FRANZ JOSEF LAND The world’s northernmost archipelago, Franz Josef Land’s uninhabited islands remain frozen under ice for much of the year. Here, observe polar bears, walruses, arctic seabirds, and perhaps narwhals. NOVAYA ZEMLYA AND SEVERNAYA ZEMLYA Cruise to the heavily glaciated coastlines of these two archipelagos. As we sail under 24 hours of daylight, be on the lookout for beluga whales and other marine mammals. NEW SIBERIAN ISLANDS These rocky outposts harbor abundant wildlife including walruses and seabirds. DAYS 1–5 I U.S./OSLO, NORWAY/TROMSØ/ NORWEGIAN FJORDS Depart the U.S. and arrive in Oslo the following morning. Tour the city and stay overnight before flying to Tromsø to embark the ship. Spend two days exploring Norway’s spectacular northern coast.
