How-to-Fest FAQs

MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS Our Patron Circle program operates on a calendar year basis. While we refer to you and others as “members,” the program is more specifically an annual subscription, with a significant tax-deductible charitable contribution. You can join initially at any time to enjoy your first festival. Afterwards, we encourage you to renew promptly for the following year, settling into an annual year-end renewal cycle (December or January, whichever is better for you tax-wise). As a core part of our support structure, you and other Patron Circle members are providing essential working capital that helps fund both our team’s festival planning work and our year-round student education and community outreach programs. PATRON CIRCLE CREDENTIALS A personalized credential is required for access to all NVFF events. When you make your Patron Circle purchase, you let us know where you’d like to pick up your credential(s). You’ll choose from one of our four village box offices (especially if you live here in Napa Valley), or choose to visit us at our private VIP check-in lounge at the Westin Verasa Napa. Of course, you can always contact us to make special arrangements. Credentials are always delivered in person with photo IDs and a signature required to make sure you - and not someone else are actually taking possession of what you paid for.

Private VIP checkin lounge, Westin Verasa Napa

ACCESS TO FESTIVAL VENUES With credential in hand, you always enter first, provided you are present when the doors open, typically 20-30 minutes before show times. Some venues have private entrances, and all special events have dedicated staff waiting to welcome you. Patrons are followed by Pass Plus holders, and then Festival and Day Pass holders. Non-passholders wait in a rush line and purchase tickets if space remains after all Patrons and passholders have entered. Please be aware that if you are running late, you do run the risk of being shut out of popular screenings at our most intimate venues. A-Listers and Movie Moguls are able to call our concierge line to have seats held. FESTIVAL DRESS CODE For the most part, Napa Valley is casual in a stylish and chic manner. For evening events, we encourage dressing-to-impress given the caliber of attendees and celebratory nature of the festival. The Festival Gala is the most fancy, with men in colorful jackets and suits and women in everything from party dresses to ball gowns. Keep in mind that Napa cools down considerably each evening; we encourage you to dress in layers. GETTING AROUND For maximum enjoyment, we recommend staying out of your car. If you must travel from one village to another, you can use your own car (though please festival responsibly), or call Uber (more active in the Valley), of for pre-arranged private transportation, please call Rose at Beau Wine Tours at 707.257.0887. Remember to ask for your Patron Circle discount. If you are Movie Moguls, enjoy the added benefit of a dedicated luxury LEXUS car and driver during the length of your festival stay.

GUIDANCE ON PLANNING YOUR FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE Our festival program can be overwhelming. To make sure you have the most amazing experience each year, we do our best to get to know you and your particular likes and preferences. Once you’ve signed up for the first time, we’ll be in touch for a conversation. At the Patron Circle First Look Preview Party, we provide a comprehensive and customized screening and event itinerary. We will email this to everyone not able to attend. NVFF Founder and Executive & Artistic Director Marc Lhormer is also happy to talk with you about your particular interests. Any questions, please call Fearon DeWeese or Michael Fox at anytime at 707.226.7500. CONCIERGE SERVICE DURING THE FESTIVAL We provide contact names and numbers you can call for support while you are here during the festival. Patrons have a hotline to Patron Circle support. A-Listers have more focused and full concierge service. And Movie Moguls enjoy dedicated concierge service to go along with private cars and drivers. WHERE CAN I LEARN MORE? We encourage you to call Fearon or Michael or visit our web site: www.napavalleyfilmfest.org. Always check our website for the most current information. Our site should be responsive to your mobile phone; do let us know if it’s not getting you the answers you need.
