A DAY AT INFOSYS GEC-II CAMPUS, MYSORE

Oct 10, 2009, is the most remarkable day for the students of Job Information & Placement Cell (JIPC), 2009-10, Government Science College, Hassan. Under SPARK training Programme - Infosys permitted us to visit their Mysore Campus. With much enthusiasm, hopes and pre-preparation we were ready to visit Infosys. Bus with 43 JIPC students and the pioneer of JIPC team Prof.A.Narayana Prasad left Hassan to Mysore at 5:45 am. After security checkups, we were allowed to enter the Infosys campus. The training was held at the Induction hall situated in the newly inaugurated GEC-II building of Infosys. It’s a huge hall equipped with four LCD screens and is used to educate and train nearly 600 students at a given time. Each student was given a kit. The programme was handled by the trainee Mr.Sreejith. He welcomed us. Soon after, we were taken for Infosys campus tour. The tour was scheduled for 1-hour, later on, our training started at Induction hall. Mr.Sreejith presented twelve principles for success, which are essential for the students for their career growth. Mr.Sreejith was successful in demonstrating his presentation by using some typical activities which reached the hearts and minds of the students.

-2Our friend Mr.Nadeemulla sheriff participated in one such activity. The way Mr.Sreejith communicated with the masses, was enjoyable, his passion in his work was outstanding and remarkable. He also gave a simple formula to over come our sorrows. Our JIPC team created a psalm in the programme, by releasing JIPC’s first newsletter. Mr.Sreejith released the newsletter. Infosys is known for the best infrastructure. It reflects the architecture of various countries. We were taken to different parts of Infosys. We went to open air theatre, Origami building after which our team enjoyed the cycle ride, we went through multiplex, shopping complex, we visited one of the best and vast library of Infosys. Later-on at GEC-I, we memorized Mr.Akaknsh, the previous year senior student of our college who had an opportunity to speak at MG Hall. At last, we were near the magnanimous and beautiful GEC-II building. With Group Photos and individual photos in front of GEC-II, we ended our journey. To conclude, a day at Infosys was most memorable and enjoyable. Especially Mr.Sreejith’s presentation injected the inspiration and motivated the students. We thank Infosys for granting a day for us in their Campus. Also, we thank our Principal Prof.H.V.Lakshminarayan and Prof.Narayana Prasad., Head, Dept.of Hindi and Convener, JIPC for getting permission from Infosys and also being with us at Infosys till the end. -Purushottham K Prabhu, III B.Sc (P.C.M) BANKS - EXAM STRATEGY “It is a ‘guesstimate’ that a candidate needs to score about 50-60% marks to have a good chance of qualifying for the next and final round. However, this may vary and will depend on the level of difficulty of the paper and competition. Spend least possible time on GK. Since if you don’t know the answer, you are unlikely to remember it anyway. Since, most questions in Maths and Reasoning require to be solved, allot more time to these two. The exam. Has negative marking. So guessing recklessly will backfire. But if you can eliminate three out of five options, go ahead & guess judiciously. Finally, solving model papers in the given time limit will help you to build speed and assess your performance. So it is strongly recommended that you solve a large number of model papers.
