Етап читання тексту Ukraine Ukraine is the second largest country in Europe. It is situated in the south-eastern part of Europe. It boarders on Russia, Byelorussia, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova. Ukraine is washed by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. There are the Carpathian Mountains with the highest peak Hoverla in the west of the country and the Crimean Mountains with the highest peak Roman-Kosh in the south. Our Motherland is the country of many rivers. The most important rivers are the Dnipro, the Dniester, the Danube, the Desna, the Siversky Donets and the Southern Buh. The Dnipro is the longest river. It flows through Ukraine from the north to the Black Sea. Ships travel along the Dnipro. Ukraine has also got a lot of big and small lakes. The biggest lake in Ukraine is Lake Yalpuh and the deepest one is Lake Svityaz. There are more than four hundred towns in Ukraine. The biggest of them are Kharkiv, Donetsk, Odesa, Lviv. The capital of Ukraine is Kyiv. It stands on the Dnipro River. Kyiv is very old but it is a very beautiful city. It is the centre of political, cultural and economic life of the country. 3.
