Rev. Dr. J. Carl Rahming ST. PAU L’S BA P T IS T C HU R C H
On November 23th, 1943, the former slave village of Fox Hill was blessed by the birth of a male child, who will later be referred to as “The Mayor of Fox Hill”. The birth of Rev. Dr. J. Carl Rahming would soon prove to be no ordinary birth, as he would rise to be an extraordinary Fox Hillian. He would grow to teach the people of Fox Hill that true freedom can only be found in Jesus Christ. This dynamic teacher, author and preacher began his early education at the Sandilands Primary School and then went to the Southern Senior High School. He was not satisfied with just the basics in academic training. Therefore, he furthered his education at the Bahamas Baptist Bible Institute and Universal Bible College Inc. Later he received a honorary Doctorate degree Baptist Christian University. At the very young age of 24 Rev. Rahming was ordained as a deacon, and became a minister in 1976. His first pastorate was the Progressive Baptist Church (where he served until 1982) it was then that he decided to take up the leadership mantle of “The Church where everybody is somebody”. He took on the leadership role of the St. Paul’s Baptist Church (Fox Hill) after the death of the late Rev. Leroy Roker. Rev. Rahming’s belief that the foundation of a preacher’s message should always be “Salvation through Jesus Christ” has resulted in him being a well sought after minister. He has preached in many churches locally and all over the United States of America. Rev. Rahming is married to Evangeline Rahming formerly Butler, affectionately called “Mom “by their church members. They have five children namely, Michelle Bodie, Kimberley Deleveaux, Carla Brown, Carl Jr., Rev. Reuben Rahming and Minister Ricardo Taylor. Pastor & Mother Rahming are blessed with 16 grandchildren and 4 great grands.
