TheNamibianPortsAuthority(Namport)welcomedPassengerliner,MVCosta Deliziosa,sailingundertheflagofItalyonitsmaidencallatthePortofWalvisBay onTuesdaythisweek.
TheCruiseshipwithacarryingcapacityof2 260 passengers, is currently on a 62-day world tour cruise, one-way from Triesto to Rio de Janeiro. The schedule started on 6 January and ends on 9 March. Costa DeliziosadepartedfromtheWalvisBayPort onthesamedayofitsarrivalandiscurrently sailing to its next port of call, Saint Helena, Jamestown.Namport'sExecutive:Commercial Services, Elias Mwenyo said, “passenger vessels bring holiday makers to the harbour towns who contribute significantlytothelocaltourismindustryby spending money at local shops, making use ofthepublictransportsystem,goingonday excursions as well as purchasing souvenir items from vendors who specialise in local artsandcrafts.”

The cruise ship Azamara Journey, sailingundertheflagof Maltawilldockatthe Walvis Bay Port on 6 March.
