Annotating on video using SMART Software *** Your computer must be connected to a SMARTBoard to use this Feature*** 1. When SMART Notebook is installed, the program installs tools that can be used in addition to SMART Notebook. A shortcut is placed on the desktop after installation. Click on the icon labeled " SMART Board Tools" (See Figure 1)

Figure 1 2. A toolbar will appear on the screen (See Figure 2). Click on the Video Player button (See Figure 3).

Figure 7 5. The Play button is the button in the bottom left corner. It will turn into a Pause button when the video is playing. The Stop button is next to the Play button. The button with the camera on it. The Capture to Notebook button takes a screen grab of the video that is being played.

6. The Cursor button will bring back the mouse pointer when the Pen button is active.

Figure 11 7. The Pen button is the feature that allows annotations on the video. When the Pen button is active, use the the interface device (finger, pen, or mouse) to write on the video (See Figure 13). The default color is black. To change the color, click on the Pen Color button. A grid will appear with colors to choose from. Select a color and write on the screen. If the video played with annotations, the markings will stay on the screen.

Figure 15 8.The Line Thickness button determines how wide the line will be when writing on the screen. When this button is selected, a pull-down menu is exposed and will show different line widths that can be used. The button with the red X is the delete annotations on the screen.

Figure 18 9. The Full Screen button will expand the video to the extents of the screen (See Figure 19). The toolbar will move to the bottom right corner of the screen (See Figure 20). All of the buttons are the in this box. Click the Escape (ESC) button to return the smaller screen.

Figure 20 10. The Mute Audio button turn the sound off and on for the video (See Figure 21). When the red circle with the line through appears on this button, the video is muted. The slide bar next to the mute button adjusts to volume of the video.
