I am a final year MArch student at the University of Kent, who has been passionate about architecture from a young age. Starting from being excited about house moves and Right Move and their floor plans, whilst taking photos of intriguing buildings on. I frequently watched Grand Designs, being inspired seeing the transition of a person’s dream into reality, My experience so far at University, both in Undergraduate and Masters has been great and I thoroughly enjoyed working on real life projects during my year out. Fulfilling my ambition as a fully qualified architect is something that I am absolutely committed in doing.
At University, I am an architectural ambassador promoting the course and profession in general. My work as an architecture ambassador is particularly rewarding as I am able to share my passion for the course and share my own experiences, and have been delighted to see several of the visiting guest’s progress to start their first year at the University of Kent. In the future, I would love to deliver architectural workshops at local schools to introduce pupils to the subject as well as encouraging it to have a place in the curriculum.
Outside of my course, I attended Ballet, Tap, Modem & Theatre Craft classes for 12 years, and recently resumed Tap classes, As well as dancing, I enjoy playing the flute at my local church folk group and have achieved grade 8 in addition to grade 4 piano. I regularly paint in my spare time, including canvas’ for family and friends. Finally, I am a keen badminton player, both as a part of my university Badminton society and weekly at my local sports centre.

STAGE 4
Unit 4: UNCHARTED TERRITORIES 1.0 | Radical Tourism
2. 1 A bout U nit 4 Tourism is a major social phenomenon of modern society. Not being only related to sightseeing and entertainment organisation, contemporary tourism is also a major agent of economic development that represents today one of the largest industries in terms of revenue generation. Large part of the related research tends to capture the concept of ‘tourism’ as a sociocultural phenomenon from wider angles. This can be connected directly with the significance of the associated research in sociology, and thus the most recent evolution of the concept has lately undergone fundamental change following new demand for alternative forms of entertainment.
The unit agenda explores the potential of inhospitable places in offering new models of tourism and land inhabitation while dealing with the related climatic, ecological, and social issues. The investigation looks into creating new paradigms of land transformation and alternative models of land use searching into ideas of adaptability and transitional land occupation as a response to the hostile settings. Based in Iceland, we began by initially looking into the territories of intervention through advanced datamapping methodologies, linking online and on-site data retrieval for the creation of perceptual and notional maps. This set of studies informs the creation of an individual framework: exploring the material, formal and technological implications of unique novel forms of hospitality.

STAGE 3
URBAN RESTORATION PROJECT | Sheerness
3. 1 A bout This project involved the design of community based facilities centred on music, dance and food in Sheerness-on-Sea. The project includes rooms for music teaching, practising and playing, larger halls for dance and events as well as a market hall for fresh produce. In addition the site will provide 30 new one bedroom flats. The aims of the project are to foster a greater sense of community and provide a link between the two halves of Sheerness. I achieved this link through the use of a blue ribbon, starting in blue town and continuing across the bridge into mile town.
