Iceland Christmas Special Iceland is a supermarket chain in the UK & Ireland, Iceland’s primary product lines are frozen foods This Advert was released around Christmas 2008 Target audience of Iceland would be mums looking for bargain meals to feed a family lunch/dinner henche the slogan ‘So that’s why mums go to Iceland’ The location of the advert has two scenarios: Outside in the snow and inside the house were the party is being held. The scene shows the food set up on tables as guests are picking up small snacks from plates. In the background I See children playing & running around the whole set and adults talking amongst each other. The Characters in the advert (Kerry Katona & Guests) are singing a song called “It’s cold outside” whiles showing off the meals at the party and slightly seducing the male model to stay indoors away from the snow. A Quick zoom out from outdoors of where it shows snow and into indoors were it looks warm and everyone is having fun .Pan shots show the mise-en-scene throughout the ad. Close up shots on each plate of food with prices and the bottom of the screen give the audience a quick sense of the bargains Iceland have to offer. A Diverse use of colours and visual techniques were used to pull off a great finish to the advert. The set of the advert doesn’t look to expensive but seems like it took allot of rehearsal and practice to pull it off in a couple of takes.
