Context The Yorkshire Dales (also known simply as The Dales) is an upland area of Northern England dissected by numerous valleys. The cuisine of Yorkshire and that of northern England in general is known for its rich ingredients, especially in sweet dishes. Brief or Tasks Produce branding for the new opening of a restaurant based in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. For this you will be asked to produce all materials that will be needed for the opening and running of the restaurant including a suitable name. As the restaurant will serve only Yorkshire cultural dishes and food sourced from the county this needs to be ideally visually represented in your design throughout. This brief will allow you to produce a number of products in a short time period. Preparation/Research suggestions You will need to consider how to merge the two together in the design. (place and food) You will need to consider a suitable name for the restaurant that reflects the food in which it sells and the county it is placed within. You will also need to consider and research into what are traditional foods and dishes of the county. Evidence – for this project students should submit Suitable name for the restaurant and new logo for this brand A website for online promotion of the restaurant. A range of products that would be seen and used within the restaurant, minimum products should include menus, drinks mats and napkins. The design must reflect Yorkshire culture and food in some way. Regular posts to your design practice and context blog in response to your findings and practical investigations. Clearly tagged posts with the correct module code and relevant information.
