DAY 1 | NAIROBI, KENYA

DAYS 2–3 | LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Depart on a scenic drive to Lake Nakuru, arriving at our lodge in time for lunch. On a late afternoon wildlife safari drive, keep an eye out for white and black rhinos. The next day, head out on morning and afternoon safari drives in the park, and gain a deeper understanding of issues surrounding poaching and rhino conservation during a lecture from a researcher with the Kenya Wildlife Service.

DAYS 4–6 | LAKE NAIVASHA/MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Head south through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha, where we’ll embark on a boat cruise along the lake, visiting the Crescent Island wildlife sanctuary. The next day, travel to our comfortable tented camp in the heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve and set out on an evening safari. Spend your last full day on the reserve tracking wildlife, starting with an early drive when wildlife is most active. Watch for gazelles and antelopes— and their stealthy predators.

DAYS 7–8 | MAASAI MARA/NAIROBI

After a morning safari drive, head back to Kenya’s capital. En route, stop in at a G Adventures–supported project, Ubuntu Café, an initiative that trains and creates local jobs for women. Visit the craft center, meet some of the program participants, and sit down to a delicious farm-totable lunch. Depart at any time the next day.
