In Luminescence, there are mainly 3 spaces with different atmosphere that makes up the atmosphere of Persona as a whole. The journey of the bath house is a smooth circulation starting from the brightest outdoor pool space to the perforated indoor warm pool and lastly to the darkest hot spa space. The light transforms from the brightest to the darkest just like the circulation of the movement from the outdoor space to the indoor space. Each space has different materiality which provides its very own atmosphere. The warm pool area mimics the atmosphere of the clip “In the Mood for Love” which has perforated walls to provide delicate lightnings and makes the space not so bright yet not so dark (figure 2). The colourful tiles on the floor also gives the space a more playful sense that reflects the clip.

The hot spa area is very massive and has heavy concrete walls that reflects on the clip “Brazil”. The hot spa space is also the darkest space in the entire spa which has dim lights and other light source coming in from the first and second space (figure 3). There are many moments in the entire building and people can see all these moments at a glance as they are walking down the ramp from the entrance where the light mainly transforms from bright to dark (figure 1), and this is also the reason why the entrance is at the middle of the entire architecture.

The U House is a multi- housing unit desined for local families, couples, and students located in Galt, Cambridge. The building has two stories with a green roof garden on the second floor and the concept of this building is the U shape modules. The rooms, units, and the building itself are entirely made out of these different sizes of U shape modules with the connection of glass. In collaboration with Cindy Lan, Weeney Lin and Vanessa Sokic Programs used: Rhinoceros, Illustrator, Photoshop

SHELL
SSEF Competition Entry Location: Palawan, Phillipines Course: 1B Building Construction Supervisor: Terri Mayer Boake Most of the ocean around the Philippines sea shore have a depth of around 25 meters deep to 100 meters deep. While a lot of the ocean is swimmable, it is very hard to access the ocean. The Sea Shell (an abbreviation from Sea Shelter) is a floating platform made out of timber, glass and steel for resting and recreational purposes in the ocean; thus it creates an opportunity to explore the ocean more. Ocean users, especially snorkelers and scuba divers are no longer limited by the accessibility of transportation. Multiple Sea Shells are set up at a swimmable distance from the sea shore. Therefore, users can base at the platforms, instead of affording boats, and can still explore a fair share amount of the ocean.

NORTHCLIFF LIBRARY Urban Micro Institution Location: Northcliff Blvd, Toronto Course: 1B Design Studio Supervisor: Donald McKay The main idea behind this library is the different experience of volume and heights where people first enter the library with a three-stories-tall atrium and then go up to the reading area that has a 6m floor to ceiling space and lastly to the enclosed one-floor hackers lab on the third floor. The library also intermixes with the concept of weaving where people experience it through the floor-to-ceiling weaving bookshelves on the second floor thats accented with several embedded study cubes in the bookshelves to distinguish another atmosphere of privacy in the building.

RIPARIAN VEGETATION DISTRIBUTION Lanscape architecture / Research Site: Brantford, ON Course: 2B Design Studio Supervisor: Jane Hutton This is a landscape and research project where we study the riparian zone of our site in Brantford Graevl Pit and the vegetation and water level changes during different season. The diagram below is 5 sections of riparian zone study models that we made where the 5th one is at current stage and it shows how the land and sediment by the river bank transformed and shaped overtime by the river’s seasonal flooding. The plan and diagram beside show the water flooding level and the vegetation growth in 5 different stages and the intervention on the 5th model marks the water level changes each time. Model Materials: Clay, Soap, Foam, Craft moss

FISH HABITAT RESTORATION/ RESEARCH Course: 2B Design Studio Supervisor: Jane Hutton A study of restoration methods to improve fish habitat in our site, Brantford Gravel Pit.
Removing River Dams Fish Habitat Restoration

Upstream Impacts: • Reduced natural function, water quality, oxygen, turbid flow, circulation, available habitat. rivers ability to adjust horizontally and vertically (reduce resillience to change) • Increased pollutant accumulation, stratification, temperature, algae blooms
Downstream Impacts:
• Loss of natural transport processes of sediments, nutrients and debris self- sustaining nature
• Reduced water quality & riverbed Elevation
Debris Jam
• Altered flow regime & temperatures • Starved of sediment, nutrients & debris (habitat building blocls)

Boulder Clusters and Rock Piles Boulders placed (individually or in clusters) in streams and small rivers can break fast-moving currents and provide a resting area for fish. Large boulders Brantford (more than half a metre in diameter) are more preferable and they are usually placed away from the shoreline, particularly if they are likely to increase the speed of the current. In small lakes and ponds, piles of boulders or concrete blocks can be used to create a favourable spawning spot and attract a variety of fish, including bass, panfish, bullheads and walleye.

WORK EXPERIENCE 圓境綠能生態聯合建築師事務所 Ecoland Corporation Architecture Firm Taipei, Taiwan Summer Internship, 2017 June - August Architectural Assistant, 3D Rhino Modeler
Ecoland Corporation is a leading company for green building designs in Taipei, Taiwan. I was greatful to get a chance to work in their architecture firm this past summer 2017. The project I was working on in Ecoland was an undeveloped commercial building in the corner of the science park in Guangzhou Science city, Guangdong, China. Since it was located in a park and the company’s target was green designs, the design team descided to create two commercial buildings into irregular tree-like shape connected by a shopping mall at the bottom which is suppose to be a hill. I spent the majority of my time with the design team and I was involved in various stages of the project. I sketched and recreated first stage designs for the building to become more sustainable and calculated the floor area several times to meet the client’s need. However, my main task was to model the commercial building in Rhinoceros to make it closer to reality and convinient for construction but still keep the irregular tree- like design at the same time. The pictures on the right are the design that I modelled for the company and what the architect showed to the client.

HLW International LLP New York City, United States Co-op Internship, 2018 January -April Architectural Intern
I had an 4-month architectural Co-op internship in HLW International LLP head quarter office in New York, a leading architectural and interior firm in the United States, and I was assigned to work in the base building department. I spent the majority of my time with the architectural team and I completed a variety of design tasks including design research, developing 3D models and renderings, preparing for presentations, bidding documentation, and construction documentation with assist of team members. I also developed my revit skill during my 4 month intership at HLW as I was working on revit for the majority of the time. I’ve worked on many different project types such as high-rise residential towers, hotel renovation as well as interior design at many different phases of the project. The rendering above and the work on the next page is a design pitch that I worked on for an office building lobby renovation in New York City. I’ve also worked on architectural graphics and redering works like presentation packages and Donor’s book. HLW Jersey City residential roundup beside is an example of what I’ve worked on. http://www.hlwstoryboard.com/blog/jersey-city-residential-roundup-2017
