Bbc 3 60 seconds & Newsround The animated graphics introduce to us what type of program it is by telling us the specific genres it would be talking about. Starts off with a high tempo sound that fades out to signal the start of when the presenter talks. The presenter introduces himself ‘Hello I’m Mat’ at the start introducing him and building a friendship with the audience rapport. His monotone voice rises and lowers during each entry of the start of a new topic almost like he is trying to grab the attention of the viewers like it was a casual conversation. He uses alliteration to bring out some humour within the sports new clip when he says “Murray mania to Murray misery”. The graphics matches with the sound and the way the presenter acts in the sense that it introduces itself with images of latest news and biz and prepares itself for the next program as mat says “Brand new heroes on three”. The speed of the host’s voice is at a fast speed as he is trying to cramp in multiple programs in the space for 60 Seconds meaning that it is a news programs that is shortened to fit into an advert slot. It can be compared to the sun newspaper in the sense they both use puns and humorous content that anyone could understand. Newsround The ident at the start is very long with vibrant colours and allot going on with the graphics. The attitude on Newsround is very informal in the sense that the presenter is dressed in chequered shirt which is unbuttoned and spiked up hair looking like he should be on the receiving end of the TV , the way he talks is similar to the BBC 60 seconds clip and it starts off with rapport language ‘hi there’ They treat the showbiz news the same way they treat the serious news they talk about which identifies the type of audience they are trying to appeal to (kids & young teens). In some of the new stories they tell they prefer to interview kids instead of adults showing the lack of seriousness they apply to the program and also contributes to the audience they are trying

to appeal to. The attitude of both the programs is the same but the information they try to give away is very different and that’s what separates the audiences between each other. Â
