DAYS 1–4 I CAIRO, EGYPT/DAHSHŪR/ MEMPHIS AND S . AQQĀRAH/GIZA Arrive in Cairo and set out to discover the bent pyramid of Dahshūr, ancient Memphis, and Djoser’s step pyramid at S . aqqārah. Spend a day among the Great Pyramids at Giza with your Egyptologist guide, and visit the Solar Boat Museum. See extraordinary artifacts at the Egyptian Museum and take a tour of Cairo, including the Citadel of Saladin, the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, the Coptic quarter, and the Khan el-Khalili bazaar. DAYS 5–9 I LUXOR/WEST BANK OF THE NILE/IDFU/ASWAN Fly to the ancient capital of Luxor. Explore the Karnak temple complex, and visit Luxor Temple after dark. In the Valley of the Kings, venture into Tutankhamun’s tomb and the Temple of Hatshepsut. See Ramses II’s mortuary temple and the Colossi of Memnon, and visit the tomb of Queen Nefertari in the Valley of the Queens. On a four-night Nile River cruise, enjoy a cooking class on board and visit the temples of Idfū and Kawm Umbū. In Aswān, see the Temple of Isis and sail a traditional felucca.
