Masther’s degree: Unit La Puerta Tutor: Fernando Rodriguez The relationship of the city of Lisbon with the water is vital in its history, a changing and dynamic relationship that is modified with the construction in November 1962 of Puente 25 de Abril. A total of 2.27 kilometers long and 190 meters high, made out of metal and concrete that connects the neighborhoods of Almada and Alcántara, building new limits of a sectional space that, today, is presented as a project opportunity. The project is organized by inserting three elements that occupy the free space in section, connecting the elevation of the city with that of the bridge, improving the accessibility of trains, cars and pedestrians, and offering a unique new experience. A rectangular tower, located on one side of the bridge on one of its anchoring blocks next to the first concrete support; another tower with a circular plan that is located on the other side of the bridge tangentially to the last metal support; and the footbridge that joins both towers below the deck of the bridge.

SCAFFOLDING
Bachelor’s degree, Studio IX: Unit Martin Felsen Team: Ana Rodriguez The project is located in the center of the city of Chicago, taking part in one of the most emblematic buildings of the city, the old post office, which is currently abandoned and going in line across three more buildings that are located on the other side of the river. A symbol of this city are scaffolds and they are part of the urban landscape, so the idea is to create a big megastructure taking part of this ephemeral structure, giving it a different utility, but never forgetting its temporal use. The circulations consists of ramps and elevators that connect the main streets with the park in the big platform. All the houses are elevated and the access is through stairs; therefore, all the scaffolds are connected with passages to make the walk easier through them. The minimal houses are designed for millenials, the materials are prefabricated so they have an easy transportation.

Bachelor’s degree, Studio X: Unit Pezzo VonEllrichshausen Team: Ana Rodriguez From the analysis of Villa Adriana represented in the inventory, the project consists of the development of a gymnasium and residence program that takes the transverse axsis of a main rectangle and divides it into three parts taking the extremes creating a symbolic shape from the inventory symetrically. The gym is developed underground with two courtyards that introduce the light inside and the residence above ground, although there is a very strong exterior made out of a free atmosphere where everybody can see what is happening inthe rest of the building. It is more hyghlighted in the gym than in the apartments, giving them the privacy that they need. Moreover the balconies are supported to big beams in the roof trhough metal tensors. 14

LA DIFUSIÓN DE LOS LÍMITES Bachelor’s degree, Studio 8: Unit Ramos
The project is located in Vienna, and begins with the design of a single house in detail that can be located anywhere. A glazed house is proposed for the greater capture of light and heat, formally it is decomposing in height generating outdoor terraces and obtaining different views. On the ground floor are the more public rooms such as the living room and the kitchen, having a transition floor where the bathroom is placed and finally the room being the most private room. The entire house is traversed through a spiral staircase, and metal materials are used for the entire construction. Next to this project, an urban landscape is designed in the same city, several housing prototypes are selected from the studio and the landscape is developed. 16

LA TRANSICIÓN DE KLINT Bachelor’s degree, Studio 8: Unit Ramos
It is located next to the river Danube, and a transformation of the painting of the Kiss of Klint is proposed. Thus the landscape is divided into four bands, in which the vegetation gradually gets thicker. In the first band are the houses with small gardens, then a second with small lakes appears, in the third we find a more rugged terrain with vegetation and finally a forest that separates the city. Along the river, a recreational port is designed with a connection to the other shore. 18

ZERO
Bachelor’s degree, Studio 7: Unit Federico Soriano Team: Paula Martínez The project is located in Vallecas, it started individually by analazyng different aspects of the neigborhood such as trash or accesibility. When we mixed our analysis, we begins to design a residential bulding with two important elements: the facade and the houses. All the houses will be made of 3d printed concrete, will be accessible and will be oriented in the most optimal way for light and wind. The façade is designed through a prototype where the water circulates, which will be recycled for the vegetation on the roof and in turn will generate energy for the entire building. 20

LE BLOB
Bachelor’s degree, Digital Fabrication: Peluso Team: Pablo Arboleya and Miguel Herreras The installation is located in the IIT Mies Campus in Chicago, it is designed through a geometricl analysis, we obtained six patterns of the most representatives churches, placing one on top of another molded the interior creating a cathedral light shape that reproduce the sensation of looking towards the domes of the barroque churches, secondary holes are opened creating an indoor outdoor connection, visitor enter through a hole located between the three pillars.
