The research I completed for my written piece into type anatomy and production methods helped with the practical element but I needed greater detail in the visuals of already existing distribution examples. So I looked at type specimens that were printed but also digital before designing my own.

The concept for the font is to represent recent trends of digital type replicating the aesthetic of old traditional prints. As the last chapter of my written investigation looks at this growing trend and how it is produced and distributed I wanted to achieve something similar with my own work. My written research had proved a good way of achieving this aesthetic was to print the letters, scan them and then manipulate digitally.

The printed version of the type specimen booklet includes primary responses received for the written element that work well to compliment the concept of the font. Also includes all relevant information and visuals needed when distributing a font in a suitable format inspired by my visual research.

The website offers a digital version of the printed type specimen which includes the same information using the same colour scheme and layout throughout. The website also offers the audience an opportunity to contact and download the font.
