on fossil fuels. The fashion industry is predicted to consume 25% to 30% of the world’s remaining carbon budget by 2050 at current growth rates.

Ninety-three billion cubic meters of water and 98 million tons of non-renewable resources are extracted yearly for textile production.

3)Textiles are the fourth-largest “cause of environmental pressure.”

4)One garbage truck’s worth of textiles is landfilled or incinerated every second.

Less than 1 % of used clothing is recycled into new garments. The Ellen MacArthur Foundation estimates that every year some USD 500 billion in value is lost due to barely worn clothing, not donated, recycled, or ending up in a landfill.

We have the power in our hands to look at our wardrobe and decide to change the way be think about clothes!

Teaching of Indian Culture for Promoting Global Citizenship

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 087

Indian culture is the culture that values everyone in a different way, because it knows everyone is unique. Indians work in foreign countries and they possess Indianism by gaining the knowledge of contemporary India with the help of internet. The socioeconomic needs of Indians change based on their diversities in religion, caste, region, language, etc., By birth itself, Indians need to develop their values of accepting people as who they are. Because, they were born in a country that follows multiculturalism as its prominent aspect. So, they have this quality in their entire life.

Global citizenship is the attitude of people to think that every human being in the world is equal and everyone should contribute for the wellness of other human beings irrespective of their nationality or any other social diversities. The contribution of people to the whole human society is a need to establish fraternity and peace among them. Helping others with no expectations is the way of spreading humanity. Nowadays, many countries are attempting to provide education for students to make them global citizens. The understanding of people in global citizenship is low but it needs to be improved for attaining Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Teaching of Indian culture makes Indian students or international students to follow global citizenship. As Indian culture has variety of regional dances and clothes, the activities in teaching Indian culture may include dancing Indian dances, playing Indian music, wearing Indian clothes, etc., Unlike any other culture of foreign countries, Indian culture maintains a strong bond with Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam which are the major religions in India. Many foreigners visit India for its culture and they are interested in celebrating Indian festivals. Indian

culture is the essence of Indian Literature in English. So, those who know English language can read widely and deeply about the life of Indians and their diverse culture.

Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam in space science and assistive technology for people with disability, Swami Vivekananda in spirituality and philosophy, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan in education and leadership, Sundar Pichai in computer-based technology and so many Indians in different fields have contributed for the development of the whole world. Most of the countries adopted the principles of aforementioned people and their inventions are still useful for the human society even after they were dead. The aforementioned personalities are the Indian role models of promoting global citizenship. Their efforts should be taken into account of every heart for serving the world.

Global Citizenship Education (GCE) should be introduced from secondary schools to the college education. It can form people into a single human circle who have willingness to help each other.

As Global Citizenship Education requires students to learn about all the cultures in the world and makes them to be lifelong travellers, Indian culture is the ancient root of global citizenship. There is a slogan in Tamil language, “Yaathum Oorey Yaavarum Kelir”, which means ‘everywhere is your place and everyone is your relative’. So, teaching of Indian culture always promotes global citizenship. Indian schools need to frame a valid curriculum that addresses the roles and responsibilities of Indians to become global citizens.

History of Georgian dances

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 092

History of Georgian dances

"All the diseases of mankind, the tragic stories that fill the history books, all the political mistakes, all the failures of the leaders are due to inexperience in dancing" wrote Moliere. There are people who believe that "any problem can be solved by dancing". It may sound a little excessive, but a real cool dance brings happiness and peace of mind, at least during the performance. You might wonder why there is such a view of dance. For Georgian people, dance is not only a part of culture, it is their life. Foreign visitors are often surprised when they arrive in Georgia, because it is a completely different country. They are introduced to a completely different culture. Original Georgian dances reflect different aspects of Georgian life. Dances are divided according to their origin and contain different rituals and ceremonies. The role of women in dance is interesting. A woman never openly tries to attract her partner while dancing because she does not want to be noticed by her partner. The partner keeps a distance while dancing and respects her beauty. Our desire is to get acquainted with Georgian folk dances. These amazing and beautiful dances represent the history, traditions and culture of Georgia. Georgian folk dances are not widely known in the world, but they still leave an unforgettable impression on the visitor. Georgian dance ensembles, both professionals and amateurs, leave an unforgettable impression around the world. Refined movements not only delight the audience, but also delight the dancers. Every dance represents its region. Mountain dances, such as Mthiuluri, Khevsuruli, Kazbeguri, are sharply different from other dances. For example, from Adjarian, Davlur dances. Every dance has its own costume according to the regions of Georgia.

It is believed that every nation has its niche. Perhaps this is true. The genius of the Georgian nation lies in dance. It is true that different countries have their own traditional dances, but unlike others, Georgian dance is not repeated in any of them. It has a centuries-old history. Each trick or movement of our traditional dance has its own content. Georgians embody the Georgian spirit in dance.

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 093

History of Georgian dances

"Georgian dance": "Georgian dance" is the oldest of the romantic couple dances that have survived to our time. This dance can be considered the peak of Georgian folk choreography. Georgian dance - Sadarbazo, Satrfialo, Saarshiko, is an ancient, romantic couple dance of men and women. The Georgian choreography was performed for the stage, but it is performed according to very specific rules and the order of the relationship between men and women. It consists of 5 parts where a man invites a woman to dance, followed by a dance together, a solo performance by a woman and the conclusion where they dance together. The dance is characterized by holding the upper part of the body properly. Movements are governed by strict rules: a man has no right to touch a woman, even her clothes.

"Davluri": "Davluri" belongs to the number of Georgian group dances. It is performed slowly, with gentle twisting and turning. The compositional outline of this dance: creating rows, breaking up, dividing into pairs, moving in a circle, etc. is characteristic of many other Georgian dances.

"Adjarian dance": "Adjarian dance", like other dances, has been performed by women and men in ceremonial situations since time immemorial. The dance with the strong, active movements of the boys against the background of the gentle movements of the women makes a great impression. Interactions are free, light and even clumsy.

"Mountain dance": "Mountain dance" originates in the mountains and its content is based on a competitive rivalry, a fight between two groups of dancers. It is a true celebration of martial arts and skill. "Mountain dance" consists of different movements, knee tricks, tip toe tricks, turns, jumping movements, etc.

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 094

History of Georgian dances

"Ossuri": the main beauty of "Ossuri" is standing in its lines and slow rhythmic movement. The boy's difficult part is typical for this dance.

"Kintouri": "Kintouri" belongs to the number of urban dances and reflects the life of the old city in its essence. The name of the dance itself, is connected with the name of specialties the Old Tbilisi - merchants, kintos. The clothes of the dancers are also typical for kintos: a black satin trouser-coat and a red silk handkerchief tied in a silver belt. In these handkerchiefs, the kintos used to place the goods chosen by the buyer (mostly fruits or vegetables) for weighing. The insight, handiness and sociability characteristic of Kintos are well reflected in the choreographic solution of "Kintouri".

"Khorumi": "Khorumi" is a martial dance. At first it was performed by only a few people, but over time the number of performers increased, and in the modern version of Khorum, thirty to forty dancers can participate. Although the composition of the dancers has changed, the style of the dance itself has remained original and unchanged. The dance begins with several dancers entering the stage. They represent warriors who carefully scout the war territory before the battle. After that, the rest of the band members are called to the stage.

Georgia is a country that is distinguished by its diversity. Georgian folk choreography has a centuries-old history. Archaeological and ancient literary monuments that have reached us prove that the basis of Georgian folk choreography was the hunting dance, which was performed in honor of "Shushpa" (the god of fertility).

The Poem As A Cultural Bridge Between Serbia And India Made By

Two Extraordinary Women

On the friendship between Indian social worker and philanthropist Lady Meherbai Tata and Serbian writer, benefactress and world traveller Jelena J. Dimitrijević (1862-1945)

Jelena J. Dimitrijević Meherbai Tata
Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 096

In 1936 Serbian writer and first Serbian woman world traveller Jelena J. Dimitrijević (1862-1945) published a poem titled “Une vision”. What is so unique about this literary piece? This poem represents a very interesting literary and linguistic experiment. At a later age, Jelena decided again to surprise her readers at the time, as well as the literary public, with a poetic achievement, this time written in French. It is generally known that Jelena was a polyglot and knew several world languages, including French. From the cultural aspect, however, this poem has a much greater significance and hides a much deeper and more interesting story. Namely, already in the preface to this poem, which was first published in 1936, Jelena explains the reason for the creation of this poetic work, noting that she dedicates her verses to her deceased friend, the Indian Lady Meherbai (Dorabji) Tata (or Lady Dorab, as Jelena addresses her in the poem).

The story of socializing with Lady Dorab is not a superficial personal story that remains only at the level of their friendship and joint women's humanitarian activities.

For Jelena J. Dimitrijević, Lady Dorab is the embodiment of India, a country she visited in 1927 and which left a very strong impression on her. The story of Lady Dorab is also the story of the Parsis, an ethnic-religious group originally from Iran that follows Zoroastrian religious teachings whose customs, especially the burial ritual, is particularly interesting and worthy of attention. It is also the story of the famous Indian Tata family, which even today represents the very elite of Indian society. In a general sense, primarily philosophical and ontological, it is a story about the transitoriness of life, regardless of the society from which one comes, the tradition one belongs to, and the religious belief one follows. Every man is mortal and his presence on earth is temporary, while the soul is eternal. With the idea that the soul is eternal and that the body is only its mortal form, Jelena emphasizes an element of Zoroastrianism about which, by all accounts, she knew a lot even then. The poetess decided to summarize her philosophical-mystical idea in one, for that topic, a very suitable Latin sentence “Memento, homo quia pulvis es et pulverem reverteris” (“Remember, man, that you are dust and that you will return to dust”).

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 097

Jelena J. Dimitrijević wrote the poem “Une vision” in 1931, after she received the news that her noble Indian friend Lady Dorab Tata had died of leukemia. That sad news greatly shook the Serbian writer, and in 1931, in Paris, in her room, before midnight, she experienced a very unusual, almost mystical experience. The apparition that Jelena J. Dimitrijević had had a strong impact on her as a deeply emotional and highly sensitive poetic being. It is interesting that Jelena decided to share her unusual experience with her readers through poetry. At the moment when she profiled herself as a prose writer and a renowned travel writer, Jelena decides to express all the pain and suffering due to the loss of her dear friend in the form of a long poem. The description of death and the burial ritual of the Parsi people, especially touched the Serbian writer who was able to see for herself, during her stay in what was then Bombay, what the famous Towers of Silence looked like. They are so terrifying that even described in the poem, they have an undertone of something almost unreal cruel. Actually, it is a ritual based on Zoroastrian teachings which is very interesting in itself. Namely, the Parsis, following their Zoroastrian religion, are buried by taking the bodies of the deceased to the so-called Towers of Silence (circular elevated buildings) on the edge of whose ramparts, the vultures gather, which, after sensing the presence of human corpses, pounce on them and peck at human flesh and they eat everything to the bone. Even in the history of Herodotus, in the 5th century BC, it is recorded that the Zoroastrians exhibited the bodies of the dead in this way, while the first burial ritual of this type was recorded in the 9th century. The main reason why Parsis believe that the body should not be buried in the ground or burned is that they believe that earth and fire are sacred elements and as such must not be disturbed. Also, they believed that after death human corpses are “unclean” and immediately possessed by an evil spirit or demon. The only way of purification from evil forces is to expose the bodies and sacrifice them to the vultures. The description given by Jelena J. Dimitrijević in the preface to this poem, but also in the poem itself, is very vivid and poignant.

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 099

In the original edition of this poem from 1936, there is also a drawing illustrating the Towers of Silence. It is almost identical to an illustration of the Tower of Silence from the beginning of the 20th century that Jelena apparently had the opportunity to see, and for that reason she wanted to own a drawing similar to that illustration published in a famous travelogue that she certainly had the opportunity to read, since is a travel writer herself. In the year of the jubilee - 160th anniversary since the death of this very interesting and culturally very significant poetic work, we remember Jelena J. Dimitrijević, a woman of pen and inquisitive spirit, and her close friend, the noble Persian Lady Dorab Tata. The reprint of Jelena J. Dimitrijević's poem was prepared and published in 2016, in the year of the jubilee of this book, 80 years since its first edition. Along with the original in French, readers were presented for the first time with a Serbian translation in order to bring this, small in scope, but culturally significant book by Jelena J. Dimitrijević closer to the domestic reading audience.

INDIAN FESTIVAL & CULTURE WOMEN EMBLEM OF POWERDOM

India has ancient and unique cultural traditions, and its manifestations are still visible to this day. Due to its rich history, the cultures of the invading peoples have fused over the centuries and merged with the local community. Many cultural traditions (such as ceremonies) and existing monuments, such as the Taj Mahal and other examples of Islamic architecture, date back to the era of the Mughal emperors. The Indian community is a community that possesses many races, languages and cultures. Religious traditions are part of the daily life of the Indian community. Middle-class families take care of their children’s education. Conservative family traditions are still firmly rooted in society, although some members of urban families are trying to find a middle way between these traditions and the requirements of modern life.

Religious practices in India are public, often in a festive and colorful form. Diwali, Holi, and Dusera are among the most famous celebrations in the country. People of all faiths celebrate the harvest season (Pongal) in Tamil Nadu. Tbua many varieties of Indian music. One of the most important types of traditional music is Carnatic, which spreads in southern India, and Hindustani, which is a type that spreads in the north. Alongside traditional music, there is a very popular genre of music that gives Indian films their own character. In addition to these genres, there are local types of music in every region. There are many types of dance arts – Bharatanatyam, Odyssey, Kochibody… and others. These arts take a predominantly narrative character (similar to Indian epics) and sacred and other elements and characters are often included.

Indian literature was transmitted orally at first and then codified in a second stage. Most of its sources came from ancient Indian writings, similar to scriptures such as the “Vedas” and the epics “Mahabharata” and “Ramayana”. Sangam literature, a form of literature for which Tamil Nadu is known, is the oldest form of vernacular literature in India. Many Indian writers have emerged in the current era, and they predominantly use the Hindi and English languages. Rabindranath Tagore, the Nobel Prize winner for literature, who writes in the Bengali language, is the most famous of them all.

India produces the largest number of films in the world annually. Bollywood is one of the most famous aspects of this industry, is based in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), and produces many commercial films primarily. Besides Bollywood films, which are produced in the language of India, there are many other industries that produce films in other local languages: Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil and Tulugu. The Bengali director Satyajit Ray is the most famous character in the history of Indian cinema.

Rice and wheat (and taken in the form of bread) are the mainstay of the Indian diet. The local cuisine is diverse, and ingredients, spices, and cooking methods vary from region to region. The country is distinguished by its diverse vegetarian cuisine. There are different types of traditional clothing, varying in colors and shapes from one region to another. Sarees and shirt Sallwar constitute a traditional dress for women.

The culture of India generally refers to the thousands of distinct and unique cultures of all religions and societies present in India. The languages, religions, dances, music, architecture, foods and customs of India differ from one place to another in the country. Indian culture, often described as an amalgamation of several cultures, stretches across the Indian subcontinent and is influenced by a history spanning thousands of years. Many elements of India’s diverse cultures, such as Indian religions, philosophy, cuisine, languages, dance, music and films, have a profound influence throughout the Indian Ocean, Greater India, and the world.

The history of clothing in India has gone through many developments and radical changes, the beginning of which is precisely due to the ancient civilizations of the Indus Valley, those civilizations whose inhabitants have already contributed to leaving many of the ancient Indian costumes and clothes, which result from some famous historical epics such as the Mahabharata.

INDIAN FESTIVAL & CULTURE I WOMEN - EMBLEM OF POWERDOM

From these prosperous beginnings, India has already begun to produce and manufacture many fine and finely woven garments for both men and women, with the upper classes retaining some of the precious gold jewels.

The sari is one of the most famous Indian women’s fashion and consists of a piece of cloth, often silk, up to 8 meters in length. It is left without sewing and pins and knots are used to secure it. Indian women are proud of it and wear it on occasions, parties and weddings.

The sari was influenced somewhat by Western civilization, adding to it some elements that did not exist in the past, and it has several types, including the Nephi, Western and Marathi.

It consists of two pieces, a long wide shirt and wide pants at the top and narrow at the ankles, which is the most popular for its ease of wearing and being suitable for daily practical use.

Traditional clothing is deeply rooted in the culture and heritage of the Indian subcontinent. What makes Indian clothing beautiful and unique is the fact that it is still the dominant dress in India as well as Western fashion in its various types and shapes; They are elegant and colourful, lively and full of detail with a lot of flashiness and opulence, expressing the forms and patterns of the very wide diversity of the economic, religious and educational cultural situation in the Indian subcontinent. The traditional style of clothing in India distinguishes between men and women; Each gender has its own distinctive dress. It is known that India remains the most diverse in terms of its rich heritage of traditional clothing all over the world. Indian men and women have always loved traditional dress and accessories in festivals and other occasions that are an integral part of Indian social and cultural life, and these clothes have succeeded in attracting the attention of global markets, while retaining the traditions, they are not without a spirit of renewal and contemporary.

The history of the UAE and India is rich in cultural cooperation through which the leaders of the two countries seek to promote the values of tolerance, peace and openness to new cultures.

Culture is a solid bridge that extends the bonds of rapprochement between dif ferent peoples, and culminates in the efforts of countries to cooperate in several areas to be an essential basis for any joint action, whether economic, political or social.

The UAE and India are among the countries that have had the most bonds of cul tural cooperation. The visit of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to India in 1975 constituted the cornerstone of a new phase of relations between the two peoples, which began with the pearl trade more than 3,000 years ago.

The past years witnessed a growth in cultural cooperation between the UAE and India through cultural events and forums that celebrated the heritage of the two countries and the cultural heritage of each, and the selection of India as a guest of honor for the 29th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, as a new episode in a series of forums that drew the features of the cultural relationship between the two countries.

The Essence of Creativity

According to an old English proverb, "There is a great deal of unmapped country within us". Creativity is all about exploring it. Creativity allows us to see the world with new eyes, and it helps us “think outside the box” or in other terms, it enables us to make connections and associations that go outside the norms.

Creative thinking relates to originality and originality is synonymous with non-conformity. Simply put, creative persons don’t conform to norms and rules, they make their own. Originality however is not by itself enough for the creation of art or innovative projects. A creative person must be able to bring his or her visions to life. An original idea will forever remain an idea trapped within the thinker’s head unless it is transmuted to a story, a book, a film, a painting, a sculpture, or any other project.

Bringing a creative idea to life is a lot like raising a child. It is difficult, and it requires a lot of commitment, but the more the project progresses, and the idea comes closer to taking form, the happier and more satisfied the creator feels. Seeing an idea taking its ultimate form is the ultimate joy for a creative person.

There can’t be any innovation without creativity. Creativity is the power that moves societies, corporations, and mankind in general forward. It’s no wonder then that creativity is one of the most sought-after soft skills in the job market. Companies and corporations that take themselves seriously are always looking for creative persons and they will do everything in their power to recruit them.

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 108

The Essence of Creativity

However, there is a very important question regarding creativity: is it a talent that some lucky few are born with or a skill that pretty much anyone can learn or acquire? Up until a few years ago, people thought that creativity was a trait that couldn’t be acquired. Nowadays however this view has shifted. Not only is creativity considered a skill that can be learned, but it is the duty of teachers to help students become as creative as possible. It is now their duty to ensure that students can think outside the box and adapt to any challenge that they may face. Students should also learn how to leave their comfort zones and take calculated risks. Creativity unblocks old patterns or habits of thinking and allows for nonlinear thinking.

Creativity brings us beyond words. Creativity not only allows us to bring ideas to life and to express thoughts and feelings that can’t be expressed with words, but it also allows us to look into ourselves and know ourselves better. Furthermore, collaborative creative projects enable empathy and allow the participants to learn how to better communicate with other people and how to understand and accept other views and ideas.

It can be said then that creativity not only helps us understand and express who we really are, but it is also essential for bringing together people who seemingly have very few things in common.

The Greedy

People are of different nature

And this is why the world exists No world would have been in place If they would extinct, No dismay! See how someone could touch Your heart today?

Mendicants from ex-births

Cannot stable stay The world will stop manifesting In case they get away.

Therefore, don’t scold the greedy! They earn, spend less And then they die. Their pyres someone will decorate And send them to the sky, With fragrance of their riches

The Greedy

They will be buried in the ground

Or will be burnt, and then, Their ego will fly in the air And preserved vestiges Will grow in others again.

Greedy people will never end up on this earth They suffer for the rest of their lives, and then they die No point asking them, why!

Have mercy on the greedy! This is their destiny! January 25, 2022 Bhaktapur Nepal

Sunset

"I look forward to the day when human beings are more human than they have been until now, so that they can be better people."

All the houses looked worn after the rain, they looked clean, but aged. It seems that his joy slipped away by the torrent. The moss of the churches, thus washed, looked sadder and more slippery.

It seems that the city throbbed in copretérito.

It was expected that at night the debris left by comets Marsden and Kracht would be seen with the naked eye, which produce a phenomenon called the Delta Aquarids rain, probably for this reason, it cleared up so quickly.

In the streets, the people, hurrying, appeared to be ghosts that appeared for a moment, to disappear immediately, leaving empty spaces to shelter solitude.

In the sky there was a contrast with the string of colors of the afternoon twilight that quickly cleared, to give way to the illuminated night.

In the shelter of their home, two small children were playing in front of the television on and the youngest asked:

- What is a war rocket?

- It's a giant capsule that when it falls liquidates everything. – answered the other.

Meanwhile I looked at the sky, for a moment I saw names that were news of the day like Liza and Iryna Dmitrieva. I raised my hands in prayer, closed my eyes, felt the cold wind and cried out to God to stop all wars. I sat up again and saw stars dissolving in my hands.

I'm watching the body samples.

With my funds, I don't have much choice.

I've accumulated little points in my lifetime - I was a wench, so I get it coming.

I remained a man. Unfortunately, the specimens were sickly uglies with miserable lives.

I say I'd like to be someone famous - an actor or a musician.

They answer that nothing's for free - yes, one can have that life, but it will be mystery-saturated. I would have an addiction, depression and illness. No one will love me - they'd only want money and fame.

I sigh and decide - you can't win with dreams.

Let Be Proud! The Roses

The roses symbolize women, above all Instead of words say to love someone Accepting roses offered means love destiny Promising a beautiful pledge, able to marry

Deep secret feelings, love is budding What's better than flowers are bridging! The fragrance is pleasant, sweetest scent To beautify for love of loyalty in existence

No coincidence that roses are on the top

They're the idol that all of the flowers hope As a personality, they have scent and colors

Like women are beautiful and well-mannered

In cold rainy winter, they always show off colors

Like women express their delicate behavior

Experiencing the vicissitudes of life states

Fresh colors, nice fragrance, still passionate

Appearances and souls are always attractive

Women stand up and assert feminism, active

Let Be Proud! The Roses

Without fearing difficulty they plan to succeed

Like wonderful fresh roses in the garden indeed

Women are also thorny roses if someone minds Thorny because women don't live a drifting life Not soft and weak to live a negative existence For changing life, they rise their active strength

The roses have thorns to protect themselves. As a woman to protect conscience, nothing else Less beautiful she keeps courtesy for the blessing She is still loved by a lot of people being adoring

The fragrance from the human heart radiates Admirers call it discreet charm to dedicate Confident women expand their knowledge Powering their beliefs to progress more or less

Humbleness, honesty, and courage, don’t lack Love everyone so that they really love back Respecting them is a way to let them respect That peaceful way of treating people to connect

Women as flowers, despite any colors Should keep themselves spotless as ever Their energy is always full of vitality It means they repay the grace of life, you see HNC@All Rights Reserved

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 122

The current state of violence among human beings and its different manifestations such as personal and domestic violence, gangs, massacres, wars, environmental damage and nuclear weapons, among others, make us understand the need for change.

There is no possible future if it is not through peace, education and Nonviolence.

We are a collective of artists, cultural managers and organizations acting in favor of peace and nonviolence.

This initiative, which is being carried out from September 16 to October 2 of this year, was born from a group of artists, cultural managers and pacifist organizations, such as ASART, Transformation in Violent Times, Pacakua Society, World without Wars, from Costa Rich for the world.

Everyone knows the current state of violence between human beings and its different manifestations, among others, wars, xenophobia, gender violence, the destruction of the environment and nuclear weapons, nor do I need to convince them of the urgency of substantial changes throughout the world for the sake of building a culture of peace.

Costa Rica has been a benchmark for peace and human rights, for decades from the monkey of Don Jose Figueres Ferrer, the army was abolished and that amount of resources was invested in health, education and culture.

Today, faced with the new reality of violence, we are making proposals from our VIVA LA PAZ Festival, to provide people with tools that allow them to have more resilience, compassion for others and generate states of more peace and love, towards themselves and to the rest of the planet.

We have organized Conversations, International Poetry Festival, art exhibitions, Inauguration of murals in public places, Symbols of Peace with school students, Marches for Peace, exhibition of Photographs of Marches for Peace and Music concerts with messages of Peace and Nonviolence.

We are grateful from this small country for the support and for joining with soul and energy to this proposal where we dream of a better world.

The Dignity of Education Master

The first education was given by my education teacher, my life started with the education of the education teacher. Education master used to give more initiation with love, Education master Sohag disciplined more education.

The education master used to guide me on the right path, If I went on the wrong path, the education master would scold me loudly. He lived well like a child, He gave the light of education gradually. The teacher used to cry because of my failure, The teacher used to smile because of my success. The education master gave me a lot of blessings, I am still walking on the path of life with the strength of that blessing.

There is no comparison of the education master in this sense, I place the dignity of the education master in the big heart.

India is a holy land indeed. It enchants the soul with its uniqueness. He drinks away all his shortcomings With light steps full of hope

Because India is a holy country The Hindu goddess watches over us all And he rejoices with a small step. Who works for the good of humanity?

And I know that no one is perfect. But I know that faith gives me everything. To continue to dream my dreams And not to give up that easily

I definitely think that I am special. And that, regardless of everything, I have a desire To change the world for the better And that love would be very special.

I will not believe, I will not retreat, I'm confused and chased.

On that day, the being will use me, Happiness shines in the universe

No one will scare me that day, And no one needs to agree. enough for me my god

"Science is The Life of Volunteers"

In hadiths

"Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave" is not for nothing. As Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, "Knowledge is the life of the soul."

All existence, every particle of the infinite universe is the product of the Creator's great love and powerful knowledge.

From birth, a person walks towards the threshold of a great life, learning the stages of learning, such as the beginning of knowledge, walking, talking, greeting.

Science is a companion that illuminates a person's path in every way.

The precious thing which is the source mine of all knowledge is undoubtedly the book.

Undoubtedly, a book is a grateful friend who is always by one's side, lightens one's burdens, and guides one to the right path.

Every time I start and finish reading a new work, I find myself in a new world, atmosphere, and draw the conclusion I need from that work.

Recently, I finished reading the novel "40 Rules of Love" by the writer Elif Shafaq, whose dozens of novels and works have

Indian Festival & Culture I October Edition I 2022 - 135

"Science is The Life of Volunteers"

become world-famous, and whose books have become bestsellers. The book grabs readers' attention with its title.

In this novel, complex spiritual issues such as love and mutual understanding between people are skillfully illuminated.

Also, the main character Ella realizes true love and finds herself through love, Tabrizi and Rumi's life full of love, their love rules are revealed through all the characters.

It's not love you think it is, it's about divine Love.

While reading this book, after getting acquainted with the 40 rules of divine love, the questions of whether there is a rule of love in my life and whether I will follow it were stuck in my chest like an arrow.

The novel is written with such skill and vivid emotions that every person who reads it will find his/her own "I" by getting out of his/her stereotyped "I" and starting to search for his/her true self.

Every page of the novel is full of truths and wisdom.

You will discover your rules on every page of the book.

Also

It draws the reader's attention with the fusion of motifs related to the East and the West, the past and the present.

The sea

One night with the sea Today we are alone again, Days and nights are silently buried Heart strings became our anthem Friends and enemies are far from me.

Shaping the desires of my heart I said this day will come before you Sad songs and sad lyrics Tell them to stay away from us.

Let the heart play the song of life Great pains live in my heart. Sadness wanders in the heart, Teach me patience.

The sea... today I return to you

My life depends on you! Don't bother me, I'll tell you my pain. My dream is to fly with you!

My sea... The waves... eating like a pig May hearts like floods fall in love with you. May your heart rest in your soft voice Sing the strings of my heart, waves!

You're so excited, strange waves Let the feelings of sadness leave the heart. You eat in a way the world will recognize May bad thoughts and dreams leave us!

The Soul of Lanterns

In fire is light

In fire is heat

The light of lantern fire shines in the darkness

Like the living in a dark sin closing the heart and eyes

Fire is like the breath that gives life to every human being

Fire and heat are the spirit that runs in the blood

Moves all thoughts in benefit or futility

Like a fire that burns the longing

Longing to God

Longing to God's love

Longing to meet a time that has definitely been determined

With the fire of the lantern I walk down the dark alleys

Slowly towards the glittering gathering of eternal flames

Wakeful night

Why didn't they sleep, their faces are almonds Maybe he misses it, maybe he is looking forward to it. Night turned into day, morning into evening, Maybe he's waiting and he's hard on him.

Breezes bring a familiar song, Again the heart spits, the patience increases. The thunderbolts crushed the dark pearl, If he walks, he will stay. The eyes met, the cheeks were red, Hearts jumped, towards each other. Hearts long for only one word, I will love you until I die. Don't put my hands in your hands, My eyes are not drawn to you. Anyway, I'm waiting for you. Although there are good addresses, they are far away. Don't leave me in the river of two eyes...

THIS IS ME...

Sometimes my thoughts bring me

To where my darling sea. Then the wave of emotions infiltrate into the heart. As if the beach swallows me so hard.

Maybe my pupils will turn out to the sea Or else, dreams will make me dead, maybe. As long as my heart beats, Sea, you are the only cure to my pains.

Today, I thought, gazing at long distance I sunk in the feelings, indescribable.

From where did come the thought of the sea to the girl who didn't see even a river, like me.

As though I encountered the sea nearer Then it began to make inquiry: Who are you? Are you who Who fell in love with the briny?

Yeah yeah... You are not mistaken, it is me, I am on the earth, but unique on the sky! You are not mistaken, after all, that's me The sea that could not find its shore!

DREAM...

If you write, you write, don't stop for a while, if you please all hearts, collect the most beautiful lines, put in people's hearts forever.

If you write, you write, secret love, if it shows in each line, only the heart of a person full of feelings, wonderland will conquer a game.

If you write, you write, write quietly, don't lose your pencil just a moment, if no one bothers you, only if you are in the control of your feelings.

If you write, you write, don't know the quiet, if your feelings flow like a spring in your heart, do nothing else for the rest of your life, Well, if your writings are centuries old...
