MATHEMATICS Students wishing to enroll in math courses must demonstrate their eligibility by either completing the appropriate prerequisite course with a grade of “C” or higher or by achieving an appropriate score on the Computerized Placement Test (CPT). Student support for math courses is available at all of the LBCC campuses. These are open-study areas where students may work, use learning resources, and receive assistance with their math courses. Drop-In Math Help at the Benton Center: Corvallis Campus: The Benton Center Math Lab is located in Room BC-232. Hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. See other sections in this schedule of classes for drop-in math help times at the other campuses. SELF-DIRECTED MATH COURSES LBCC offers MTH 020, MTH 060, MTH 065, MTH 095 and MTH 097 classes in a self-directed format. • Self-directed classes all have an online computer component and require testing at one of the LBCC campuses. • There are no class meetings; students contact their instructor via e-mail and/or phone. • It is strongly recommended that students consider whether they need a structured learning environment before they register in a self-directed course. • Classes in the self-directed format offer students a great deal of flexibility, but students should plan on spending more time than if they were in a lecture section.

Interactive television course Register prior to first class Register at offering center Open entry Prerequisite required; see catalog or advisor. Seminar fee or lab fee payable with registration or in class. (see course descriptions for lab fees.)
