Buses 61 and 63 from the city centre stop on the Bristol Road at its junction with Edgbaston Park Road. SUMMER SKETCHBOOKS! – 12, 13 & 14 AUGUST Can you create your own sketchbook in 3 days? Yes you can! Work with our artists Benny and Ruth to create drawings and prints inspired by our collection. Then use them to build your own unique sketchbook on day 3. They’re sketchbooks – but not as you know them! Day 1: Still life drawing / Day 2: Print / Day 3: Creating your book £25 per child per course, booking essential.

DASTARDLY ST.GEORGE’S DAY DRAGONS Easter Art School TUESDAY 22 & WEDNESDAY 23 APRIL 11AM – 12.30PM (AGES 4-8); 1.30 – 3PM (AGES 8 UPWARDS) Inspired by dragons in the galleries, design your own dragon on day one, then bring it to life in sculpture on day two! £15 per child. Booking essential. TREASURE HUNT With Chinese goddess Guan Yin saturDAY 17 may 11am – 12.30pm Join us to celebrate the opening of Chinese Lives in Birmingham. The exhibition will officially open at 11am – then younger visitors (and parents too!) can take part in Guan Yin’s treasure hunt around the Barber galleries. Free – no booking required.
BUGS, BEES, PLANTS & TREES Family Day at the Barber and Winterbourne SATURDAY 31 MAY 11AM – 4PM (5PM WINTERBOURNE) Buzz along for some natureinspired fun! Peer into paintings to find a parrot, love birds, a wiggly worm and a caterpillar! Enjoy storytelling, make your own bugs in our drop-in activity, and complete a wonderful wildlife trail. See a falconry display and meet the Animal Man – and have your face painted too! FREE – drop-in any time! Admission charges apply at Winterbourne House and gardens. SHIP AHOY! Bank Holiday Family Day saturDAY 25 AUGUST 11am – 3pm Become a pirate and go on a voyage with our seafaring storyteller. Make a nautical flag and enjoy our sea-themed selection of animations and films, then hunt for the treasure in the galleries following our treasure map! FREE – drop-in anytime!

Annamation Storytellers return to tell mooninspired tales in the galleries, to celebrate the Chinese Moon Festival.
