Manifesto review - The Famous Spiegeltent Aleshia (Warehouse Circus) Updated Manifestio review in prep to handed over to TNA to publish online. Laughter workshop - The Famous Spiegeltent Leeroy Hart The Laughter Workshop is facilitated by Leeroy Hart, a professional clown and street performer of 20 years. According to Hart, laughter is something we seem to do a lot less of as we get older, depriving ourselves of countless health and lifestyle benefits that can come with a little chuckle. Research reveals that laughter helps to boost the immune system whilst decreasing the negative effects that stress can have on the body such as high blood pressure, heart disease and tension headaches. The act itself works on the concept of faking it, as whether or not we are laughing genuinely, the muscles we use and chemicals our bodies produce are the same. As most are aware, laughter can be extremely infectious, therefore in a group the results can have you in hysterics. Networking - The Famous Spiegeltent Chelsea McGuffin Active group discussions. As a group we will select our topics and break into groups to share and depen the conversation.
Inclusive practice. Our role in leading the way - The Famous Spiegeltent Asphyxia Local award-winning artist Asphyxia, joins the Youth Circus Symposium to inspire us about herself and her journey. She will help us question and reflect on our organisations, and their accessibility and inclusiveness in programs, projects and staffing. Are we practicing what we hope to be? Anatomy for Circus Bodies - The Plover & Pony (BAR) Tahmour Bloomfield Tahmour will introduce the myofascial (myo - muscular, fascial - fascial) lines in the body & how they apply to your circus art. If you’ve wondered why it feels so good to stretch a certain way, or why your hand tension is so integral to balancing on a rola bola you’ve taken the first important dive into this wonderful world. Curiosity is all that is required for this discussion. Traditional anatomy breaks the body into 600 odd muscles, but anatomists are now starting to see the body in the way dancers and acrobats have felt it for centuries. Not as one individual muscle, but as a line of them - from head to toe, finger to spine. When they work in synergy we are able to execute well timed, graceful & powerful moves - pain free. This knowledge is to help you foster longevity in your training.
