YOU ARE INVITED! You are invited to be a guest at the presentation of the Fifth annual HKS Design Fellowship Detroit. The Fellowship is an intense, threeday charrette where emerging professionals join with students and the community to solve challenges and positively affect the metro Detroit area through design. The 2013 HKS Design Fellowship will partner with Back Alley Bikes, a non-profit organization who provides cycling education to Detroit’s youth. Back Alley Bikes emphasizes leadership development and sustainable practice, while simultaneously maintaining a community bike and repair shop called The Hub. This year’s challenge will focus on enhancing the experience and interaction among volunteers, students, and the community within the existing site and building of The Hub. The goal is to create a space that represents the sustainable and community-driven mission synonymous to Back Alley Bikes.
