Greece
A presentation by the 6th Graders of the 10th Helioupolis Primary School
Who are we? • We are the 6th Graders of the 10th Helioupolis Primary School. We live in Helioupolis which is very close to Athens, the capital of Greece.
Greece’s borders • The official name of our country is Hellas. Hellas (Greece) is actually a peninsula. Greece shares borders with Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey and F.Y.R.O.M. Greece borders the Aegean Sea, the Ionian Sea and the Libyan Sea.
Our country’s weather and landforms • The country is mostly mountainous in the Mainland. There are some green plains, some rivers but there are lots of islands and a very long coast line. The weather is mild in winter and warm in the cities in the summer but cool in the islands. It rarely rains but it rains heavily in the Ionian islands.
Greek people • People of Greece are mainly of Greek origin, they speak Greek and they are Christian Orthodox. There are also quite a few minorities.
Our opinion • We think living in Greece is awesome because its great weather and beautiful beaches.
