DAYS 1–3 I BELIZE CITY, BELIZE/ PUNTA GORDA Travel via Belize City to your lodge nestled in the lush coastal jungles of southern Belize. Watch for the endangered West Indian manatee at the Port Honduras Marine Reserve, and snorkel the colorful Snake Cayes. Meet park rangers at Abalone Caye and learn about their efforts to stop poaching in this pristine marine sanctuary. DAYS 4–5 I CAYO DISTRICT/ TIKAL, GUATEMALA Fly via Belize City to San Ignacio and transfer to your jungle lodge in the Cayo District. Explore the wildlife of the surrounding rainforest, and cross the border into Guatemala for a private tour of the ancient Maya ruins at Tikal, a UNESCO World Heritage site. DAYS 6–9 I CAYO DISTRICT/AMBERGRIS CAYE/BELIZE CITY Canoe the passageways of Barton Creek Cave, a gateway to the underworld for the ancient Maya. Then travel to Ambergris Caye and check in to your hotel overlooking the Belize Barrier Reef. Snorkel and swim among sea turtles, sharks, and sting rays at the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley. Relax at the beach and explore the town of San Pedro, or book an optional excursion, such as scuba diving or a guided boat or helicopter tour. Connect to your flight home from Belize City.
