Response of the Ordained Evangelist Nathaniel L. Pratt Pastor Ian R. Ferguson
I Am Determined To Hold Out To The End
When I first found Jesus something o’er me stole, like lightning it went through me, and glory filled my soul; salvation made me happy, and took my fears away, and when I meet old Satan to him I always say:
Chorus I am determined to hold out to the end, Jesus is with me, on Him I can depend, and I know I have salvation for I feel it in my soul, I am determined to hold out to the end. Satan, he was angry, said he’ll soon be back, just let the path get narrow, and he will lose the track; but I’m so full of glory, my Lord I always find, and I just say to Satan, “Old man, get thee behind.” This old-time religion makes me sometime shout, I don’t have time to gossip nor any time to pout; They say that I’m too noisy, but when these blessings flow, I shout, O hallelujah, I want the world to know. When I hear the trumpet sounding in the sky, and see the mountains trembling, to heaven I will fly; For Jesus will be calling, there’ll be no time to mend, with joy I’ll go up singing, “I’ve held out to the end.” Closing prayer & Benediction Bishop Nelson Ferguson

Church History
When Bishop Storr started pastoring First Born Church of God, the building was just a shell with window, doors, benches and no ceiling; everything was just rough finished work. Leading in ministry was not easy, both him and First Lady Martha Storr went through
In 1996 NFC went through major renovation. The church’s original foundation remained the same from the ground up to belt course, but the pulpit area was expanded and a balcony, offices, receptionist area and restrooms were built. Additionally, a kitchen, library, computer lab and multipurpose spaces were added for NFC’s Community Centre For Life, an outreach program catering to the Englerston community. Currently through the leadership of Bishop W. Reynold Storr and First Lady Pastor Martha Storr NFC has already began the process of building a multi-million dollar sanctuary and community centre which will allow NFC to better cater to the Englerston and neighboring communities and to be a blessing to the body of Christ. We believe that if God started this work, He is able to complete it. We have only just begun!
ORDINATION SERVICE
On April 3rd 1977 Wilbert Storr was ordained a Pastor and Bishop by Bishop Harold Mitchell and the late Bishop John Davis of the Dixie Church of God. He began pastoring First Born Church of God in August 1979. Bishop Storr did not officially use the title of Bishop until much later in ministry because initially he felt he was too young to be called a Bishop.
Through much fasting and prayer, God spoke to Bishop and First Lady Storr to change the name of the church. On October 3rd 1988 the name was changed from First Born Church of God to Nassau Fellowship Centre (NFC). It was not easy; many members left the church because of this. NFC started with only seven members, but God continued to bless the ministry as it grew.
NFC |
Two years before he died, God showed Bishop Mitchell a vision. He was swimming in the ocean and knew that he was going to drown but he looked around and kept on crying out for help. Wilbert Storr, who was twenty four years old, reached out his hand and pulled Bishop Mitchell out of the water. Bishop Mitchell knew then that Wilbert was the one who would succeed him as Pastor of the church. Wilbert was reluctant to accept the office of Pastor, but after praying and seeking God’s will; God revealed to him his calling within ministry.
many trials but God brought them through. From 1983 through 1988 a strong conviction was placed in the heart of Bishop Storr to take the church to a new dimension. It was during that time that the Lord lead Bishop Storr to move into the charismatic ministry. This was a major crossroad for the church.
7
The late Bishop Harold Mitchell and Melvese Mitchell started the First Born Church Of God on August 29th 1969. Bishop Mitchell was an anointed preacher and a trailblazer in his time. He preached the gospel throughout The Bahamas, the United States of America and the Caribbean; and God used him mighty in the gift of healing.
