_01 MAR VISTA RESIDENCE
This was one of the first projects I worked on after I moved to the United States. The house belonged to a young family with two children. It initially started as a minor remodel, and gradually evolved into a major renovation and essentially a new hous, completely different from the existing bungalow features. The clients required a space which connects the front porch to the house, where they can take advantage of breeze and cool weather of Santa Monica, meanwhile the children can play both in front and back yard of the property. Unfortunately due to economical reasons, the project never came to fruition and didn’t go beyond DD & SD phases.

_02 INDULGE TREATMENT BAR
1053 5th Avenue N. Naples, FL 34102
Indulge Treatment Bar is a Hair treatment and beauty salon, that is founded by a female entrepreneur. In close collaboration with the owner, we came up with the idea to create an environment where clientele could enjoy coffee and mocktails while waiting for their appointment. At the same time with a consultant, they were able to choose and mix color combinations that they would later be used in their treatment process. The space was divided into 3 sections. The Font where the clients were greeted and would wait for their appointment, The Middle section which took more than ⅔ of the whole space, is where the treatment and work would occur, and the Back where staff would rest, prepare the color chemicals, and mixes for the final procedure.

Working remotely on this project, had a unique challenge. Since the whole interior design and furniture pieces were unique & custom, in addition to a complete set of CD package, we would need to prepare a set of shop drawings, where the carpentry contractors & other specialists would be able to easily read and understand the concept and idea behind each piece. Modeling the whole space in BIM allowed us to generate all sorts of drawings, details, sections,s and axonometric models for all pieces to aid the communication with the construction crew.

_03 MERIDIAN RESIDENCE
This residential addition is located in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles. The owners, a high school teacher, and an accountant wanted to add to the rear portion of their house and create a primary suite, as the previous version was small and was not meet the couple’s needs. Even though the budget was modest, they required a solution that would be contemporary and current but not boxy and repetitive. Floor Plan 1/8” = 1’-0”
After various variations, we arrived at the current solution. For the cladding initially, we were going to use cementitious panels, however, later the decision was made to wrap the house with weather-treated wood cladding

_04 BUNGALOW HEAVEN RESIDENCE
This house is located in the Bungalow Heaven Neighborhood of Pasadena. The owners were a young family with 2 children. After children had grown up they needed more space for their daily life and the current space would not suffice the family’s needs. Even though the house was a 1 story structure the owners required a second story where new bedrooms and a primary suite could be located at. B. Heaven is one of several historic neighborhoods where any addition and alteration goes under intensive review from the city’s Historic board and the neighborhood preservation committee.

A big challenge for this project was the fact, that the original house was altered so many times by previous owners, that it had lost its’ historic value. The design guidelines by the city prohibited a solution that would copy the traditional elements. This means the building should be quite different to identify as a new remodel, but not modern that ruins the fabric of
the neighborhood. We had to participate in a few board meetings and go through a handful of revisions to arrive at the final solutions

_05 F45 DTLA
F45 Down Town Los Angeles is a tenant improvement project and interior design remodel, located on the ground floor of Wells Fargo towers on Hope street. This project was the first project that I was doing out of the office on my own in the US. Besides the franchising company, The building management, considering, the importance of the location, had a strict set of design and construction guidelines. I had to work with an Architect of Record as I’m still on the path to obtaining my licensure. We had to prepare a thorough set of construction documents, where I drew every elevation and detail in the project, to satisfy both the F45 headquarters and the building management’s demands.

_06 TRANSFORMER “Transformer” is a multifunctional mobile center that can operate as a stage, computer lab, library, exhibition and etc. Traveling through regions of Armenia, it stops in different cities’ public places, offering a unique and free platform for participation into discussions, processes, and education around cultural and socioeconomic topics. After protests against illegal construction in Mashtoc Park, the importance of a platform which could move easily around and raise awareness by bringing up discussions became clear. The main concept was taken from cultural palaces, which existed during Soviet Union times, all over the country.

The project came to fruition in collaboration with a local steel structure company and art schools and foundations. The importance of simplicity was evident from the getgo. The stage needed to be assembled by one or two operators of the truck in a short period of time. Also, it needed to be basic enough so it could be serviced and repaired in remote areas. Additionally, the furniture needed to be modular and multifunctional for ease of transport and limited space behind the truck. In order to involve the local communities, design charrettes were organized with one of the local art school’s students who had valuable input on the final results of the project.
