News at 10 BBC news at 10 The use of video synced with audio is done well as in the start of the news broadcast is a loud bang in the instrumental syncing with the montage clip of a bomb exploding in the background, having everything in sync makes the audience feel like a sense of being a part of the clip by becoming gripped to the video. The syncing to the beat on every ‘beep’ continues throughout the 60 seconds of montage clips. When the 60 seconds is done the presenter takes a break and stares into the camera waiting for the last beat drop as a sign to start talking, doing this is to get the timing correct so each story would be in time with his speech. Between shots images of cutout people placed on backgrounds are used instead of footage at the beginning of some of the stories being told. Green screen background next to the presenter showing images of whatever is being reported so that the audience can visualise the stories along the way, it is placed next to the presenter so the mise-en-scene of everything moving is seen. The host holds up pieces of paper that appears to be blank as he would be reading off a teleprompter this is to come across as more professional and keeps the tradition of being a news presenter as before teleprompters that was the main use of reading headlines. The targeted audience would be of those 20+ due to the language presented professionally that most people of younger ages either wouldn’t understand or would find very boring and dull.
